I feel I like a failure bc I'm back to eating my carbs and sugars. I don't know how to stop but today is a new day and I'll do my best. I need advice. How does one go back to the good ol'days?

Displaced Va Girl got a reaction from Hopscotch in What rule(s) do you let yourself break?
Well, to be honest, there isn't a rule I haven't broken bc the surgery was done on my stomach not my brain. That being said, I'm REALLY trying to control my mistakes. I'm not perfect and I don't beat myself up anymore. I just improve my habits daily.
    Yesterday I ate
Weight watchers Protein chicken Pasta for Breakfast
an Asian salad w/chicken for lunch
Fig newton and a Krispy Kreme donut for snack (please don't judge me. I had a weak moment and I know it).
Piece of pita bread with caramelized onions for dinner
I don't drink enough Water (I'm working on that) but I drink 2 cups of coffee a day.

We are at exactly starting weight and height. And had surgery about one month apart. Just go completely back to Protein first. Keep it simple. Less stress on yourself. Can you do eggs for Breakfast? Grill chicken, grill or steam fish for lunch and dinners? I only recently started adding in veggies and romaine lettuce, and most days I only eat a few bites. I recently started enjoying homemade grilled cesar salad. I tale this with me in the car. I was concentrating so hard on my protein and my restriction kicks in pretty quickly. I also very recently added in a half apple most days. I so missed fruits and veggies. I still don't do any carbs except what I get in my two cups of skim milk a day. I don't snack, except for the half apple. I try to eat as soon as I get hungry, but will take almonds, hard boiled eggs and cheese with me if I have to be in my car for awhile. I ALWAYS leave the house with at least 4 cups of Water. Try to I eep it simple and hang in there. Have you tried buying store made roasted chicken? Very convenient. Best
    water.

Type "Recipe Frenzy" in the search bar. Bobbyswife put a post together that includes a collection of free, downloadable bariatric or weight loss cookbooks available online. They are great!
The previous responder that mentioned going back to the beginning of the post op diet, is correct. I wanted to lose 5 in a week in order to fit into a Christmas dress, so I just duplicated my first week post op diet. It worked! I actually lost 6 pounds! I think it is a good kick start to getting back on track again. Good luck!

I hear lots of good things about eggface. http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/
I don't eat a big variety of things and tend to eat the same thing day after day, but I've seen lots of recommendations for eggface's website. Tons of food ideas and recipes.< /p>

I am 14 weeks out and have lost 37lbs. Premier Protien shakes from Sams Club have been a blessing !!! I am having a hard time keeping a good diet bc I get hungry and don't have time to eat 5 times a day. I only lose weight if I walk and I rarely find the time.
I won't give up! Good luck!!!

Lactaid fat free milk with 1tsp instant coffee is my lifesaver! My dietian said it won't kill me if I had one a day but not tell the surgeon.

Don't beat yourself up! It's a learning process. I had my surgery end of May. I was 309 pounds. Only a few months out and I'm 217 today. I made a few mistakes at first but then did my best to avoid what was bad for me. You can do it. Remember what is only a few months away. I have a much better sex life with my wife. all new clothing and confidence through the roof. It's worth it to stay strong!

I was sleeved Aug. 28, 2014 and I am sick of shakes, broths, Water, and pain. I'm hungry and want some real food. I know it's only been 10 days but I have licked on a spoon of Greek yogurt and I sneaked an elbow macaroni, chewed it very well and swallowed. Damn it felt good. I won't do it again bc I've come to far to screw up now but I needed to have my moment.
Hang in there, you are not alone.

I think we were all addicted to eating or we wouldn't be in this shape. But I can tell you each day it will get better !! I didn't like broth . It needed more flavor. I love choc premiere shakes ! And Unjury chic Soup. I am now 5 1/2 months post surgery and today fit in a size 12 pants! They were snug but I FIT ! I have had two stalls on the scales but I stuck to the routine Protein first low carbs. I was wearing a 22 pant prior to surgery !!

    Congratulations on getting sleeved up!
I have yet to be sleeved, looking at December now. As excited as I am, I am anticipated it being a very difficult process that will involve grieving. I have used food as a drug all my life and I know having to change that is going to be the hardest thing I have ever done. I believe the journey does become less of a struggle but it still will have challenges. It takes a lot of courage to do what you just did:)
All the best! A new and much better life is waiting to be lived

Good luck to everyone!!! I'm so proud to be a part of a brave group of people. My surgery is August 28 and I'm nervous too but my friend looked at me and said "don't be scared, you are doing the surgery that we all want. You're the lucky one".
Best of health to you all

Thank you all for putting a voice to what I have been SO ASHAMED to verbally acknowledge. I used to model professionally, loved beautiful clothes, and felt great about myself. I too do not understand how I let myself get into this condition, but felt POWERLESS to stop eating. I really appreciate your comments as it helps me to understand that I'm not the only one who knows better, but has TOTALLY lost control. I have been successful in every area of my life EXCEPT managing my weight. I hope the Sleeve will help me to gain control and confidence again. I will be here to support each of you as you progress towards a healthier version of yourself! Thank you all for sharing your thoughts.

Omg I'm in the same boat! How did this happen to me? I'm mad at myself but at the same time I don't know how I could of stopped it. I'm so uncomfortable in ANYTHING I wear, my size 18 is getting to tight and I feel so alone and humiliated. My husband is gorgeous and I know people are wondering why he hasn't left. All my friends are tiny and I hate taking photos.
I'm lucky bc I've always loved myself and I'm a bit selfish. If I could only get through jumping hoops for my insurance co. and get the sleeve so I can take care of myself the way I should have. I deserve. Second chance and so do you.
We WILL get through this, I promise!
