  1. I've noticed the people who are "unsupportive" on this thread are so in just about any other thread on LBT, I hope Alex or any of the other moderators take notice before more people stop visiting the site. I've had my band since 08, lost 120 lbs, reached goal within 10 months until it slipped at 2 years post op after a bad stomach bug :(

It turns out every time I get near the green zone my band would slip. Since my BAND FAILED me, I'm in the works to have a revision :)

Best of luck to all who are having problems, I suggest you visit other sites also, if you feel harassed on LBT. I was very active on this site a few years ago and you would actually get SUPPORT from other users. SMH

  2. I agree with the previous replies, you just have to reassure him of your love and commitment. My husband has always been attentive towards me in the past, and I notice that now he's just a little more "protective" of me, like he won't let go of my hand for even a split second lol. I think it's got a lot to do with confidence and self-esteem (hubby is very confident and I find that extremely attractive), and just remember, talk things out with him, this may sound cliche but communication is key. Good luck

  3. Ok, I am a newbie to all the forums, but just pulled this one up.... I have my band next week, 29th, and i just don't get it...I am a size 24, yes 24, and am reading about you all being sizes 6, 12, 14.....OMG I have not seen those sizes since I was 15 yrs old, and I am almost 50!!! I cannot even being to fathom losing that much weight to be able to consider those sizes.... I will be just so thrilled to be able to get out of the "women's department" into a 16!! I am almost 300lbs and it is a bit frustrating when I read about someone doing a procedure as drastic as this when they were in 16's to begin with, or barely weigh 200lbs.

I used to think the same way when I used to read these posts, but now I can say the same, I used to be a 22 and now I'm a 12 and I'm still losing!!! You'll find that once you get past bandster hell (don't let it discourage you), you'll see the scale moving and you'll see that being smaller will be a totally realistic goal. I wish you the best of luck and I hope you love your band as much as I love mine :bored:

  4. I went on vacation to Florida last month and found that, not only was my band extra tight, but I never got hungry.I thought it may have been because we were doing all the parks, and between all the walking and the heat, my band responded that way. Well now it seems Mass is actually starting to warm up, and I've been having the same problems (not hungry at all)... last summer I hadn't reached my sweet spot yet, so I didn't have a problem then. I wonder if my body will adjust to it being warm, or if I'll have to go for an unfill  Any thoughts?

  5. I was very surprised when my shoes didn't fit anymore too. As for the rings, mine are all too big too. You can buy things at Walmart to put on them, I think they are called ring snuggies. They go on the back of the rings and make them fit. They only cost a few dollars. I am wearing them now because I don't want to have my rings resized until I get to goal.

I had to buy them too, my rings were falling off as I walked. In shoes, I went from a 10 to a 8 1/2:thumbup:

  6. I am going in for my pre-op appointment tommorrow for surgery this month, and have already been having trouble in my relationship due to the surgery. I understand he is worried about what may happen in the future, but it would be nice to be supported instead of badgered constantely about it. We have been together 2 and a half years and it definetly hasn't been the easiest relationship. The other day we were arguing and I said I needed time away from all of it, and he said we should just end it since it will be over after the surgery anyways. I think I have come to the point were if he isnt going to support my decision and attempt to be there for me as I am for him, I should just let it go and start fresh, like I'm doing with the surgery.

You know, Daney, all relationships take work and have their ups and downs, and they shouldn't be difficult or stressful, the good should always outweigh the bad,... the way I see it is, if someone is compatible with you, you should have an easy flowing relationship with a few bumps on the road... I wish you all the best with surgery and your relationship, God bless you!

  7. I've got a couple of NSV's... the main one I have to say was going to 5 parks in Orlando, FL I fitting comfortably in every single ride! And this past weekend at church I actually had someone ask me if I had plastic surgery!?!?!?! I couldn't be happier with my band and I thank God for giving me the strength and courage I needed to go on with surgery when I was terrified! LOVE MY BAND!!!

  8. I just got back from Orlando, Fl on vacation with my family, and I hadn't been there since I was a teenager (and much smaller), I was so nervous about not being able to fit on the rides. But I'm more than happy to inform that, not only did I fit, but comfortably, and with plenty of room leftover in all rides. I was able to enjoy every single ride with my family in 5 different parks. I LOVE MY BAND!!!!!
