  1. how i've i missed this thread? starting weight 280 day of surgery weight 242 current weight 203
  2. Memorial Day June 1st report....My goal was to be 200 by June first and then I changed it, to be under 200 (199) by June 1st. I am 6lbs away from goal and even though the deadline for me to get there is a mear 12 days away and I probably wont hit 199 within the next 12 days I am still hoping to be pretty dam close and I am really happy with my progress so far. I'm going to Vegas in about 3 weeks and I am pleased to say that for the first time I truthfully dont have a thing to wear (that fits).
  3. Update....had my 5th post op visit this week and couldn't be happier with my weight loss this far. BUT...why is there ALWAYS a but? So for the past 2 weeks I have been having heartburn/reflux. Sometimes with discomfort, sometimes without. Sometimes it's just noise (embarassing noises that permeate from my chest). So of course I had tell my doctor...and of course she immediately went to "you must be to tight" So the battle insued. I knew she was going to want to do an unfill so I came ready. I knew an unfill would mean a set back and maybe even a weight gain, because without the band I have a veracious appetite. So we compromissed and she only took out .15 with the stipulation that we...that I monitor this heartburn/reflux. I must say that even that tiny unfill put me in a full on panic. But I am happy to report that the heartburn/reflux is significantly less AND my portions are still managable. But I get hungrier quicker....We'll see what happens and I'll keep you posted!
  4. i am wearing 18's now, but they technically are to big. its just sometimes i can't wrap my head around this weight loss. its GREAT and I LOVE it, but it almost like i am waiting for the bottom to fall and something happen (like i'll wake and all the weight will have come back) My size 18 is in reference to pants, and if you know LANE BRYANT, they put alot of stretch in there clothes and bridal gowns are sized differently. ive just been so big for so long that its hard to believe that the weight is finally coming off.
  5. Well, I went with the 14, fingers crossed, but I think I can do it. I actually like your train of thought with the whole size 12 thing:biggrin:. I'm just going to keep doing what I'm doing, trying to make consistent good food choices and keep working out!!! Thanks!
  6. heres the link for the dress if you'd like to take a look. After Six Bridesmaid Style 6553: The Dessy Group Its an A-line which works in my benefit and these are the size to measurement reccommendations from the designer. 14: Bust 40 Waist 32 Hip 42 16: Bust 41.5 Waist 33.5 Hip 43.5 18: Bust 43.5 Waist 35.5 Hip 45.5 I'm measuring Bust 42 Wasit 36 Hip 50 when I started this Whole journey I was 280 and I size 24, I'm at 207 now and in a size 16....So I don't know. I'm leaning towards the 14, but that is a huge, costly and potentialy disaterous chance to take! The 16 might be the safer bet.
  7. I HAVE A DELIMMA!!!!! Ok Novembers, heres the deal. I'm in a wedding in October (6months away) but the dresses have to ordered like within the next week. The dresses will take anywhere from 3-4 months to arrive which is why they have to ordered so early. What in the worl am I supossed to do? The dresses can be altered only 2 sizes down. So what do I do? I took my measurements and according to the bridal consultant I'm slightly smaller than the size 18 dress....but with only room to to alter 2 sizes....I am so frustrated. I know I'm not going to order the 18, but how small to go with out completely sabotaging myself? Any suggestions! Advice?!?!?!?
  8. Thats Awesome EbonyRose! Keep up the good work! I have been away from the gym for about a week. I had a really bad episode of the stomach flu that had me down and out for about 4 or 5 days but my plan is to be back at the gym tomorrow morning bright in early at 5:30 and get this show back on the road!
  9. hey cheryl, how are you? I am really happy with the band so far. i am down a total of a 73lbs according to my home scale which notoriously weighs me 2 lbs less than the scale at dr. takahashis office. 38 of thoes lbs were off as of the day of surgery, but the way i look at it is that every lb counts. it took a while to find my so called sweet spot (about 4 fills) but once she found it things really started to progress. i am about 1/2 way to my goal and still have a ways to go, but so far so good! ive got another appt. ina bout 2 weeks and im not sure if she his going to give me any additional fill. i am always nervous not to get one, and i have been having some intermittent heart burn which really doent seem to be food related, but i'll address that with her at the appointment. i am plannig on going to the next support group meeting in may, so if you go maybe ill see you there. take care

  10. Hey everyone, I got banded on the 19th and have nothing imparticular to report...EXCEPT...I'm itchy. Around the edges of my lips, on my chest, my arms, my legs. Im not taking any pain medication. Could this be an after shock to anesthesia (did i spell that right? probably not). Anyone else having this experience, or am I all alone in my itchyness?????
  11. and is all i can say to that! let's hope you never have to use it!
  12. Emergency Needle? Please tell me more, the curiostiy is kiiing me.
  13. hey you, so glad to see you on here. and you are under 200 and in onderland! that is awesome. hope this fill is the one for you. good luck and keep me posted!
  14. i've got a 10cc band w/ approximately 6.5 cc's in it now.
  15. It varies. She has put in as much as 1.5 (which was LOVELY), but she has never given me more than that and that amount it took 3 fills to work up to. I have read post where people where getting up to 3cc's at a time though.

    biggest loser - '09

I think the overall production cost for survior might be lower. i mean I know they fly them to remote islands which I'm sure is costly, but once they drop them off. The overhead is virtually zero, no room and board and no food. Where as TBL they rent that ranch, they have to pay filiming cost in CA which as astronomical and all the staff they are mandated to have on hand, physical therapist, emt's, and whoever else is there beihind the scenes. So maybe the prize is lower beacause the cost to produce is so much higher. I don't know, just a thought. And BTW Tara is a machine...I look at her and how she pushes herself and I wonder "where does she get that kind of drive and motivation from?" she truely is very motivating,, just watching her beat men in challenge after challenge warms the cockels of my heart!
  17. wow i just had to stop by and comment on your weight loss. i think we are on the same thread for the biggest loser 09. you have done such an amazing job. it almost makes me wonder what i'm doing wrong. we were banded only 2 days apart, had the same surgery date weight and yet you are so far ahead of me. i know this is not a competition but i cant help but compare myself to you. i think your like 20lbs down more than i am and i really have to congratulate you on a job well done! keep up the good work! if you have time and dont mind can you share some of eating habits with me (diet tips). i think thats were my biggest obstacle lies. i work out 5 days a week for an hour and my diet is on the betterside of good, but it could be so much better.

  18. good morning everyone. just wanted to check in. i had my 4th post op/fill appt yesterday. i've lost 13lbs since my last appointment 5 weeks ago and i am very excited about it. my doctor was reluctant to give me any additional restrction and i wasnt 100% sure that i needed any either, but after a long discusion we agreed that a very small addition would be appropriate (.5) and we'd see what happens.
  19. i got my bugg at 24 hr fitness. they had a promtion for the bugg and the display arm band for $250.00, this also included the monitoring for 6 months. on the body bugg web site they were going for $350.00 for both items. my arm band is rechargable. when i plug it into my computer to upload the gathered data (which only take a few minutes) i leave plugged in for an hour or so to rechagre it. i only charge it about once/ week and manily because it only holds a little more than a weeks worth of data so i upload the data and clear the memory every sunday or monday night. the display band which can be worn as a watch or as a clip on the arm band or attatched to a piece of clothing takes a watch battery and i havent had to replace mine yet and its been about 12 weeks since ive got it. im not sure which version takes a aaa battery. is it the grey one? i know there is an older modle that was grey and a bit blukier than the black one that they have out now. ebay sounds like a good way to go to get a good deal im just extremely impatient and once i had made the decision to purchase one i just could wait.
  20. The Body Bugg tells you how mnay calories you have currently burned up to the minute for the day, and it resets its self every day at mid midnight to calculate for the next day. And yes it does also act as a pedometer calculating your steps for the day and this also rests every day. At any given time you can see your calories burned for the day and the amount of steps you have taken for the day. You can also see the information for the previous day as well.
  21. i wear my bb proudly! i llive in california so we dont really get a winter so to speak so its tank tops in february. so it is something that catches alot of peoples eyes and i get alot of questions about it but let me tell you I, like ebony, NEVER leave home with out it pumps or sneakers a dress or sweats, its me and my bugg
  22. We should start a support group for "Scale Whores" I could be the founder and CEO. Get the Body Bugg(BB)...it is expensive but SSSSOOOOOO worth every penny. I never leave home with out it, only take it off to shower. I absolutely love it. Since adding it to my program I'm down 16 lbs. Now would Ihave lost that weight without the BB? Who knows, but I look at it as ANOTHER tools to aid me on my journey.
  23. wow! you never go to the gym? that is amazing. and you have had pretty good weight loss. i also work and have 2 kids a 4 year old son and my duahgter is 19 months and they keep me moving, but for me i know that the scale is a at snails pace if i dont workout. im at the gym 5 dyas a week at 5:30 am. whatever you are doing seems to be working out for you. the pb'ing, that sucks but hopefully you and your doc can get you at that ever so elusive sweet spot that we all long for, not to tight but tight enough. good luck to you!
  24. well i made it through the weekend but just barley. im going to call my doc just for percaution sake (i was really leary to for fear they would unfill me completely and the thought of that was freaking me out!) but i am defintely feeling better and able to get food down again.
  25. hey everyone i'm looking for some advice. has anyone had a cold or flu yet since getting the band? i've been fighting a cold for a few days but i think i may have lost this round. my throat is killing me and i literally cant eat anything. it feels like everything is getting stuck even liquid is a challenge. does anyone know if this is normal when you get sick? i havent had a recent fill so im assuming that being sick has affected the band somehow. just checking to see if anyone else has experienced this?:tongue_smilie:
