  1. Outstanding! I bet you are excited!
  2. Did they use a fluoroscope to locate your port? My PA sprayed me with topical anesthesia and located my port with the machine and stuck it bullseye first time. I never felt anything, except once he got it in the port, it kind of wiggled and tickled and made me laugh. I don't have any pain today either. I asked him about it beforehand, told him some of the stories on here, and he said a lot of doctor's just stick and stick until they find it. I think if that were the case I'd be marking that bad boy with a magic marker so next time, they'd know.
  3. I agree, I think a fill after one week would be dangerous. The PA in my doctor's office says it can take up to two weeks after the fill to really know how you are doing. However, it's absolutely your choice. Just make sure you drink some soup or something before you leave your doctors. My friend had her second fill done too soon (and too much), and drove all the way back home (an hour) and realized she had messed up, was in pain all night and had to go back in the morning to have half of it taken out.
  4. Steve-- Keep the faith, I was banded 11/24 too and haven't experienced any weight loss the last two weeks, no fluid in at surgery either. Just had my fill today, and am not hungry at all. What's more, don't let the horror stories on here scare you, it didn't hurt at all! Elyse
  5. And would somebody please tell this newbie what PB means? I'm so lost.......LOL
  6. Oh man, do I EVER have this problem. Seems like my first bite of anything at any meal is stuck there. Can't drink with it, just makes it worse, but after a couple of minutes it finally passes. I'm assuming it's because I am just not mindful enough and haven't chewed well, although I do try to make a conscious effort. I think it's all about just being cautious and making good choices. I don't have problems with steak, chicken is a pain in the rear. Bread doesn't bother me. Hard boiled eggs are the worst. They just seem to stick back together once they get down there.
  7. Ok, all you experienced banders. I am newly banded (just this last Monday). Today, both my kids have got the stomach flu and are throwing up. Obviously, I'm concerned that since I'm newly banded, should I catch it and have violent vomiting I will displace my band. Anyone have any experience with a stomach bug after being banded?

    Stomach Flu?

Well, I don't know how, but I escaped without vomiting. Turns out my mother infected nearly the entire family on Thanksgiving. She had it the day before but thought she was ok, but was really still contagious. Out of 17 people, 14 got it. The hubby started throwing up shortly after the kids, and I really thought about going to the ER to be safe. I did have a couple of phenergan suppositories, that were two years old, so I used them, but was already in the throes of it. I had horrible diarrhea and stomach cramps and general lethargy, but never felt like I was going to vomit. Don't know if it was sheer grace of God, or if it was because I had just had the surgery and my stomach was so messed up that the bug couldn't take hold, or (although they say penicillin doesn't work on viruses) if it was the massive shots of antibiotics I got on surgery day. Either way, I hope NONE of you get it, it was particularly virulent AND violent.

    Post op diet phases

Hi I was banded on Monday, November 24. I am on clear liquids for three days, then full liquids for 5 days. Then on "mushies" for three weeks. I feel pretty good, some pain directly above my belly button--bloated! Ugh. Did anyone else gain a few pounds right after surgery from the bloat?
