  1. Hey Lucky, day by day is how you win this. Start out every day remembering why you did this in the first place. I will see you at the finish line.

Thanks for the feedback Luckyinlove. I am trying to be accountable for the decisions I make with food. It is a daily struggle. Atkins, def works for me, but like you, I fall off that wagon as soon as I see some carby, sugary, yummy thing. Iam getting better. "Talk" to you soon

So, the last couple of days have not been the greatest. Memorial day did not exactly go as I planned it. I did not eat "bad" foods neccessarily, but I was grazing the entire day. I nibbled on this and that with very little structure. With all that, I thank God for my band, because without it, I know that I would have eaten 4x as much as I actually did. You see, I know that food in itself is not an enemy, but the way I view it, it is my greates enemy right now. It threatens my happiness day in and out. It distorts my appearence and my energy level. Hopefully down the line in this journey, I can see food for what it really is( source of energy) not anything more or less. Anyway, the rest of the week will be a great one. I plan on following the doctor's orders to a tee. I have visualized a healthier , happier me so I won't stop until I get there. How was your week? Pls let me know how you handled events like mem day, or office party. I'll be back tommorrow to let you all know how it went. No matter what, I am worth the work and effort it takes.

Hi thinatheart, thanks for your comments. I do know that food is not the enemy, but for me the wrong foods are the enemy, even just a little bit of the wrong foods can start me down a slippery slope. Maybe later in this war with obesity, I can get to a point where food is just a source of energy, but for now, I have to be on my guard. Have a great week

So on this journey, many hurdles present themselves. Memorial Day bbq's are like the Devil to banded people. All those 'good' foods staring you down, calling your name. So here's my plan for today. 1) eat a healthy Breakfast(Hard boiled egg) 2) Great Lunch( 1 Cup salad and chicken strips) 3) Water, Water, Water, Water 4)turkey burger, no buns of course Volleyball @ 45mins Bottom Line: My goals are bigger to me than any potato salad. Have a plan and stick to it, you will feel great for it. What's your plan??

So today is going to be a fab one. I am so ready to make great decisions today. I will get 8 glasses of h20 in, at protien first, stop when I am hungry and work out. What about you? We set long term goals for ourselves, but a new challnge should be daily goals. So those are mine.
  8. Hi , Everyone I am back! A brief history, I was banded on 12-22-08. I weighed in at 255. I had a 3cc fill and lost 15lbs. Before I had another fill, I found out I was pregnant in feb 09. Needless to say, I spent the entire first year of being banded pregnant. I am happy I have my little girl, I breastfed her for six months, got my third fill, and am ready to kickstart my weight loss. I am currently 232lbs. pls share any plans/ideas to kick my weight loss in high gear.
  9. Hello Everyone, I can't believe that I am in this group. I was just banded on 12-22-08. Just three months ago and just found out I was three weeks pregnant. I am happy but scared, because it is so early on. Anyway, I trust that my baby and I will be fine.
  10. I also just had my first fill yesterday. My doctor had me do sort of a sit up and he felt for the port.
  11. I was banded on 12-22-08 and am not so much hungry, but I want to eat real food. I only have two more days until the soft foods stage, but I want to go downstairs right now heat up the turkey meatballs and eat them. Help, I don't know, I really want to eat real food.
  12. Hello Everyone, I was banded on 12-22-08, so I am very new to this life. It would be great to have someone there to converse about all the changes that are to come. Thanks in advance
  13. I was just banded on 12-22-08 and have slight soreness under the incisions. Since it is only my 3rd day, I figure it is normal.
  14. Hello Ladies, I am also a newbie. I get banded on this Monday 12/22/08. I am a ball of emotions right now, thinking about anethesia, rice, so much stuff. I hope to look to all of you that have already been banded about the day to day difficulties. Later for now
