Hi Everyone!
I"m a January 19th bandster as well!
Glad to see others!
I'm getting banded at Hurley in Flint, MI. Wife actually follows 3 weeks later. So we're rocking!
2 week pre-op liquid diet is going good. My craving of real food is subsiding day by day. What can I say? We all know it sucks...especially the first 2-3 days! hahaha.
BUT, it is worth it! I stepped on the scale this morning and was down 17 pounds since the 5th...so I'm overjoyed.
Goodluck to everyone! Can't wait to see what everyone has to say after surgery!

I had the two week liquid diet pre-op and it sucked. I hated it but I did it anyway. After a few days the hunger subsided into a mind numbing fog. Sure, my pets stayed far far away from me and my kids made sure all their fingers were accounted for when i was around but I got through it. The first few days are terrible then you get used to it.I agree with that... I am on day four of my two week liquid diet and it's no easy thing.
BUT, yesterday and today have been far better than the first two days when my body was in total shock.
The shakes/fiber drinks/etc. have been far easier to get down now. I find it easier to control my 'real food' cravings by 24/7 having SOME sort of liquid with me...water is my new best friend.
The other thing? ALL THE VITAMINS!! Holy cow...4 big chewable Vitamins a day--- a multi and a calicum. Fun stuff!!!
I can't imagine doing the surgery WITHOUT the liquid pre-op diet. It truly seems like doing this is forcing me to get my head in the game and HOPEFULLY prevent nutrition problems post-op.
The other big help is my wife. She's getting banded three weeks after me, so she knows what I'm going thru, because she'll be right behind me!!
Good luck to all! I'm getting banded on Jan. 19th in Flint, Michigan. CAN NOT WAIT!
