yes ur right sandokat..its most likely and allergic reaction...i tend to get rashes easily and i knew deep down before i had the surgery that this was probably gonna happen....but thanks on the advice about what i need to watch out for in the lotions...:rolleyes2:

I was just banded on 6/19 and last night i had to go ahead and rip off the steri strips b/c it has caused very bad irritations on my tummy...now each incision site is an inflammtory rash.....and the residue of the strips (adhesiveness) is still stuck on on my skin i have been trying to rub them off as gentle as possible, but its hard b/c it just teases the itch that the rash has caused....im getting frustrated with all this crap....i have no restriction and my will power is about to bust...and these damn strips have screwed my belly all up....ahhhh sorry i just had to vent yall....Im gonna start medicating the rashes with cream and hopefully the inflammation will go down...not how i imagined things to be :rolleyes2:

Wow restless!! that was a perfect breakdown.....u made sound totally sensible.. i just got banded last friday and i am hungry already....i know its b/c i dont have any fluids, but what i would like to know is should i start eating as if i have restriction even w/o the Fluid? b/c without fluid i didnt really think i had a pouch...i thought the pouch was created once the band became tightened for a pouch to actually form...my recovery has been pretty good and seems like my stomach didnt even get tampered with....its seems like the only thing effected by the surgery was the incisions and port site which is of course tender.....but i cant even feel the band and when i inhale i dont have any pain....i saw a pic of the band inside of me and it doesnt even look right...likes its not even really on my stomach...it looks as if its on a pole of yellow fat...!

its probably in hurst where my surgeon is located...at the surgery center of ft. worth.../true results...but yea i look it up on the fillcenters website the guy provided to u earlier....

its seems like me and you are going through the same exact things....im also hungry too...very hungry....i can eat normally but with will power i havent been eating normal foods i have just been doing the liquids....im still suffering with port pain...but not as bad as day one..and im still gassy...all the gas seems to still be in my tummy...its like i can feel it boiling inside of me or something...but yea ur not alone on the hungry part....

well dear it seems like me and you are going through the same thing...except i didnt have any hernia's or fatty liver.....my doc actually took a pic of my liver to show me how shockingly healthy and small it was...but yes im experiencing the horrible gas pains and the port/incision pain.....i have to prepare myself mentally to get up and take the pain of my abdomen muscles working in order for me to get up off the couch, out the bed..etc.and i almost had to sneeze this morning..but i kept it from coming out..b/c i didnt even want to feel that pain....!!! im going through my regret phase of getting the band b/c of all this pain im goin through..which i will admit it has gotten better since day and and 2 but i just want my energy back...i have never been without it...!! i guess this is a lesson learned that when i do get my energy back i need to be as active as possible b/c energy is a valuable thing....im learning that with this experience... I am actually hungry i know some people say they dont have an appetite for atleast a week, but hell i was hungry on day one...but as i said earlier i was extremely parched and i hadn't eaten anything since 1pm the day before the surgery....i've basically been eating Jello, sugar free popsicles, beef broth, and protien shakes...im glad im not going back in t wrk until th 29th...b/c i dont know how some people were able to go back after 3 days or so...but i will continue to keep u posted on my recovery...thanks again everyone for your words of encouragement...

Well the poert incision is gushing out with blood so im going to have to change the bandage myself..well my mom will help me...but its soaked in blood and even leaking out of the bandage...im so frustrated......i still feel like crap....dizzy and gas seems to only be sitting in my stomach..which makes my port pain even worse.....excuse my french but i just want to fart all this mess out of me!!!!!! i try walkin but im soo dizzy...may from the codone....i sit up as much as i can but thats gets painful too...ahhhh im about to just try to go to sleep again so i dont have to feel this pain...thanks everyone for ur words of encouragement....!

this is one heck of an experience...especially since i was a virgin to completely everything that has to do with surgery....having an IV, being put to sleep, being cut enough to where tools are able to insert my body, and all the medication i was prescribed...this is even my first time taking hydrocodone too...! Well this port pain is no joke.....and the gas...is there and it is bothering me but not as bad as the port, but with both of those mixed together i have been kinda loosing my mind b/c the gas is still in my abdominal area....my throat feels dry as cotton, and b/c im too chicken to make myself cough out the gew stuck in my throat from the barium swallow and the snot created from sitting under the cold air, which that always has promoted mucus and cold like symptoms for me as long as i can remember. My headache is annoying too...does anyone know if i can take aspirin??? my incisions seem to be ok, they are stll all taped and bandaged up..the only spots with with the most blood that i can tell was gushing out was the port site, and the incisions are pretty close together.... Now i dont know if this is b/c my mouth is so dry but im craving for something to moisten my mouth so i tend to be hungry...not like i wanna a big burger and fries...but like i would be satisfied with something soupy with flavor....is it bad for me to be hungry the first day out?? The only thing i ate was a little thing of sugar free black cherry flavored Jello....now im kinda craving a protien shake...but dumb me forgot to bring milk over here to my mom's so ill have to send her for that asap because im hungry/mostly parched!!! A far as my experience at the surgery center...they weren't lying when they say this is an outpatient procedure b/c i got there around 6:30 this morning and i was out of the surgery center and on the road at like 9:30ish the staff were in such rush...i didnt even get to talk to my surgeon after the procedure b/c he was already on body # 2...for the day..I have no idea what size band i have but i do know its the LAP BAND AP... Oh the one thing i did get was the pictures of the band inside of me...and geez louise my stomach is surrounded in fat..the band looks like its just wrapped around fat...i was kinda worried wondering to myself if the DOC actually placed it in the correct place b/c there is nothing but yellow fat and then the band around it..do yall know if thats normal?? I saw a pic of my liver and it looks all healthy...(from what i saw) i didnt see any fat around it or anything... I have come to the conclusion that since i put myself through all this just to loose weight, i better stick to this plan b/c this change is serious....I would be a fool to completely disobey the rules and try to fight the band instead of having it work for me.... I appreciate your time in reading my post....please feel free to let me know ur opinions and tips of what i have been experiencing to give me other outlooks on things... Thanks again!

I am to report to the surgery center at 6:30am tomorrow also...im very anxious, nervous, and really just speechless....i can't believe this is happening...!!!! if 6 months went this fast from the day i decided to inquire about the band from actually going under surgery......i can only imagine what 6 months from tomorrow will be like on 12/19/09....hopefully ill be down a good amt and be more active than ever!! My surgery is this friday on the 19th also and i am taking 8 days off b/c for one this is my first surgery.....and i do indeed have a desk job but with the mental stress that it puts me through....i want to be physically good enough to have an easier cope with the mental stress i go through with my job...i love it but with the mortgage industry the way it is right now....im under alot of pressure all the time. I also want to make sure my new relationship with food is carefully attended to before i just go out in the open...i dont want to be barfin up stuff at my desk in front of everyone...My goal is to be up and walking around by day 2.....

my insurance is 90/10, my out of pocket expenses were 245.00 to the surgeon...and 1450.00 to the surgery center where im having the procedure done...so almost 1700.00...

hey there tia..im in dfw and myt surgery on 6/19 also im currently 250lbs...and this pre op diet has been tough..i hate to admit but i have actually cheated so i havent lost..but i did check with my doc to see if i needed to loose and he said no..but it wouldnt hurt.....im just nervous..im on an emotional rollercoaster right now...i want this to work soo bad but i had a negative bug inside telling me it wouldnt work for me..but i guess thats just me being afraid of failing....im definitely going to need support so feel free to message me sometimes when u want to talk..by the way this is my first surgery ever so u can only imagine what im feelin right now!

ooo ms reyes i feel ur pain on that 100% liquid diet....all i can say for us is to take it day by day keep ourselves occupied b/c if we dont do those 2 things we will go crazy and possibly make bad choices..

First patient on my Doc's agenda..so im lookin at 7am surgery which is fine by me!!! I start my pre op diet tomorrow for two weeks, which does allow me one meal a day to eat lean meats and veggies, and the rest of the daily meals are liquids...so i should be ok.... Ill be taking 8 days of medical leave....so i should be refreshed by the time i get back to work!

they wont check the gym..atleast mine didnt i didnt even join a gym i just told them what activity i did and they documented it on my charts....that seems to be the key in approval....make sure that the nurse practitioner or pcp is just documenting u making the efforts to change ur eating habits and that ur making the attempt to be active.....i just told my pcp tht i went walking like 4x's a week for 30 minutes....and provided the doc office a food diary stating everything i ate....i still had a bad food atleast once a week listed ont he diary but i made sure to show healthy eating habits on the diary mostly... these insurance loops are to see just how serious the patient is in loosing weight if they're considering paying thousands of dollars...if i were u if u want to be approved stick to the doc visits but dont go eating super healthy and exercising hardcore...just cut back on the bad things now that u will miss when banded...that will atleast help u maintain the 40 bmi....i was exactly 40 bmi and i actually put on weight just to make sure i dont go below....kinda regret it now cuz i went overboard on the weight gain......but hopefully i will have surgery in 2 weeks....

hey skinny!! dr marsden is going to be me surgeon too...but i was just wondering where did u find it for 139?? i need the version that works with mac computers...also am i also able to turn it off when i go inside places that dont allow devices like that inside...govt buildings i shall say....

hey babe, i have aetna pos 100 also....and my surgery will be covered at 90/10....so my out of pocket max for my insurance is 2000 including the 100 deductible so really after i meet my deductible i will pay no more than 1900 which i signed up for a health care spending account with my wonderful job so that i wont have to come up with the money upfront....b/c i do know that lapband usually costs between 25k-35k for insurance patients..so 10% of that..will still be in the $2000+ range. my approval only took 1 day....i did the 3 month one and i didnt have to do a pysch per insurance or doc, and i accidently skipped one month's visit but made it up end of april so that unfortunately prolonged the process, but didnt deny the surgery..which is what i was more concerned about.... let me know if you have anymore questions..

mine is like linda's....mine said 12/31/2099-12/31/2099...so yes i would call them asap tomorrow morning and make sure that approval is still good as long as ur still covered on that particular insurance plan..
