  1. I thought it was just me.....I had to come on today to see if anyone out there was experiencing the same (no restriction). I am expected to stay on a 1200 cal/day diet...ON MY OWN! FOOLISHNESS! Although I try to really be conscience of the things I eat it would be a greater help if I COULDNT get the bad stuff down then maybe I wouldnt try. I was banded Nov 13th @ 239lbs today after 3rd fill with now 6.5cc (at least thats what they tell me) I am 224lbs.....I thought this fill would have given me this "sweet spot" I hear so much about but nope....for lunch I was able to eat a whole chicken breast, a whole plate of salad and a cookie. I know I dont feel hungry but to tell you the truth I "CAN" eat some more so now I am doing fruit and Water for the rest of the day. The real challenge is when I get home...and no I am not eating and drinking, I sometimes forget to drink so busy looking for the restricition. WHERE IS THE DAMN SWEET SPOT!!!! DISTRESSED! :bananalama:
  2. My clinic's stats are that the regular moderate drinkers lose weight better than non drinkers - although they're unable to offer an explanation why. Thats all I needed to hear/read.....CHEERS! HAPPY NEW YEAR!:thumbup:
  3. Hi all, Had my first fill yesterday, and to my surprise it was a piece of cake....my surgeons nurse did it..she also felt around located my port a quick pinch and before I knew it she was done. I now have 4cc's in my 11cc band, the funny thing is I seem to have more restriction with things like coffee & oatmeal, but can eat a whole slice of pizza....HHHHmmm :rolleyes2: So for the next few days I guess I'll go on an oatmeal diet! :cursing:
  4. O.k. they tell you mushies for a few days....but I cant lie, I work at a doctors' office and we get food catered all the time (so you know where I am going with this). Today they brought us pizza and Pasta and salad....I had a slice of pizza b/c I figured will be mushy in my mouth...once I finished I was still hungry and had no restrictions, so I went for the past which had broccoli, chicken and sun dried tomatos in it...still hungry...so now I am just trying to fill up on water.....tonight I'll eat a salad.. and have a sf popsicle... the funny thing is when I got here (still at work) I made a cup of coffee and a pkt of oatmeal and that filled me up more than lunch....dont know what thats about but the fill was sooo simple and really only took about 5mins if that long. I'm not sore or anything THANK GOD! but I am realizing with this thing it really is about what you FIND that makes you full quicker and SELF SELF SELF CONTROL b/c otherwise it can be a waste if you dont try and work at it....
  5. Well dont worry because at least your not gaining....the weight is probably a few things..fluid (salt retention), plus your working out and so it may be your losing fat and gaining muscle... for I just TRY to eat small portions and the healthy stuff first..I TRY to get some activity in during the day..mostly at work on treadmill and limit my intake at night to mostly fluids...WATER, Water, WATER...I GOT MY FIRST FILL THIS MORNING....to tell you the truth I dont feel much restriction at all but...hey they say its still early yet...KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK....WE CAN DO IT GURL!
  6. Sometimes/most times its not so much what we say but how we say it. Though I think both parties have very valid points WE ALL ARE FAR FROM PERFECT AND "DISCIPLINED," BECAUSE IF WE WERE WHY WOULD WE NEED THE BAND IN THE FIRST PLACE???? I have found the people on this website to be soooo encouraging and informative, for the most part and theres always some one out there that can relate.....I just hope the girl doesnt get discouraged and come down too hard on herself....if its any consulation (?) I was banded Nov 13th and I still struggle with my eating, granted everyday it really does get better and better. Yes even my "discipline". It just comes with researching (the different forums) and experimenting...for me its just teaching the tricks of eating healthy....like try an apple with Peanut Butter before your meal....talking about restriction! and oatmeal in the morning and a cup of coffee does it for me from 8am til 12....thats just me....everybody has to learn how/what to eat for themselves, just dont give up and try to really give it some effort......REMEMBER ITS ABOUT UR OWN EFFORTS AND UR OWN PACE AND WHAT ULTIMATELY WORKS FOR YOU.....THE BAND IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT!!! SO MAKE IT WORK FOR YOU!!! GOD BLESS US ALL!
  7. Sorry for the late reply.....I was in bed the entire weekend.....burrr its soooo cold! Otherwise my week was fine, just trying to get back on track and really work on my discipline (with the food) and workout when I can...How about YOu?? Hows was your week?
  8. Thank you aloudwhisper for the encouraging message....I tell you this site is great and I must admit ADDICTING! I love the fact that everybody seems to be sooo supportive and positive and unified. If only the whole world could be the same IT WOULD BE A BETTER PLACE! :tongue2:
  9. Hello All, I am new to the group and just wanted to say hello.....I was banded on Nov 13th and well I only lost 5lbs since surgery officially (10lbs the first 4 days, but figured that was just water weight). My first fill scheduled Dec 18th (granted I get rid of the minor infection I have at my incision). I'm trying to change the way I eat some days are good and well some days.....:cursing: I'm thinking maybe I should have went for the by-pass......I opt for the band because I felt you had more control and I liked the fact that it is reversible. The truth is I'm afraid I am going to have to practice discipline and lets face it if I had some DISCIPLINE I would've needed the surgery in the first place....IS THIS THE WRONG ATTITUDE TO HAVE?? I GOT A BEYONCE' INSIDE OF ME DYING TO COME OUT AND SHE'S PISSED OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :scared2:
  10. You know what I LIKE YOU MELOLO! DATS WAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!!!!!!:cursing:
  11. Hello, I'm from New York, Westchester County.....20mins from NYC. My doctor is Dr. Dominick Artuso (great great doctor) @ Community Hospital in Dobbsferry, NY they will work with you....he has an excellent team.:smile2:
  12. Hey to each is own, what people do in there bedrooms in which ever order is on them....I'm just excited to lose the weight and be more confident in myself to want to please my H2B! He's always loved me for me and for that I am lucky.....GINNYTWO....I KNOW ALL TO WELL WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT...when your over weight sex (to me of course) just isnt as fun as it would be without it (THE LOVE HANDLES, THE EXTRA LAYERS OF BELLY FAT, THE BREAST GOING IN THERE OWN DIRECTION, OUT OF BREATH WHEN CHANGING POSITIONS, CANT WAIT FOR THE FINALE SO YOU CAN GO TO SLEEP, EAT SOMETHING OR SMOKE CIGARETTE!) ....SO ITS GOT TO GO.... J.JOSEPH probably been married for 30 plus years (I bet) and I'm sure its gots something to do with the way THEY please one another!!! I SAY "YOU GO BOY".... PLAIN....I would have to admit it cracked me up too BUT SERIOUSLY WITH THE EXTRA ENERGY I AM GETTING WITH THE NEW DIET, I JUST WANTED AND NEEDED INPUT FOR A NEW LIFESTYLE AND WE ARE ADULTS AND SEX I AM SURE IS APART OF EVERYONES LIFE.....A GREAT PART:drool: AND BEING OVER WEIGHT FOR ME DIDNT ALLOW ME TO ENJOY IT AND BE FREE AND FEEL SEXY WITH MY PARTNER AND THATS A PROBLEM IN MY BOOK....SO YES ALEX SHOULD GET A GRAMMY, NOBLE PEACE PRIZE OR SOMETHING FOR STARTING THIS WEBSITE BECAUSE ITS TOTALLY ADDICTING FOR ME.....:wink2: I'M ON HERE JUST ABOUT ALL DAY EVERYDAY AND WHAT KEEPS ME HOOKED ARE THE PEOPLE I CAN RELATE TO AND PEOPLE WHO ARE REAL AND NOT AFRAID TO SHARE THANK YOU EVERYONE....:smile2: GETTING BACK TO WORK!
  13. Thanks J.Joseph......but I dont think I can take the citrate with my band.....its carbonated like soda....I dont think it would be a good look...
  14. Why thank you Jodi....I dont have that I'm just not ovulating due to the weight........but with this band thats going to be a thing of the past....
  15. Psssst....umm by the way, what does PCOS mean?? Sorry I'm having a dumb blonde momet???
  16. I've been reading everyones reply and I was just thinking perhaps its just gas....this diet and the surgery can produce some serious gas in the body! I've had some gas that will make you feel like your gonna have a heart attack! Did your doctor send you home with a prescription for gas? Some times gas can travel into the shoulder as well....just a thought!
  17. 2ND2NONE KEEP THE FAITH GURL! We gonna have us some ashy babies ....they told me the same thing! I had leukemia in 92' (by the grace of GOD I am cured) but have had issues with my weight and cycle ever since.....I came home from the hospital in 93' @ 126lbs and went to sleep and woke up @ 247lbs :tt1:.....I dont know either! Dats what it seemed like....anyway, I am determined to have me a tatertot in the next 2yrs and this band is going to assist in my weight loss and everything is going to be alright....JUST BELIEVE YOU HAVE TO BELIEVE IT AND PRAY GOD HAS IT IN HIS WILL! GOD BLESS!
  18. Hey Listen, I truly appreciate everyones input and find it very informative..... I will remember to take it easy and slow, yes missionary is a bit challenging slim-n-tn, and pssst J.Joseph not that "I" need it but could you tell me what your wife used to clean her colon?? Inquiring minds want to know?? Those of us in a committed relationship while being obese may share the same feelings of the importance of performance especially while losing weight. Personally I find since eating properly and losing a little bit of weight and excising just a little bit (like power walking) has made a significant difference in the bedroom...for one my stamina has gone through the roof....where as before I was too busy trying not to get a damn charlie horse in my stomach.....(YES, AND ITS PAINFUL AS HELL!) so for those of you who may feel this post to inappropiate SORRY, others who dont mind discussing and sharing on a respectable, grown adult discussion.......GOD BLESS YOU! AND THANKS IN ADVANCE!
  19. Hey! o.k. so part of the reason why I wanted to get banded is because I was not (am not) producing any eggs and at 34yrs young I didnt want to miss my chances of ever conceiving.....my H2B and I would like to have a tatertot one day and well I was just wondering if there were women out there who because of their obesity experienced the no ovulating and now do because of the surgery and how long did it take for your body to function "normally." ......
  20. O.k. I was trying to take it easy....plus, I am trying to keep my man....but what in the world is that feeling in my stomach? Am I not suppose to have sex for a while?? My doctor didnt say anything about NOT having sex.....did yours? :cool2: :tt2:
  21. I havnt been following this rule....exactly and was wondering if this is why I am not feeling restricted...I havent had my first fill yet I was just banded on Nov 13th and well I havent done all that great as far as sticking to the post-op diets. At this point though I am able to eat pretty much anything and have. Outside of the TERRIBLE GAS I have experienced much else...no restrictions for me....oh except on Thanksgiving the Lasagna almost killed me...wont be doing that anymore... so should I be drinking 45mins b4 eating or vice versa or does it even matter??
  22. Wow kintime, all i can say is obviously your a christian (because you stated you rely on prayer) and you know what the bible says about divorce and untder what terms....not being judgmental or trying to make you feel guilty or anything but if i may express my opinion.... This man loved you when you didnt love yourself and thats great.... I too have experienced failed relationships and even a failed marriage because of my insecurities.. And since i have found someone who i believe truly loves me for me and has been very instrumental in the rebuilding of my self-esteem and he constantly encourages and supports my self love and happiness and worth... I am very aware and conscious (?) of how hard it had to be for him in the begining to be with some one with low self esteem issues...so i say all of this to say try really looking at the man your with and communicating to him what your not getting and your needs.... The affection and intimacy can be spiced up...experiment (unless your just not attracted to him anymore). Money is not everything after all god does give us everything we need.... All i can stress is honesty, honesty, honesty! How are you ever going to be happy or get what you want if you dont communicate....god bless!
  23. Yes, my period was due on the day of my surgery and still nothing.... surgery date was Nov 13th.. I figured it will resume back to normal in Dec....
