Wow I've got questions for ya Firday was 2 weeks since surgery
If you look at my food journal you'll see what I find amazing. I started mushies on Friday and this weekend I ate canned venison, pizza, broiled cod, cheese and venison sausage. I don't think of these as mushies. Had no problems eating them though.
I drank 5 glasses of wine on Saturday night at party with past co-workers. I know that wasn't smart.
Also cals are way up to about 1400 day. Is this acceptable?
What are mushies?
Could I have damaged anything? I don't think so, and feel good.
What should one be consuming 2 weeks after surgery?
As far as streghting my pouch shouldn't I have thrown up because of over stuffing?
Did I over stuff?
Any advice please

Thank you health4life for your input. Talked with doc today and he said "no problem chewing now" after surgery you suck in air and it can give you an uncomfortable feeling.
Later, shouldn't be a problem.

I just started my 2 week pre-op liquid diet.< /p>
Major headaches and this is only day 2.
My question is can I chew sugar-free gum?
I like to chew gum and forgot to ask Doctor

Hi Steve
I'm into day two with the liquid diet, this is pretty tough.
My head is pounding all the time and I'm so hungry. I heard it gets better after the 3rd day, I hope so.
Hope your having a great weekend

I just received a call and was told that my Dr will not be able to do my surgery now for 3 or more months
I could still have surgery on scheduled date but if I'm willing to have another Doc do it.
Has anyone had surgery or fills by Dr Sunby?
Blessings

I've used them in my practice for certain conditions for over 30 years. There's a lot of variables that can only be accurately assessed by someone familiar with your situation. This is a question you need to review with your local physician regarding YOUR specific physical issues.
Hi Jack,
I only use it for relaxing and stress, no problems that require the use.
My concern is will it pull the tube from port to band and do any damage?
Peace

Hi,I am looking for a couple of people who would like to join my little support group. So far our group consists of :
Me- I was banded in November and have lost 35lbs.
My Sister- She had the by-pass surgery 2 weeks ago.
My Mom- She is scheduled for the Lap-band.
A couple of our kids who are over weight and we're taking them on this journey with us!
I have created a website where I post a suggested menu for the week. We do weekly weigh ins, post food and exercise journals, share recipes and NSV's with each other. Basically it's a very family oriented support group/website. If you would like to join, let me know and I'll send you a link to join our group. Good Luck to all.....We can do this!!
Hi Mrboswell,
I would love to join your group, and share in your support group website.
A little info about myself, I'm 45 years old and been overweight most of my life.
I got married at the age of 18 to a girl I met in high school.
At that time I weighed 142 pounds, now I'm twice the man I was then.
I work as a Mental Health Tech and love my job.
I also use music to help people deal with stress, depression and anxiety. I believe everyone has a song within them to bless others.
I weigh 294 pounds and want to drop 100 to 115 pounds
I start my pre surgery diet on Friday with surgery on Feb 6th, 2009
I would like to find friends who would like to help each other in this journey of weight loss.
Blessings

Hi there,I'm 51, an ex music teacher and have lost 149 pounds since November 2007. I also have had depression. Guess we share a lot in common.
I'd be glad to be a buddy, even though we are on a different continent to eachother. That's the beauty of the internet!
Find out a little about me at my blog - address in my signature and if you think I can be of use, let me know.
Hi Steve,
When you began your journey with your weight loss did you go on the liquid diet? If so, how long did your's last. Also what advice would you have for the first week after surgery? Is there anything you wish you could have done different that week?
Have a great day

Great question, my boss wants to know how much time is needed. I have 146 hours of sick time allowed, but think I'll need 4-5 days. Is that about right?
Surgery on Feb 6th

what the heck is your sweet spot and is it like your stomach growling?

I'm so excited, I just can't hide it
I'm about to lose control and I think I like it
Just got excepted for surgery, it will be on Feb 6th, 2009
Have to meet with surgeons, nutritionist and others?
Insurance will pay for lap band or by pass. I’m leaning towards lap band.
Any suggestions?
Merry Christmas
