  1. I just had my first fill Friday and I have the 4cc band. She put in 2.75cc's first, had me wait about 5 minutes and then drink some Water and it came right back up. She went back in and took out .5cc's and left me with 1.75. She would not let me leave until she made sure that the Water stayed down this time. I know that every doc is different, but in my opinion I think that every doc should at least make sure you can tolerate water before they let you leave their office!!

It's been 4 days since my fill and I basically have no restriction at this point, so I'm thinking that maybe she took too much out the second time around. I'm going to wait a couple of weeks before I have more put in.

I think we really just have to take it one day at a time! Good luck!!

  2. I got my first fill today and I had food get stuck twice and OUCH did it hurt!!! I just slowed down and chewed my food more and kept on eating. I never felt that "full" feeling or any kind of restriction but I just stopped myself from eating.

I know its only been a few hours since I had my first fill, but I was expecting to feel satisfied after a few bites. I hope that maybe my restriction will show up at some point.

  3. It's really odd that you started this thread, because I have been suffering with the same thing as you have described. I have only been on solids for about 4 days now, but my stomach has been burning like a bonfire day and night. I'm pretty sure it is the over production of acid. My mom has had the same thing and she has been on Prevacid for several months now. I hope to go to the doctor this week.

Good luck to you and I hope you get good news from your biopsy!!

  4. I am currently 24 days post op and began eating solids on Thursday. My problem is that no matter what I eat, my stomach hurts really bad afterward. The pain is a burning sensation. I'm not eating spicy foods and I'm not eating alot of anything, so I'm thinking this might be an ulcer.

Has anybody else experienced this and does anybody have any idea what might be causing this??

    Thanks for your input!

  5. I too am really confused by this "to drink or not to drink issue". To me, it is not natural to not drink while you eat. While I have managed to refrain from drinking while eating, it's still the hardest part so far for me. And to top it all off, without drinking while I am eating, it's really hard for me to get all of my Water in for the day. I'm so busy some days, that I can't keep a bottle of Water in my hand.

I wish all doctors could get together and put this issue to rest one way or the other for all of us!!

  6. Hey there, I'm 3 weeks post op as well but I'm a little different in that I don't have an appetite at all. I was on a 3 week liquid post op diet that ended Wednesday and I basically was surviving on Water and chocolate milk the last 10 days. I guess my body was in starvation mode and I only lost 10 pounds in those 3 weeks. :tt2: I don't know if that explains why I don't have an appetite but I guess in a way it's a good thing. When I do try to eat my stomach hurts so bad that I don't want to eat anymore. It feels like maybe I have an ulcer or something. Anyway, good luck to you!!

  7. Hi everybody!! I have been reading alot of the posts on this thread and I had a couple of questions I thought maybe some of you biking pros might be able to answer.

I've been thinking about getting a bike and I looked at a Trek (can't remember the model). What do you all think of this brand and do you have any other suggestions?? Also, I'm worried about the little bike seats, they hurt my butt really bad!! Is this something you just have to get used to or should I get a bigger seat??

    Thanks for all your input!!

  8. I am 12 days post op and I still have some port pain also. It's just kind of a dull ache. It happens most when I've been on my feet all day and have been getting up and down alot. My incision looks great and the tissue is not swollen around it so I think it's just part of our bodies getting used to this foreign object embedded in us.

Of course this is just my experience, so if you are worried contact your doc..

  9. My band was slipped.

Too badly inflamed to reposition it.

    It's gone.

    All my fault.

My advice to anyone....follow the rules.

If you start BPing every day, you'd better make that stop.

Even if it doesn't seem to bother you at the time.

I'm here in Tijuana until tomorrow.

Let me just say first of all how sorry I am that you had to have your band removed. I hope that you can find another way to maintain your weight loss.

In your post you say that it was all your fault that you didn't follow the rules. If you don't mind would you tell us what rules you broke or what you think in particular caused you to lose your band?? I am currently 10 days post op and I am scared to death of doing something wrong..

Also I just noticed that you had your band removed on the same day as my surgery.. I too was at Dr.Ortiz's clinic the same day as you..small world..

    Thanks for your advice..

  10. I was banded on the 29th and I started itching about 3 days ago. Mine actually started near my waistline. It's just a small area there, but I also have one small line of rash near where my port is. It's very itchy and kind of looks like small blisters.. I'm going to call my doc today..

  11. I too was banded the 29th and I'm really bloated and my ankles and fingers are really swollen. Is everybody else retaining alot of Water too?? I'm also having some kind of spasm in my stomach. It lasts for about 4 seconds and I just breathe through it. Is anybody else having this too??

Other than those issues, I'm doing okay. My head hunger is trying to get the best of me, but it's close to that TOM so it too shall pass!!

    Good luck to everybody!!

  12. You must have read my post wrong. I am in Canada - so for me I have to pay with canadian $ - so I have to write a cheq in US funds - but that costs me a lot more in Canadian funds. I didnt know where you were located - so I was saying if you are in Canada it is more than $7950 to us.

Oh Okay mansaw, I knew that you were in Canada and I just forgot... Sorry, I guess I'm just freaking out because it's getting so close to my surgery date.. Thanks..

  13. yah - being that they take US funds...I it cost me - I think it was $8975ish - I cant remember the exact number...u can go to an online currancy calculator to see what it would cost u today.

But - yes it did include three days at the hotel and the clinics bus picks you up from the airport, takes u to the hotel, takes u to the clinic and back to the hotel/airport when needed and that is all incuded in that cost.

Make sure u have aftercare arranged as well. I have a fill doctor lined up here who will do Mexican patients free (at a hospital here and I have to have an order from my family doctor). BUT - I loved the OCC so much, and had such a great time and met some great people so I have decided to go back their for my fills.

Hey mansaw! What is this about exchange rates?? I was not told anything about that by my patient coordinator?? I was told the price was $7950 and that was it!! My surgery is a week from tomorrow. I guess I should call my coordinator today and enquire, huh??

  14. I just wanted to let you know that I have saline implants and I have been very happy with them. They are very natural looking and feeling and I have no ripples or puckering. Mine were placed under the muscle with 390 cc's and they put me in a 36 C bra. I was pretty slim at the time I got them and since then have gained all my weight. Now I am in a 42 DD. I hope like he!! they go back down after I lose this weight!!

Anyway, I chose saline because of the hassle of the MRI test every 2 years and if for some reason they did leak, I knew that my body would absorb the saline.
