  1. My tummy has rumbling and tumbling noises seems like non-stop. Too many close cases where gas turned out to be diarrhea. When will this part end? I ate two fiber one yogurts and 24 grams of protien today.
  2. I really like the Atkins shakes and they come in lots of flavors. Chicken and beef granules not cubes were great too. My absolute favorite was Campbells Soup at hand, the creamy tomato or tomato parmesean bisque. V8 also makes some creamed soup in a box that are good. I did the squash and pea soup. Both were very tasty. Best yogurt I found was Fiber one Key lime pie. YUM! Good luck. THe day is near!

    3 days post op diarrhea

Why did you have to have your band revised? Slippage? Is there anything we can do to avoid this?

    February '09 bandsters?

I had the worst of left shoulder pain today. I hardly have had any up until today. It passed pretty quickly with stretching and I had my husband "knock" on the area to help move or break it up. I cannot stop burping. I burp loudly all the time with no matter what liquid I take. I have been blending soups that really hold down my hunger for hours. Today I made a potato cheese and chicken soup. Blended it up and drank about a cup which kept me full for nearly 4 hours. I hope that continues to be the case. I am not getting enough water:frown:. That is the hard part for me.
  5. Hey Banderoo! Got your PM and so good to hear from you. You had me so worried. Keep in touch now and let us know what the doctor says tomorrow. Things have got to get better!

    Any February 2009 Bansters?

OMG! Although I have not had this happen as I am still on liquids too it is my worst nightmare. I am sure the piece will break down and pass. I have read here that some folks use an herbal digestive aid called Papaya enzyme. I bought some but have not had to use it yet and hope I won't have to. I have no idea how it works. I would love to know from others what length of time it takes for something like this to pass through. Let us know your outcome and good luck.

    1 week post op..and i am confused

I like everyone else deals with the port soreness. It does get a little better every day. I was banded this past Tuesday. The belching is non-stop, gas x or not, but not painful now. My legs/calves are sore. I have been walking a lot in the house to relieve gas. But besides feeling like I did a thousand sit ups it feels like I walked several miles. Even my thighs are sore. Could this be the up and down I do from sitting to standing? I don't feel weak. I am blending real soups for nutrition and that keeps me satisfied along with other liquids. Luckily I have two weeks off for this surgery. I don't think I could contain the gas to go back this week.

    BeneProtein?

I honestly think its pretty tasteless. I too have issues with taste and smell of protein powders. I had it in chicken and beef broth and the saltiness of the broth was what I tasted. I drank one scoop in 1 cup of 2% milk and sugar free carnation instant breakfast this morning. This was a whopping 18 grams of protein in 1 cup of fluid! It tasted great!

    Any February 2009 Bansters?

It's probably where your port is located. That is where my pain is and yes it feels like a pulled muscle when I cough or deep breathe. I have to put pressure on the area sometimes when I get up or turn in bed. I was just banded this past Tuesday. I just wonder how long this will be felt? Does it ever go completely away? Does a fill aggravate it?

    February '09 bandsters?

I would probably keep with foods with as much fiber as possible. Fiber is supposed to keep you full longer. Carbohydrates and fat will only add unwanted calories. I say eat as much as you want but of good foods not fatty, sweet or carb choices until you see your nutritionist.

    Any February 2009 Bansters?

Blood thinner therapy is common after surgery. I got 3 shots a day for the two days I was in the hospital. Maybe you have to do your shots because of the added procedure of hernia repair. Either way a little pinch of a needle a couple of times a day is better than a blood clot anytime. Hang in there. Report any abnormal bruising or gum bleeding too.
  15. My burps rate on the scale of 8s and 9s on a 1-10 scale. It does not hurt as much anymore as I was banded this past Tuesday. Mostly it happens after eating or drinking anything. Its like a hiccup burb and several loud ones in a row. I started using Gax X as someone here recommended. No real difference noted. Excuse me is becoming my middle name.
  16. Banderoo....are you doing any better? Keep in touch.

    Post-Op Food Suggestions

Campbell's creamed soup at hand was a big thing for me. V8 has a couple of creamed soups out too. The butternut squash was very tasty. Cup o soup tomato and cream of chicken were okay. Fiber one yogurt is the very best especially key lime pie and I normally hate yogurt. Atkins protein shakes were well tolerated by me. Lots of good flavors like mocha and caramel. Kellog's K20 ice tea and beef/chicken boullion granules (not boullion cubes) for broth mixed with beneprotein powder. The obvious sugar free puddings. This has been my life for nearly three weeks now. Two weeks pre-op and this week post-op. Can't wait to bite into something with substance.
  18. Oh...one thing I should have added here. ICE PACK to port site. THis has helped tremendously! Get one today!
  19. Oh Banderoo....I am so sorry you had so much pain! I just came across your post today. I had quite a bit too on day two. I was taking Oxycodone liquid because Vicodin or Loratab make me itch. I took 5cc when I got home and damn near overdosed myself. I was a wreck. I was in pain, anxious and felt like I wanted to climb the walls. I literally started having a panic attack. Luckily I had a Xanax, took that and slept 12 hours only getting up to pee. I was tough but each day got better. You and I and a few other were all banded on the same day so I hope to God you guys are feeling alittle better each day. Today is my best day so far. I just have to make sure I don't over do it. Take care. Let me know how you are doing.

    Any February 2009 Bansters?

I agree. I had my surgery on Tuesday. I am just now feeling pretty good. I just had a half cup of key lime yogurt. Took me a half hour to eat it but boy was it good. I imagine I will be able to eat solids in a couple of weeks and start experimenting with how they go down. I want to avoid feeling sick as much as possible. Hey, if I can do this so can you. I am a big chicken!

    February '09 bandsters?

Got home yesterday after surgery on Tuesday. Thank God too, I could not stand that hospital any longer. IT was so dry there. I felt I could not breathe. My voice was even gone. I feel much better now that I am home. Still sore. Feels like I was kicked hard or did 1000 sit ups. Port site is pretty tender. Oxycodne really messed me up. I am not taking that unless I can't stand the pain. I will stick to liquid tylenol instead. So glad this part is over and I can get back to losing more weight now. I lost 9# on the liquid diet!

    Any February 2009 Bansters?

Well I was banded Tuesday. The best thing I could think to bring was a small bottle of chlorseptic spray and a good lip balm. I also had a few tic tacs. It was SO dry in there. THat was my biggest complaint. My mouth and throat felt like a desert. I was not allow ice chips the first day so the swabs with water helped. Ice packs to my port site and mid section helped. I luckily found a comfortable position lying on my side without the port and slept most of the time. Good luck. If I made it then anyone can.

    Liquid diet time

I came home yesterday too. Too wiped out to get on the computer. Had a funky reaction to my Oxycodone syrup. I think I will still with Tylenol syrup. Sore around my mid section. Feels like I did a thousand sit ups. Plus my port site is pretty tender. Not feeling like eating or drinking and forcing myself to do that. But I am on the road to recovery now! Congrats to all the February Bandsters!

    Liquid diet time

The clear liquid diet is much harder that the full liquids in my opinion. I am on day two of clear liquids and I feel like I am starving. I did not feel this way on 10 days of full liquids. I did lose 8# in the past 11 days though. Well, tomorrow is the surgery so hopefully drugs will prevent me from feeling hungry.

    February '09 bandsters?

My surgery is tomorrow and I know I can make the rest of the day on clear liquids. Its been hell for two days. I much prefer the full liquid diet. Can't wait for my first protein shake (God, I can't believe I said that). I lost 8# so far on 10 days full liquids and two days clear.
