Lord, could you tell I was on pain meds when I posted last? Cut firemen?? lol Cute!! Kawasaki Im glad to know your ok. Im with you on not being able to dink alot. When I got home I got a few oz's of Peach/white grape juice. YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!! I got home around 12:30 or 1. I took a pain pill and very very slowly I got into bed. My husband put a pillow under my knees and that helped the slight pain I had where the port is. I SLEPT from 1pm till after 5pm. I needed it. The pain I felt was the port. It was swollen, looked like a tennis ball poking out lol. I didnt feel any shoulder pain, but in the center of my chest hurt. When I would breath it hurt. Im glad to say that the pain isnt as bad today. I feel like I have done alot of sit ups. The only place I seriously feel any discomfort is on my left side where the port is and its not bad. My chest still hurts a little this morning. I think its due to Dr. Hart fixing my H/Hernia. I so hate having to do the breathing treatment, but Im doing like i was told. I SO DO NOT want to get pneumonia again. I had viral in July and it lasted about 6 weeks. Anyways im doing much better today. Kawasaki I hop you are feeling a lil better as well. Thanks to everyone for being so supportive. It makes a big diff to be able to talk to others who have been thru the same surgery. THANK YOU ALL!! xoxox

Ok, im home and my head hurts sooo bad and my chest a lil. I dont feel alot of gas, i feel a lil shoulder pain every now and then but its not bad at all. I went in at 7:30am this morning, and they took me back and made me take everything off and get into the SEXY gown. Heres the kicker! As soon as i got into nothing but that gown, i see what looks lilke smoke coming out of the air vents!! Then comes all these cut firemen. I wasnt happy about everyone being able to see my in my gown and compression socks! Those things looked like grany hose!!! Anyway it wasnt smoke the A/C vent froze up. Too much drama for me...lool....I think the little but of pain im feeling is where my Dr. repaired my HHernia. Just wanted to check in. I'll update tomorrow....Hope my girls did ok today!!! Nikki

I found the best drinks at Publix and Wal-Mart. If you look where the Orange juice is you should find a brand of protein drinks called "BOLTHOUSE" they have the BEST drinks. Chai Tea that taste like Starbucks. They have another Mocha one thats just as good. Also NAKED has a few good drinks. Naked ones are little thicker but still better than the mix. Hope this helps!!!

Nikki- So I went into Walmart last night to finish stocking up on post op stuff and guess what they had??? Bolthouse stuff!! Woot woot!! LOL I bought the Cappucino and the vanilla Chai Tea. The tea is soooo yummy, it makes me feel like I'm cheating! Good suggestion! Three more days girl! I hope you're getting excited! I could NOT wait to get off of work yesterday, bc I knew that meant surgery was finally almost here! Can't wait, hope things are going well for you! Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!! Im sooo glad u found it. Also NAKED Protein drinks are good too. Thicker but not to bad. Girl im sooo excited about Tuesday. It's sleeting here and it will be over tomorrow. Glad it wont keep me from getting to the hospital. Cool Liz!!! Im glad you and Kawasaki are going the same day as me. I to am nervous,but im excited as well. Its strange how just in the last few weeks since i started this that i have changed. I gave up coke, if my husband or daughter eat something sweet in front of me, I DONT EVEN CARE. I hope we all go through surgery just fine. Oh what are the gas strips? And I dont have to do the liquid diet, i just have to drink shakes 3 times a day. You guys should try Bolthouse Protein drinks!! They are yummy, and sorta like Starbucks. Walmart and Publix have them in the cold juice section, or by the orange juice. Nikki

Hey Kawasaki chick, I just noticed that you and I will be banded on the same day. I dont know about you,but im sooo excited!! 9 days left! My pre-op is the 13th @ 7:30am.UGHHHHHH. I guess I will find out then if I have to do the liquid diet for a week. Glad Im not the only one with the Surg date of Jan 20th!! Keep me posted. Nikki Atlanta GA

Ok im getting my band on the 20th. im soooo excited! I dont have to do the liquid diet, but im going to start it Monday. Can someone tell me how to do the ticker or whatever its called? Hope everyone is doing good. And Kawasaki I did love Dr. Pepper like 10 yrs ago, and i dont know how i changed to coke. Must be just living in GA or the South. Coke is huge here. ok no coke!! im 2 days off. I did find a awesome drink we can have. its a Protein drink from Bolthouse and its Chai Tea. Its yummy and taste like the chai tea from starbucks. i go for my 2 test tomorrow, ughhh upper GI sounds not fun. im getting more excited everyday. Im excited for you all! And Carolinamom, i have my fingers crossed for you. i dot my chest x-ray and upper GI scheduled for tommorrow. My pre-op appt will be on Jan 13th. And surgery the following week, just not sure of the date. I was told the 20th or the 22nd. anyone else feel depressed thinking about what they cant have after? my big thing is coke and its going to be hard not having it. But im sure i will get over it. I have 2 test to get done this week coming up (upper GI) and chest x-ray. Once thats done im good to go. My surgery will be Jan 20th or Jan 22nd. I wanted to get this done quick, but now that its going to happen im nervous!!! Im self pay, so I didnt have to go thru all the hoops for INS. Nillie, me too!! I wanna be stankin hot. i go to the dr.s on the 2nd. They told me because im self pay so it should be about 2 weeks after my appt to be banded. Im so happy and excited, but sooooooo nervous too!!
