Folding Sheets, or, My Idea Of Hell

Wow, I thought I was the only person that hated folding laundry and never ironed my husbands shirts! Now, the cat on the other hand thinks I'm wonderful 'cause he has this super comfy basket to lay in with soft materials!! lol You all have helped lift a terrible guilt load off my soul! roflol!!

    What kind of pets?

O.K. I'm gonna have to learn how to post pictures. I have a Pembroke Welsh Corgi - Tricolor. He is an absolute clown - very gentle spirit and always smiling. We call him Colonel (dog in charge). He does try to heard stuff. We went to pick up some hay (for the 3 horses we have) at a friends place and wondered where Colonel went. Here he came up the fence line hearding the sheep - he was only a pup at the time! Then there is Molly. Her momma was a Jack Russell and daddy was a "Ramblin' Man". Probably some type of terrier or even a boxer. She is all energy - definately a type A personality. She has super long legs and can keep up with a horse at a gallop. She is (ugh) a great rat and mouse killer. My husband is crazy about her. Then there is our 18lb fat Orange Marmalade cat (Scooter) that sleeps 23 and a 1/2 hours a day. He likes to bring treats like lizards into the house. I have to really watch him in the summer when he's at the door. I've had to chase down more than one little reptile in the house that got away from his clutches. Terry

    Who Did You Tell?

I told my husband and 2 friends. However, my husband told EVERYBODY he could think of! I had people coming up asking me about it at church, etc. Needless to say, I had a little "chat" with DH. Terry

    Anyone in the DFW area?

I live a bit away from DFW area, but my doc is Dr. Smith in FW. I have had my initial appts with him and the dietician and counselor - waiting on a surgery date. I really like reading the board here - gives me lots of encouragement. Thanks to Everyone!
  6. I know this really dates me, but I always like the gal that played "Wonder Woman". I can't even remember her name. She has some meat on her bones, but looked really great.
  7. I'm pretty new too! I have my first doctor consult tomorrow. Excited, but a little nervous. I hope to have surgery sometime in June or July. Biker Grammy, I live in Texas, but at the other end of the State. I know there are a lot of Texas bandsters out there. Just keep lookin and I'm sure you find some in your area. Terry

    Fun thread: foreign languages

I had a good friend in 9th grade that was blind. She taught me how to read braille. I can't do it with my fingers, but I still remember those little dot patterns that stand for the alphabet. So, I can read those patterns on the top of the plastic lids like from McDonalds and bathroom signs, lol. I'm also from Texas and we certainly have our own way of sayin' thangs. Terry

    Goals of all kinds

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Back to goals. Ride my horse - fast, over fences, around barrels or just enjoy a trail ride without wearing me out, much less the horse. Go camping with DH and be able to even get in and out of the tent. Terry

I "wolf" and I'm trying to stop!

Thanks for this thread. I've been pondering on the same subject.I'm not banded yet and I've been noticing how fast I eat and how large the bites are. I'm really trying to be aware of my own habits and what I need to change.

Really stupid things people have shared with you

Way back when we first sent men to the moon, (I was just a little girl - showing my age here), I had an elderly great aunt that thought it was all a big prank, that it really couldn't happen. My dad asked her why and she said they would burn up because the moon was hot like the sun. My dad tried explaining it all to her -- no it's not hot, -- it just reflects the sun, etc.. But, she never believed him. Said it was all just a joke by the T.V. people. Terry

    Do you tan?

I saw that news report too! Something about how all the sun releases endorphins - feel good natural drug (lol). Seems some people are more receptive to it than others. Terry

is there no one else here from Utah??

I went to college in Utah and stayed about 15 years. It was a beautiful place, but hard for me to make a living, so I moved back to what many around here refer to as "Gods Country" (lol) in Texas.

    First NSV's for me

Audra, It's wonderful that you are able to be healthier so quick - that you can stop some previously needed meds! I take Rx for blood pressure, arthritis, reflux, Fluid retention and am hoping that post band I can reduce or stop some of these meds. It is so inspiring to hear everyone tell about how much better they feel. That is one of my main goals - to be healthier - not just focused how tiny I can be. I have my first appointment with Dr. Smith on May 31. I am soooo excited to get this show on the road. I attended one of his seminars and was very impressed with his professional (but down to earth), caring manner. Keep us posted on your NSV!!!

    my plane ride home...

This was a great thread. I won't be flying, but will have about a 5 hour car ride for my surgery. I know that I can stop and get out pretty much when I want, but it was good to know before what to expect. Thanks

    My NSV At Dress Barn

Again - Congratulations!!! It must feel spectacular. I am so hoping I can join you someday in that discovery.
  20. Just saying hello. I am new to this site. I have been "lurking" and researching the Band for some time. I have attended two different doctor seminars and have selected a doctor. My first appointment will be on May 31 with Dr. Adam Smith in Fort Worth. I live about 4 hours drive away, but I am really impressed with this Doc and his staff. I will be self-pay. My group insurance excludeds ANYTHING related to obesity. It was not easy coming up with the $$$, but I really believe this will be worth it. I am thankful I have a hubby that supports me in this decision. There is some really great information and support here. Thanks to everyone that makes it possible.
