Hi Megan, I was in 6119 and I too had a hiatal hernia repair and am just sore at the port site. I had a red robe , I did meet some girls and never caught there names tho. You did say you had blond short spikey hair right? I never saw u then. I hope you are doing well, how do you like the mushy/purred foods? Tastes pretty damn good, huh? Crazy how little it takes to feel full. Take care and I hope to talk to you soon.......Laura

I was just banded 4 days ago, and I must say all these problems I have read here scare the hell out of me. I will say my dr automatically looks for haital hernias and repairs them on the spot, so I hope that is one thing in my favor. He said I had a large on and it would cause alot of problems down the road.Good luck to everyone and I pray I f]have no problems like I have just read....... -

Well, Im home, had my band placed on tuesday the 9th. Feel okay. Tummy is sore , but not terrible. Im always cold tho. Im tired but walk arould as much as I can. I had a shower and took bandages off. The port is where Im the most sore, and it has the most staples, 5 of them. the rest have 1 or 2 staples each, and they come out on monday. I get to start pureed protein tommorrow, and Im actually looking forward to it too!! 10 pounds gone on preop diet and lost 3 more since tuesday......Not bad. Good luck to everyone else, and keep in touch...... -

Congrats!!! It is surreal, I felt the same way. I am on day 6 of the pre op diet and have surgery on Feb.9th. I can't believe how fast it is going. I'm soooo excited and nervous too! Hello everyone. Well today as day 1 on the preop diet. Did ok. I will have no problems at the school where I work, but the weekends are going to be hell. I must say Im afraid to eat the wrong stuff or sneak something because they will be able to tell by looking at my liver .I would just die if I woke up and they did not do the surgery!!!:thumbup: I wish you all well and remember, we FEBURARY BANDSTERS CAN DO THIS!!!!!! Today I go to the pre op class and learn all about the 2 week diet. I start my fast for two weekes starting tomorrow!!!! Im sooooo excited and time is going by so fast, I sure hope the 2 weeks goes by just as fast!! Feb. 9th is surgery for me!! We can do this, keep in touch everyone!!!:wink: -

Hello! Yes I am having my band placed on feb.9th also! I go for a pre op class next monday and start the dreaded diet on tuesday!! Im nervous but I love coming to this site for moral support, like someone said, "keep your eye on the prize" and that is how I will get through the 2 week diet from hell!!!!!! So glad to see some people have the same issues. Im 2 weeks from the pre op diet and have surgery on 2-9-10. I see dr. on Jan 27th. All I feel like I do is overeat lately. I am so dissapointed in myself.I feel like I want to eat whatver I want now because I wont be able to later. This is crazy!!!! I vow to start fresh tomorrow and get ready for the upcoming diet /pre op class ect, please pray for me to do it!!! I need your support!! Thanks.......:w00t: -

I am so :thumbup:shocked at how fast all this has gone. I went to a seminar in July and all other things required and got approved in Nov.!!!! I have a date for my surg, it will be Feb. 9th. Im so excited and nervous and worry soooo much about the pre op diet and excess skin. But I know this is what I need to do. It will all work out and I will come to this site for support. Congrats to all Feb Bandsters and I look forward to chatting with you!!! -
Does anyone have BCBS of Illinois?

I have bcbs of IL. and was just approved. It was fairly easy as long as you do exactly as the dr. tells you. 3 month diet and they submit everything. seminar was in July, met dr and went over procedure in Aug. , Sept , oct and Nov were 3 month diet . Saw a cardio, psycho, and pulmo doctors in that time frame too. Submitted on Nov 9 and had an answer on Nov.30th!!!! Best of luck and do not give up. I can not wait till Jan to be banded!!! -
JUst got approval from my insurance and am so very excited. I should be banded by end of January or 1st of Feb. Any other Illinois people getting banded in 2010??? Best of luck to us all!!!

Hello to all. I am new to this. I am just in the research stage of seeing if this surgery is for me. I definitely have 100 lbs. to lose and a BMI of 46. I am calling my insurance monday to see if they cover this. I have BCBS/Illinois and I have to say from what I have read Im not so sure that is going to help!!!
