Relief! My hubby came home with extra strength Tylonol. Dav pills way to big to take whole, but I am ok with the Ty. It is working well enough, and my pain gets better by the hour. Thanks for the advice peeps!

I could tell my story, but it is so similar to others, it seems repetitive. Banded 22, feeling ok. Actually hungry. I was told not to recline and to walk a lot to prevent clots. Been doing ok, but I get these burst of pain up high. I think it is gas trying to work its way out. I am burping and passing gas ok. It makes me feel kind of gross that I feel better everytime I break wind! What relief.
What is hard is drinking everthing they want me too. I have been working on a 8oz shake for over 2 hrs now. How am I going to get it all in is beyond me...
Congrads everyone!

I used liquid Tylenol too. But I also found to get past the nasty crushed pill taste thing and what worked for me was to mix the crushed pill with some Water, get a chaser of plain Water ready and HOLD your nose and down the pillwater and chase it with the other water. But the trick is to do is fast... I still could taste the pill a little but it did work fo rthe most part.:thumbup:Good luck!

I tried that, but because I can only take tiny sips, it takes too long and the bitterness makes me gag. Otherwise, I would take the Darvocet.

Thank you for all of your feedback. I am sure I don't need a doc script for liquid tylonol. The pain isn't unbearable, in fact, the most pain I have right now is from taking off those darn sticky bandages. I just want something to take the edge off.
Doc is going to call in something. Yeah!

Do you think that would work? Do I need doc permission first? All my docs are out for the rest of the week- don't think I can wait...

I was banded the 22 and looking for pain meds. Can't take loritab, vicodin, codine, and the darvocet needs to be crushed- too bitter to take. Anyone get something else liquid?

Hi,
I am 1-2 days out and can't take vicodin or codine, and the darvocet has to be crushed, which tastes so bad it makes me gag- so I can't take that either. Docs are out on holiday break- what else can I take? I need to at least get some sleep...

So I am 1-2 days out of hospital and can't take any pain meds. Does anyone else know what I can take for SOME pain releaf that is liquid? HELP!!!???

Thank you so much! I really appreciate everyones feedback. I am so nervous, but I am also exhausted. My hubby and I were up very late wrapping presents, I didn't get to bed until after 12, didn't fall asleep until after 1, and had to get up at 3:30 to switch the laundry over and get ready for today. I have been so preoccupied, I had lagged on the laundry, and had nothing "loose fitting" to wear. That being said, I will enjoy sleeping away most of today. I may be a bit lonely though. My hubby is working today, and by the time he gets home, it will be dark. Of course this means he won't bring the kids and himself to come see me, because the hospital isn't in the best part of town, and is worried something might happen. What a wuss. Thanks again everyone and cross your fingers for me. I will chime in when I get home tomorrow and let you know how everything went!

My surgery is tomorrow. I have to go in to the hospital at 5 am for surgery at 7 am. I am excited and nervous. Plus, I don't have any real loose clothes to wear- which I JUST thought of. Anything else I should take to the hospital? Was anyone bored? I will be there a full day and overnight. Will I sleep pretty much the whole time? Hope someone is still awake to respond...

I cheated one day I am sorry to say. It was a day I was home sick with severe constapation. It was so bad, I still am having trouble and bleed everytime. I kept thinking that if I was eating taco bell, this wouldn't be happening. So I ate a handful of nacho chips. I felt horrible. That was last week, and I hope it doesn't affect my surgery.

Hello, everyone, my surgery is scheduled for the 29th of this month, I am on my fourth day of the liquid diet, I have read a couple of post where people say that they are allowed to eat a small meal per day. This is not the case for me. I just happened upon this site while I was searching for the answer to a question about the length of time on the liquid diet. I dont understand why it takes so long to shrink the liver. I a out of school for winter break so I cant ask my teacher. I am starving out of my mind, I ate 5 pecan halves this morning, sorry!! but I will ask my dietitian about the small meal. does anyone know where I can get coupons for the slim fast low carb shakes? And any advice will be helpful. hungry and frustrated :biggrin:I am having my surgery on the 22, and had to liquid diet for two weeks. I am getting mine at Hurley in Michigan, and they gave me a number to call to order shakes, drinks, and Soups designed with protien and something else to help shrink the liver. I will give the website- maybe it can help you.

Just tell them what you need and they will send you the packs. Now, it is all powders, but the shakes are good, and the Fiber drinks are good too. The Soup I have to add a bullion cube, but not too bad. There are also "cool" drinks that are ok, but I can taste the Vitamins and stuff...
I drink 3 shakes, 1 cool drink, 1 Fiber drink, and 1 soup. I also must have an additional 8 oz of milk (on top of the 8 that go with each shake) and 40-60 oz of Water in addition to everything else. I can also have one Dannon lite smoothy a day. Also, sugar free non caff drinks and sugar free Jello and popcicles.
You can do it- keep going!

are you measuring how much liquid you are drinking? You might not be getting all that you think you are...also try Jello and popsicles to get in additional hydration *sugar free of course.Give your surgeon a call and see if a stool softener would be appropriate...MAKE SURE you are getting those basic 64oz a day down!
I am sure I am drinking enough, but will drink more. Unfortunatley I can not take stool softeners, don't laugh, but I am highly allergic to them. I will try the popcycles and jello, but I am concerned that I have to take a multivit., and they alone cause constapation. Adding that to my already existing problem...I should call the bariatric center...

I am on the pre-surgery liquid diet and I am extremely thirsty. I am drinking constantly- more than I need to, but nothing helps. I am also very constipated (TMI) and cause ripping an bleeding every time I have a BM. Anyone else with this problem? Oh, MOM not helping.

I'm getting banded Dec. 22. Anyone getting it so near the holidays? This liquid diet stinks. I have to do it two weeks before surgery. I know it is to loose liver weight, but it is still hard. How did everyone feel the night after and day after surgery?
-
You have to cut and paste to get it to show up.

I found out a week and a half ago my surgery is schedules for Dec. 22. I had three days to get the shakes ordered to start my liquid diet last Monday. I feel like this is going so fast. I am very excited, and nervous. It is so sad that I am upset I didn't get to eat some foods in time before this. That is how you know you are really addicted to food.< /p>

Merry Xmas everyone! I was cooking Breakfast for my family this morning, and wondering if I will EVER be able to have bacon again some day. Even half a piece would be heaven. I don't want to find out what I shouldn't eat the hard and painful way. Can I learn from some of your experiences? Share please:drool:
