  1. Megs I have been on puree and mushies since day 7 and i am on them for a week then my i go up to my next phase which i don't know what it is yet talk to dietician tomorrow. Have they still got you on liquids?

Longingtobelean The op will go fine i worried about it for weeks and when i had it i thought blimwy that was nothing. The only pain i got was shoulder tip pain and if you let that get out of control it hurts. I thought i had doslocated my right shoulder because it was the arm i was using to get up the bed as i had a drip in the other arm. But it ended up being from the gas they use is surgery. Other then that every thing is good. I have been banded 10 days today and it is great (i might not say that after my first fill) if you have any question please ask anyone of us is willing to help and to answer what we can.

  2. Hi all

I got home from hospital yesterday afternoon and i am feeling fine. Yesterday i had a lot of shoulder tip pain and it was really bad but morphine helped alot. So does taking panadol and nerofen every 4 hours. Take care all

So how are you today Megsy101.

  3. Thanks everyone for your responses i like reading that i am not alone in feeling panicked. But it is also good that you all have not felt it was the wrong decision. Banding is a big decision and i think it is only natural to think to yourself am i doing the right thing. Will i be okay. After we all have the op we will be thinking what the hell was i thinking to be scared. Good luck everyone

  4. I think i am having surgery between 12 and 1 pm on the 9th i have to ring to confirm time

I wish i was first for the day but i think i am fourth.

Have you taken any before pics my daughter just took 7 for me. 3 with just my bra and nickers on and 4 dressed. I have front, back and side views. Can't wait until I can see a difference after the surgery. I am going to take photo's monthly. I also took my measurements.

    Take Care

  5. I'm up for surgery tomorrow...scared to death. I think I'm more scared about something happening during surgery than I am scared about the band itself...I hope this too shall pass..Good luck!!!

Good luck with your surgery tomorrow you will be fine. I think we all are getting the pre op jitters. Please come back and tell us how you feel after the op :tongue_smilie:

  6. Hi

I am booked in to be banded on the 9th of Jan so i started my optislim on the 26th in 3 days i have lost 3.2kgs. Optislim is not that bad i have 3 a day plus a piece of fruit and Protein and free vegies at night. I took out a personal loan to get my banding done as i didn't want to wait 12 months and i have no super i am a stay at home mum and also a carer for my elderly father. I am sick of being over weight and i think the band is a good investment for my future. The hardest thing i have found with the optislim is my morning coffee i can't have it with milk and i am not going to drink it black so i have changed over to english Breakfast tea and i have that black that doesn't taste to bad. I also have a coffee shake in the morning. Good luck everyone with there surgery. My doctor is in Cairns and he is DR Clapsham. I have heard great things about him so i think i will be in good hands.
