  1. Wow...18 hours...1200 miles...driving a big ole' Texas truck that sucks down a gallon of gas just by turning the ignitiion. (LOL)

    MIGHT BE FUN! :redface:

    Gonna check flights and cars, too. We'll see...

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    EDIT: Oh, DUH! Gas would run me about a grand alone, but flight plus car less than half that. So who knows how those bike boxes work when it comes to flying? Costs extra for the size?
    And once my beautiful girl looks like this...20-4723-BLK-MOUNTED.jpg?t=1209015890
    How would I get her back together again?
  2. BP! Sorry to hear about your ordeal today. I'm glad you made it through, relatively unscathed.
    On the other hand, that is the first lengthy post that I recall from you and it displays your wonderful sense of humor! I love it! You're a good fit here! LOL Post more often!
  3. TX - I was at dinner with the family yesterday afternoon & thought I saw you at the Pappadeaux on Central & 183 - were you there? Sorry to hear about your band issues - I'm in a similar boat. Hope it works out for you. Congratulations on your Tour Dallas & Lancaster rides. The pics are awesome - wish I could have been there with you.
    Gotta go for now - but I'll try to check in more frequently.
    Bike on,
    B
    Umm...and just WHY didn't you say hello?!?!? Yes, I absolutely LOVE their Salmon and Asparagus cooked over the fire on a cedar plank...YUM! Shame on you for not saying hello. Thanks about my band....but I think it's going to be all good. What's going on with yours? Yes, the rides were awesome, even if Lancaster DID kick my ass! Wish you could've been there, too! Are you still gonna be at the MS 150 next weekend? Yes, please check in more often...we miss you!
    Tx!!!!!! When Did Your Weight Ticker Drop So Low???? Wow!!!!!!!
    It dropped a ton last month...not so much lately. In fact, I bumped it back UP a few pounds this morning. But I'm still feeling good and it didn't really bother me, as long as it's not the beginning of a pattern! Thanks for commenting on it! I'm in a good place now, but I still want another 25 to get my legs in the same shape as the rest of me....my legs are my worst enemy!
  4. Denise...I second that motion!
    By the way, "slider foods"? Never heard that before...very appropriate term. :tongue_smilie: But I don't know of any obesity surgery that would prevent them. Gastric Bypass? Nope..."slider foods" go down just great...just ask my sis who had it a few years ago. All obesity surgeries have their pros and cons....and all of them allow "slider foods".
    These are tools. You have to be educated, prepared and psychologically/emotionally ready to use these tools appropriately.
    You have to be committed to the good and the bad.
    Getting the band won't make you not want ice cream! (Oh, how I love thee! :thumbup:)
  5. Whew! :rolleyes:
    I hope everyone can now consider this all "water under the bridge". I think everyone deserves a second chance, and Headhunter is no exception to that rule.
    There is some valuable information to be had here. My only wish is that it be presented in a thoughtful manner so as to inform and not frighten. And, of course, verifiable info is always helpful such as links to photos, articles, statistics.
    We all have had or will have tense moments on our band journey, myself no exception. It's good to know we can come here and talk it out.
    Remember during disagreements that here at LBT, we address the idea and not the person.
  6. Suzzzie - I had no idea about your TOM situation...but then, why would I?!?!? LOL You are not used to the emotional changes that it can bring, I understand. Believe it or not, I can totally relate: until I had kids, I had MAYBE three periods a year. Then I was regular as clockwork, damn it! All that emotional stuff generally goes away in a few days, though. Watching everyone eat what you can't just made things worse...you poor thing! I can't bear the thought of you standing in the corner with your veggie casserole! Big hug-hug-hugs to you!
    I think you may be right about the weight loss beginning to regulate your cycle, though. Not quite the reward you were looking for, I'm sure...but you are a nurse and you know it's a good thing, even if it's not fun.
    You are doing so incredibly well, so don't dispair! Look at your before pics and take solace from your success until these few days pass. And remember I love you, you penguin hat wearing goofball! (Maybe that's a "curse", too...but you are stuck with me nonetheless! :tongue_smilie:)
  7. Stef-all I can say is "wow". I can't even imagine going through that much for as long as you did. You truly are a warrior, almost a "guy" for not going in earlier. Guys are pretty dumb that way.:biggrin: I hope it goes better for you soon.
    Thanks, CeraDad! I like the "guy" comment! Yes, I am dumb about stuff like that...for sure. It's going marvelously now! I am not worried. Thank you for the comments!
  8. So this was about 4 weeks ago total. 5 weeks we came back from Vaction and she was getting acid reflux every night...she was afraid to see the doc as she knew it would mean an unfil. I made her go. she had no restriction for 2 weeks and was in 'party' mode. She went back two weeks later and he put 1cc. she was at 1.7cc before in her 3cc band. She feels much better restriction again now even at 1cc. She said the difference when she was unfilled was truly amazing.
    Wow! I'm glad she's doing much better. Good for you for making her go...what a good guy you are! I certainly understand the "party mode" comment! However, {knock on wood}, I really can't eat a lot. But I CAN eat! That is the important thing! I had a Cottage Double with pineapple this morning, added in another half cup or so cottage cheese to cut the sweet, and I was stuffed. That was six hours ago and I'm really not hungry still. So I'm just playing it minute by minute.
    Hey...3CC band? Who makes that? I hadn't heard of a 3CC band before. Is that what you have, too?
  9. Yes, I am a believer, BigBaby (though a hedonistic/bratty one, at times) and thank you! Thank you, too, Suze! Thank you everyone!
    It will all be okay...I have complete peace with all of this now. I'm not worried in the least.
    I don't know if I will be successful at staying unfilled, but I WILL get to goal!
  10. They asked this on one of my other threads, too...so here is a copy of what I answered:
    Yeah, I know...no one knew about it, really. As long as I didn't acknowledge it here, it wasn't really happening, right? Jeez, I can be dumb! LOL Anyhow...yes, I knew when it happened, but was powerless to stop it. When I was stuck Monday night, it got so bad that it wasn't just an attempt at a PB, it was all-out nausea-caused dry heaving. Sorry to be gross. To your band, this is vomiting whether it is productive or not. The stomach contractions caused the pouch to stretch up and over the band. Not very much, but enough to put the band at such an angle that it was like folding your garden hose in half to stop the flow of water...and nothing was going in or out without significant effort and discomfort. When they took all fill out and I drank that "lovely" barium, it was such a relief when it went right on through! Before they took all the fill out, I had drank some of it and under flouro, it was verified that even liquids weren't really going anywhere anytime soon. As soon as she pulled on the syringe and took out the fill, the barium went swishing through!
    All in all, I'm feeling pretty darn good tonight. I can eat, I'm fine with my regular small portions so far, and no misery with eating or drinking.
  11. Thanks, everyone...your support means a lot!
    Daddy, I had no idea that the same thing happened to MM! How long ago? Is she all better now? I hope so! How much fill did she get on her first fill after having it all removed? Oh, so many questions!
