  1. Hi Everyone! I'm new to this tread. I Purchased a Bodybugg yesterday and hit the ground running this morning. I'm very excited to add this tool to my weight loss arsenol of things that will hopefully allow me to be a success. The frustrating part is waiting for the phone call for the set up. I programmed miy BB and synced it to the display monitor, but I cant figure out how to start logging in my food yet. I'm assuming that when I get the call for the consultation they will cover all of that. Do I have to be PatientPolly or can someone help me out?
  2. Awesome job Heather!
  3. Hey thanks for the help. I am so frustrated. I got banded on Nov. 19 with no resrtiction and had a fill on Dec 22, of 2cc's which literally gave me no restriction at all. After about a week I called my doctor and she said that it would take 4-6 fills to get it right and she was against adding more at that time. So I literally have been working off will, hitting the gym and keeping an eye on the scale and it's not moving like I want it to. I'm on a 19 day count down until my next appointment and I really hope she ups the amount becaue 2cc's really didn't cut it. I can eat WHATEVER I want and ALOT of it...but I dont. I stop eating because I know I should, not because I feel full or restricted. I had better appetite control on diet drugs, which I dont ever want to take again. 19 days seems like forever!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Hey Marisol We're neighbors...somewhat. I'm in Torrance, Ca. I had my surgery done by Dr. Takahashi in torrance on Novenber 19, I had a fill on December 22 of 2 cc's which gave me NO restriction at all. I'm on a 19 day count down til my next fill and boy is it hard, because I can eat WHATEVER I want and prettymuch big amounts. But I stop myself from eating so much, not because I feel full or the food is getting stuck, just because I know that I should. I asked my doctor for more and she said that she didnt think it was good idea, for fear of over fill. She said that it might take 4-5 months to get it right which is VERY frustrating.
  5. I can't, for the life of me even figure out how to update my ticker.....can anyone help me? Apparently I'm technologically challenged!
  6. I dont know my band capacity, but I only got 2cc's at my first fill last Monday on the 22nd, and I havent felt full once. I am definitley goning to inquire about its capacity. I am still VERY WORRIED about not having a fill for another 28 days....EXTREMELY worried. Its's to easy to make bad decisions. Im going to try and stay focused, but am anxious to see how much my next fill is, becasue 2cc's isnt cutting it at all !
  7. Wendy I swear you are the TN version of me! You are hilarious and I so enjoyed reading all of your blogs. My favorite of couse was the parody of "I WIll Survive" I was banded on November 19th and am very excited about whats to come! Good luck to us all!
  8. Hey Heather, I feel like I could eat endlessly! I really dont feel like i have an restriction at all. i called my doctor and she really didnt seem to concerned and was anti putting more fluid in for fear of putting in to much. so basically I feel like I am on my own and am working off of will power, which if i had I wouldnt need the band. I am trying to pay more attention to my body and recognize the difference between full and stuffed. But I am scared to death right now that I am not going to do well over the next 4 weeks. I dont have an appointment for a fill til Jan 27. So for now I am just trying to make good choices!
  9. Hi everyone~ Well I was banded on 11/19 and had my first fill (only 2cc's) on Monday, and I'm a little worried. I feel no restriction at all, I feel like I could keep eating and only stop because I know that I should. And that scares me because I know that I can keep going. Even after waiting for 15-20 minutes after I feel like I could eat more. Do you think 2cc's was to little? Should I go back and ask for more? I just dont want to have to little restriction and end up not losing any weight. I dont have another fill scheduled til 1/27. I'm going to the gym 5 days a week and keeping my diet low carb, high protein, but this is not how I though it would be. I was looking for a defintie feeling of fullness. I mean I dont want to be in pain or unable to swallow liquid, like some horror stories I've read but, I feel like I need more. What should I do? Looking for advice.
  10. I swear we must be the same person! I too had the same experience yester at the doctors office. As I wa sitting getting my blood pressure taken I called over the nurse to tell her that at that very moment "I was crossing my legs" and NOT holding them together with my hands on my knees!!!! Its amazing how things like that that have been gone for so long when we get them back it shows us how much progress we are making! I had my fill yesterday which was painless but it took her a few....quite a few pokes to find the right spot. I could hear the needle going in and out of the perimeter of the port and it sounded so strange, a pooping noise. I drank a protein shake last ight and am having cream of wheat as we speak for breakfast. So far so good!
  11. Hi Jamie~ can you please give me the website for the protein powder where i can purchase a sample pack of there flavors. I need some new ways to add mor protein to my diet. Thanks
  12. Hello to all. Im just checkin gin with all the bandsters ftom nov 17-21, to see how everyone is doing? i was banded on the 19th and am doing well. my stomach growled for the first time 2 days ago which was quite interesting and felt my first huunger pains since surgery. i hope everyone is doing well. I'm down 8 pounds since surgery but cant figure out for the life how to update that information in my "ticker tracker" in my signature. Can anyone help?
  13. Ok, so I was banded on the 19th and I am still in shock that I havent chewed anything ssine the 17th. I have zero hunger, and am just relly staying busy which keeps my mind off chewing. Hunger or no hunger I am so over this liguid diet and cant wait for it to be over. The interesting thing is going to be tomorrow, at Disneyland. But hey I figure if i can get through Thanksgiving, Disneyland should be a piece of cake....Yumm did somebody say cake!?
  14. Hello to all!!! I wanted to join this tread. I was banded on November 19th, and am doing really well. I'm on a full liquid diet, no pain meds and walking everyday. Im keeping really busy with my 2 Lovebugs (ages 3 and 16 months) which is good for keeping my mind off of food. I have no actual hunger to speak of, but must admit that I wok up in a panic this morning because I had a very vivid dream that I had eaten HAM!!!! I swear! HAM of all things. I am so excited, havent been on a scale since day of surgery, but Im sure things are in the down direction. MAybe i'll tip the scale fantastic in the morning. Good luck to everyone and I know if I can make it through these 10 more days of liquids I can make it through anything! Waht is everyone on liquids plan on doing for Thanksgiving? I'm cooking, but not eating and taking my liquids with me to every pit stop I make that day!!!
  15. Ill keep an eye on it for sure, and will defintely be calling my doc on Monday morning.
  16. Im taking my mulit vitamin and zantax, both of which i was taking before surgery. No swelling, Im not sure if its a rash on my legs or is it little red spots from me scratching them so much. no rash like areas anywhere else. Im on full liguids, so Ive been drinking fat free based milk products, the same ones I was drinking pre surgery. the only new thing to my diet is protein powder and Isopure drinks, amd my lips are really dry!
  17. Hey everyone, I got banded on the 19th and have nothing imparticular to report...EXCEPT...I'm itchy. Around the edges of my lips, on my chest, my arms, my legs. Im not taking any pain medication. Could this be an after shock to anesthesia (did i spell that right? probably not). Anyone else having this experience, or am I all alone in my itchyness?????
  18. I was baned on Wednesday the 19th and am doing really well. I havnet been on any pain medication at all. I had some gas pains in my shoulder and back, but got relief from alot of walking and GASX. My doc had me NPO the first 24 hours after surgery, then clear liquids on day 1 after surgery and full liquids started today. I'm not experiencing any hunger yet, I'm still at the point were I am eating (drinking) because I know I need to.
  19. Can someone please elaborate on this. My doc never mentioned taking this pre op. I'm being banded tomorrow morning and want to be prepared.
  20. Can someone PLEASE share the GAS-X strips tip with me....I'm being banded tomorrow morning and am looking for ALL the info that you can share.
  21. Hello to all, Im getting banded in 2 days and looking for nay and all advise ofr success. I know its going to be a long hard road [not nearly as easy as it was putting it on ]. I havent been this nervous since i dont know when. I'm so glad I found this sight!
  22. :w00t::blink:Ok, I've been walking around all day with the nervous stomach of a 16 year old girl on her first date with a guy she really likes and is hoping and dreading that he might try to kiss her! Make any sense to ANYBODY?!?!?!?! Surgery is on Wednesday and I'm feeling giddy, anxious and ready to get this show on the road!!!!:redface::tongue::tt2::tongue2::thumbup::thumbup::cursing: Feeling all of the above at the same time!
  23. Right now I am on a regualr diet. Umnlike alot of post,My doctor did not put me on aliquid diet 2 prior to surgery. So I am eating regular foods, but staying clear of carbs as much as possible, low fat. You know better food choices. Losts of fruit and veggies and tons of water. As far as my stock for the 1st 2 weeks its obviously liquids broths, soups, sugar free jello, protein shakes, skim milk, egg beaters and protein powder for added protein,, fruit juices, fat free yogurt smooties. I hit up Trader Joes, Whole Foods, and Lindberg nutrition and Ithink I'm pretty ready!
