  1. I Was banded in July 2009. Since then I lost weight, had a baby and gained all my weight back. Surgery weight was 240 in 2009, now I weigh 235 Pounds. I am finally DONE yo-yo dieting, I am miserable. tired. hurting. DONE. I am done feeling this way, join with me I cant do it alone. Been there failed that. I need accountability, if you do too, join me.

Chris Powell from Extreme Makeover Weight Loss Edition has a great book. Chose to Lose, which I have read before now he has a new book, Chose More, Lose More. It is carb cycling. I know me, I need chocolate, I will fail without being able to have treats, it just how I am. You get to have a reward or treat every other day. This is the plan for me. Whatever plan you do, join me, share advise, lend an ear, let's make a team to finally beat this! We can do it!

  2. Hi Amy, I am here, hopefully there are other '09 bandsters here also. I also had a baby back in may 2011, I haven't been back down to my pre-pregnancy weight since. I am very discouraged, and am only down 15 lbs from surgery. Good luck with the surgeon appt. tomorrow, I am scared to have a revision, or any other surgery. Please keep us posted.

  3. Congrats!! I am 29 weeks pregnant, and didnt start gaining until i was about 22 weeks, now i am up 15 pounds, I know that seems like a lot but my ob was worried since I wasnt gaining. You know with the nausea you just eat what you can. I had a total unfill at 11 weeks b/c the nausea was so bad, i also had kidney stones and had to up my Fluid intake. just eat well, meat fruits and veggies and you will be fine, enjoy the no weight gain while it lasts lol, it will come as the baby grows. i would still drink skim milk though the fat you are probably using more than the baby this early in the game, my ob said in the 2nd trimester 200 add'l calories and the 3rd 350-400 addl cal. that;s just 2 cookies!! you know the cravings get you sometimes! congrats!!!

  4. Please don't be so discouraged, I am 28 weeks and was down 60 pounds, and have only put on 15 or so pounds. I didnt get my fill totally removed until around 11 weeks, I just wasnt hungry, and the Dr's were worried that I wasnt getting enough nutrition. Just follow the rules, dont go crazy with sweets and drink lots of Water. I promise this too shall pass, you have made huge strides since surgery, so there is no reason to be upset. keep up the great work, eat sensibly and you will do great! keep us posted!

I also wanted to say, the port reallly just started bothering me today, just a little sore, I have been doing a lot of pushing and pulling though. it does feel funny though b/c there is not so much padding around it, dont worry it doesnt stick out. I have a 4 yr old son and carried him totally different, but this one is a girl, so i really do not look pregnant from the front or back, only from the side. I was huge all over with my son. it probably depends more which sex you are carrying, than anything to do with the band, in my opinion.

  5. I had a total unfill at 12 weeks, now i am 19 weeks, and have only gained 3-4 pounds the whole pregnancy ( all of it since the unfill). I am getting really hungry all the time, and have trouble feeling full. I hope this helps, I went ahead and had the unfill b/c of nausea and severe kidney stones so I could drink alot to flush out the stones. Good luck it is great being skinny and pregnant!!

  6. Thanks for posting this. I was banded July 2, 2009, and am down 55 or so pounds. I recently have put on a few pounds, I was down 60 pounds. Now that I have learned unconciously how to eat around the band I am ready to rev up my weight loss again. I will be starting the 5 day pouch test tomorrow 3-17. Thanks again, good luck everyone. I would love and appreciate any new ideas to help me get back on track. God Bless!

  7. Hi ladies, I am so glad I found both of you, I am down 52 pounds since surgery in july '09. In Feb it was 59... I have been at a stand still since December. Probably due to the fact that I eat whatever I want just in smaller portions. I am really needing to lose 30 more pounds, but it is So hard. Anyway, I am happy I found this thread and hopefully we can encourage each other, and re-learn what made us so successful in the beginning. God Bless!

  8. Hi everyone just checking in, I am down 28 pounds, and my clothes have room in them. They aren't not hugging all the fat rolls now. Shawna I hope you are doing well after surgery. I havent been on here in over a week, so I had to catch up on everyone. Hope everybody has a great weekend!

    God Bless, Amanda

  9. Don't be critical, we are all here to learn how to be better. This is a process, and a long, lifelong one at that. Please ignore rude people. Being one week out is extremely hard, you have so many emotions that you are working through, and old habits are HARD to break. Maybe you should try to find another outlet instead of eating, at least that is what I am still trying to do. Most people on here are also here for support so just ignore the rude people, apparently they have never had an addiction and are too ignorant to have empathy. Hang in there I promise it gets better!

  10. Hi, just thought I would let you know, my surgeon doesnt consider bypass until your BMI is around 60. I was banded July 2, 2009, and have lost 25 pounds, already. I weighed 234 at 5'1" and would only consider the band, but that is everyone's own personal choice. Please look around at different Doctors, many have free seminars to ask questions, meet them and avoid an office visit fee. I hope this helps! Good luck

  11. I was banded on July 2, 09. I went out to eat at Cracker Barrell, and had an egg, a few bites of chicken (less than an ounce), no breading or skin, with gravy on it to make it mushy, and some cheese potato casserole, about 2 teaspoons.

Then I had a few more bites, about 3 hours later.

Within About an hour I was sick, feeling like I had the stomach flu. I had terrible stomach cramps, felt like I was going to vomit, but never got sick, just felt like I was going:eek: to die!

Is this an intolerance or did I just really eat too much and tick my stomch off?

thanks, I will never eat what I ate again, please dont be mean...

  12. Hi all, sorry it took so long to get back on. It was great to finally put faces with names. I must have finally found a food intolerance. We ate at Cracker Barrell after the meeting and I guess the fatty food didnt agree with me. I had serious stomach cramps, like the stomach flu. It was terrible, I wont overindulge again! I never vomited, but was praying too. Is this what they are talking about (intolerances)? I still felt so bad, I had to do liquids Sunday, and I ate a few bites today. What do yall think? thanks for all the help and support everyone! Amanda

  13. Hi, all I am a 30 yr old, mom of one precious 2 1/2 yr. old boy. I was banded on July 2nd, in alabama. My highest weight was a few days before surgery, at 239.7. I am 5'1", and as of today weigh 216.4, in two weeks!! I have lost 23 pounds, I still cant eat more than a teaspoon twice a day. My band was severely ressticted after surgery, and i have been on steroids, so I could hold down fluids. Overall, it has been great though. I am a part time RN, and full time Mommy. Thanks for all the info, hope to talk to everyone else soon!
