  1. Hi There. I am 5'8 and I was banded at 282. My goal weight is 185. They say that I should be 160-165 to be average but my doctor said 185 is good. 145 seems a little low. Isn't it hard to maintain?
  2. What you are experiencing is quite normal. My doctor said it is typical to lose 60-65% of tour excess weight and then it just stops. I've been 35 lbs from goal for quite a few months now. It is really difficult to loss 19 months in. We are all in the same boat.
  3. Hi Paulax, I've been stuck at the same weight for a while now. Part of the problem is that I've been eating around the band. When I don't get enough in, I drink with meals. So now I am just trying to get back on track. Wow, these last 35 are quite difficult!
  4. Thanks Travelgirl. I am upping my water intake today and I'm going to have a protein shake before bed tonight. Wow, restriction is amazing!
  5. Hi Travelgirl, I'm on medication yes but nothing is new. The last medication I started was 7 weeks ago. You would think the reaction would have been sooner if that is the case? The other medications have been for years. I really think it is blood sugar levels.
  6. Stacy, you are doing fabulous. Keep up the good work.
  7. I've been waking up in the a.m. dizzy since Sunday. I haven't been eating as much since my fill. My friend also said that I may also not be taking in enough liquids. I am going to the doctor tomorrow to have him run some bloodwork. Has anyone else had this symptom and what was it from?
  8. I agree with the Doctor. You can also have some problems with your esophogus if you don't get it taken care of. Good luck.
  9. I didn't quit, but then again my Doctor didn't mention it. I am now on Chantix and am trying to quit.
  10. I want to stay married so that is why I decided no contact with my affair. It really nice because he lives in NYC and I'm in CA so no contact is a little easier. Right now I am in a support group and I am going one day at a time. My affair didn't mind me fat nor did my husband. Funny.
  11. Its quite common to eat 5 small meals a day especially since you can't fit so much in the pouch.
  12. Dr. Robert McKeen at South Bay Bariatrics takes Mexico patients. He is wonderful. He works out of Good Sam so it might be him that you saw already. 408-402-9911
  13. You have to eat really really slowly and small bites with the band or you will vomit. PB
  14. Crating is the only way to train your dog. I would invest in a nice size crate and start with that. Good luck.
  15. I need support. I love my husband and we are working things out first of all. He is aware of my affair. My lover lives in NYC and I live in CA. I have known him for over 4 years now. Our affair started about 3 years ago and since then we have remained friends. That is the problem. I know my husband should be my best friend that is why its been so difficult. I haven't spoken to the other man in over a week now. I don't want to have contact anymore but it is very painful for me because we were so close. I would call it an emotional affair as we haven't been intimate for 2 years now. How long did it take you to get completely over your affair? Why is it so difficult?
  16. That is a very drastic fill. My doctor has never given me more than .5 or 1cc at a time. Truthfully I think you need a slight unfill. Good luck.
  17. Yes, I had the same problem. It was because I was afraid to eat solids. Once I moved to more solids I was okay and could go more like 3-4 hours. I totally was where you are at. Starving 1-2 hours later. Also, I did have a slight fill of .3 put in so now I am not as hungry. If you move to solids and still feel hungry in 2 hours then you may want another fill. Good luck.
  18. You should be able to eat solids and keep them down. My doctor said if that you PB more than once every two weeks you are too tight. In my case, I can only eat 3-4 bites or 1 oz at a time several times a day. Good luck.
  19. I can only eat a few bites and I am full. Restriction is different for different people. In my case, to lose I need to eat very little. If you can eat an entire meal of 1 cup, in my opinion that is too much. I would try to consume no more than 1/2 cup of food. Good luck.
  20. There are 2 types of tightness. Tightness to liquids and tightness to solids. If you are tight to solids then you need a slight unfill, maybe only .1 or .2ccs. If you are losing on soft foods it will then be your decision when or not to get an unfill. In my case, I can eat solids. Just not much of them. 3-4 bites and I'm full. Good luck. Hang in there.
  21. My surgeon makes you wait 2 weeks in between fills. 6 weeks sounds like a long time. I would call and ask.
  22. Sometimes the bands can go over like 1cc or so. I would go in for another fill if you aren't losing. Do you eat 800-1k a day? How much do you eat at once? 1/2 cup, 1 cup, etc.
  23. It depends what is happening. How many calories a day are you taking in? Bandsters eat 800-1k sometimes up to 1200. How much volumne do you eat? 1/4 cup, 1 cup, etc.
  24. Wow, that would be quite discouraging. I think you did the right thing by not saying anything. We all have our own journey in this lapband world. Its just too bad when you make a drastic decision you can't change your attitude or behavior. Keep the faith.
  25. Mine is $15k and only $5k are the surgeons. The rest if for the hospital, etc.
