  1. Hey There! Your picture looks great! I need to get one updated on here, too. I havent been on here in quite a while, need to get back on it.

I've lost 72 lbs so far, and have been stuck there since about Christmas! Doc says my body went into 'maintenance mode' and i jsut need to kick-start it. Easier to say than to do! LOL But even if I never los another pound i'm pretty happy still with the surgery!

    How are you doing???

  2. You'll do great, I know it! Please write when you can, and let me know how you do! Also, I've found if I start feeling 'weak' and wanting something I shouldn't have, I come hear and read some blogs while i'm drinking a big glass of Crystal Light. It usually works well. But be prepared for the cravings. When you start getting less carbs, your body will start to have cravings. Lasted about a week or 10 days for me at first. Now they aren't so often, but I still get one occassionally.

My response is too long on here, so i'll wait to hear from you via email to answer the rest fully.

Good luck! Think Thin!!!!! and Think Healthy!!!!!!

  3. Hi! Welcome! I was banded on Nov 26, just over 6 weeks ago. I started at 249, and was only a few lbs lighter for surgery, so I use that as my start wt. Right now, i'm at 213, so I've lost 36 lbs! I had a very easy surgery and recuperation and I followed my Drs orders post-surgery. That's critical. Where are you getting banded? In the US or Mexico? I live in MD, and was banded by Dr. Greened. You should also jump on the blogs and ask lots of questions. Most of the people are great, and although none of us are Drs, learning from our own experiences and those of others that have gone through it is very good. The surgery is definitely worth it and I totally understand you wanting more info.

Let me know if you have any more questions. I check the forum and email almost every day. Feel free to email me directly, My email is rhondapeer@yahoo.com.

Best of luck to you!!!!! You'll do great!!!!

  4. Jewel,

Yeah! I'm so glad you're doing well!

I havent had any dizziness, but my Dr. warned me it might happen. He said that it can be caused by low carbs. His suggestion was to drink a glass of skim milk in the morning, and one at night if necessary. So far, i've only been doing one a day, but i'm also taking my calcium citrate with D, so that could be helping!

I'm so glad you're doing well! Keep in touch and keep up the good work!

  5. Hi Jewel, how are you doing post-op? I'm 4 days post-op and doing great, i think! The gas pains in my left shoulder are about the worst complaint I have now. I was constipated at first, but I have that under control now, i hope!

Write back if you have time.
