  1. ....and WTH?!?!? i totally forgot about the weight gain after surgery (fluid i guess, plus air) i almost had a fricken heart attack when i got on the scale this morning!!!!!
  2. I'm BACK!!!! Hello all, surgery was on Wednesday morning at 7:30am and I was back home on Thursday by 11am. Everything seems to be going well. Still on liquids at this point, no appetite. My surgeon left me with 3cc's. So that amount coupled the swelling that comes from surgery is leaving me with little to no physical hunger. The most frustrating thing is the complete inability to do anything... ARGGH!!!!!! I'm already going stir crazy but I no that rest is essential to healing, so here I sit. As soon as I get clearance C25K here I come! Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers, they were heard and much appreciated!
  3. Hey girl! thank you so much for thinking of me. Yeah the day is approaching. 5 day count down I am not even really excited its just more of a "matter of fact" kind of thing ya know. i am 1/2 way dreading the liquid diet more than anything and 1/2 way excited about the potential weight loss that comes with the liquid diet. I just want it to be over and done with so that i can get these final 30-40 lbs off (i am comtemplating changing my goal weight but that is another story all together). i'll keep you posted and log on after surgery to let everyone know that all is well!
  4. Ebony~ that sounds right up my alley. I have been trying to do that on my own. I was just at the gym with my sister this morning telling her how last year i was walking for 45 min to an hour at 0 incline 3.0 huffing and puffing all the way. Now i am walking at 4.0 incline 6.0 for 20 minutes followed by 20 minutes of running at 5.0 no incline. but honestly id give up that incline for a straight 30 minutes on the treadmil and be done with it. 45 minutes just seems so daunting. i want to get in good cardio with out having to do an hour of it. running is the was to go. i'm looking it up next. thanks!
  5. Ebony congratualtions girl!!!! What an amazing feeling! I just have one question...What is the C25K program?
  6. SQUEAKY WHEEL GETS THE OIL!!!!!!! CORRECTIVE SURGERY SCHEDULED FOR 9/30/09...THATS A MERE 9 DAYS AWAY!!!!! 7. Hey everyone...nothing major to report. Just stopping by to say hello. Holding steady at 185, trying to make decent food choice, watch my portions (with an unfill) and hitting the gym (BTW i needs to hire a hit man for my trainer:blink: because that boy is trying to kill me). Still waiting for final confirmation from the ins company. my surgeon is still holding 9/30/09 as a surery date for me. but the last time i talked to the ins company (yesterday) they told me that my file was in the medical review department to determine if this surgery was a "medical necessity". Squeaking away!
  8. JUST STOPPED BY YOUR PAGE, TOOK A LOOK AT YOUR PIX. SO INCREDIBLE!!! MY HATS OFF TO YOU! i'M TRUCKING ALONG, ABOUT 40 LOBS FROM GOAL. I HIT A SPEED BUMP AND MY BAND HAS SLIPPED SO IM GOING FOR REVISION SURGERY IN 2 WEEKS. NOT LETTING IT DERAIL ME THOUGH, I HAVE AN UNFILL BUT AM STILL HITTING THE GYM HARD. NOT WILLING TO REGAIN ANY OF THE WEIGHT THAT I HAVE LOST. IM HOPING TO BE AT GOAL BY END OF JANUARY ONCE EVERTHING IS SAID AND DONE. OH AND BTW I WAS LOOKING AT YOUR BEFORE PIX AS WELL. AND GILR I CAN TELL THAT EVEN AT 296 YOU WERE WORKIN IT. WEIGHT DOENT DEFINE US...ALTHOUGH WE ARE ALOT BETTER OFF WITHOUT THE EXCESS. CONGRATULATIONS ON REACHING GOAL, AND YOUR TUMMY SURGERY! WHAT AN AMAZING JOURNEY YOU HAVE HAD!!!!

  9. SQUEAK SQUEAK SQUEAK. Tentative surgery date is September 30th. I talked to my doctors office yesterday and they have me on the schedule for that dat. i alos spoke to the ins company and they have my filr in hand and said that it should be approved byt he end of next week at the latest. so hopefully all is falling into place!
  10. No word yet. I called the INS co yesterday they hadnt even received the request from my doctors office yet. So of course i called my doctors office and they said that my case is in their que to be submitted. They said that it should be in the hands of the ins co by thursday and from there it will just be dependant on how long it takes them to approve it. I will be calling them daily, because as you know the squeeky will gets the oil. So I plan on squeeking until they get tired of hearing from me. I'll keep you guys posted. I'm just in a hurry. I'm in a wedding Ocotber 10th and my husband is taking me to Cabo for my 40th b-day in November so I am really trying to squeeze it in between all the upcoming events, plus the holidays are coming....i just want o hurry up and get it over with. PLUS i really am not looking forward to taking a hiatus from the gym.

  12. I'll be happy if I can just ,maintain my weight until my repair:rolleyes2:. But I am hoping that the repair will be the spring board to getting these last 40ish pounds off for good! And I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers that you are now and will remain cancer free!
  13. I am 9 months out andmy band has slipped, which mean another surgery to repair it. Anyone one out there go through tis already? my doctor said that this is her first one that didnt fix itself with an unfill that she has had and she has only had one other.

    Anyone have band SLIPPAGE?

Hey FNM (i just cant bring myself to call you fatty:biggrin:)- I started having heartburn about 2 weeks after a fill that i had in march and it got progressively worse and more frequesnt. it finally fgot to the point were it was allthe time even after drinking water and you could hear it. not just me, but people around me could hear it. then it got to the where it would wake me up from a dead sleep in the middle of the night. it was pretty bad and medication didnt do anything for it

    Anyone have band SLIPPAGE?

The first indication of band slippage for my doctor was that I was having alot of heart burn but i wasnt at optimal retriction. When the heartrurn set in she immediately thought that I was too tight. But ik ept telling her that that wasnt the case that I didnt feel like i had reached my green zone yet. so after 2 months of slowly getting unfilled she opted for an esophogiagram and it showed the slippage. We then did an unfill down to 3cc's which she thought would correct it but no such luck.

    Anyone have band SLIPPAGE?

Hey trapped thanks for the post. Yeah my doc tried anaprtial unfil but was completely unsatisified with the results. I'm gald to hear the the surgery was successful and mninimal pain. My first one was pretty uneventful as well so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I am toally bumped about 2 weeks on liquids again, but hey Ifigure it willa llow me to make up the time and the weight i havent been losing from the unfill.
  18. Yeah this really sucks, and I'm bumped but not defeated. I try to always look on the bright side and be optimistic. She said that just about anything could have caused the slip. a PB episode, lifting something to heavy to soon...who knows. she didnt think that a total unfil would fix it though, which is wht I thought she might try. To repair it it is literally a nother sugery, going in through the same incisions sites and basically moving it into correct position and putting in a few stitches to keep it in its correct position. At this point I'm just ready to get to repair surgery and get back to buisness!
  19. From Bridesmaids dress NSV to Band Slippage and repair surgery all in the blink of an eye. Well folks the results are in and my band has slipped which I knew when I was having heartburn, but my surgeon thought that an unfill would allow it to repair iteself. Well no such luck, just left her office and the band is still out of place and the only way to fix it is with SURGERY. So here we go again. She gave me the option to take it out, if I was happy with my weight loss so far. I was like are you fricken kidding me?!?!? I'm happy with the weight I've lost but I am far from done. ABSOLUTLEY NO REMOVAL! REPAIR REPAIR REPAIR! So now comes the waiting game of ins approval and availability on her schedule. If I had it my way I'd be in surgury tommmorw. I'm like lets get this show on the road and get this thing fixed and get the scale moving. Wish me luck. In the mean time I will try to keep on making beter food choice and hitting the gym like a mad woman!
  20. NSV Bridesmaids Dress Update So first off I am still unfilled down to 3cc's following an extended espisode with heartburn. So my restirction is basically non exsistent, but I am trying to the best I can with food choices and exercise. But the good thin is that I back to my surgeon tomorrow so hopefully there is a fill in my immediate future so I can get some help getting the scale moving. So do you guys remember me asking your advice about ordering bridesmaids dress for a wedding I going to be in in October? Well at the time I was in an 18, and took a gamble on myself and ordered the dress in a 14... Well I picked up the dress yesterday... Can I get a drum roll please?!?!?!?!? The dam thing didn't fit! It's to fricken BIG!!!!!! Like I had to hold it up (its strapless) so that it would stay up to BIG! I am so floored I mean i probably could have gotten away with ordering a 10. HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY!!!!
  21. YOU GO GLAMMAW!!!!! 49 pounds is AMAZING!!!! You should be patting yourself on the back and dont let a non supportive surgeon take any of your glory away!!!
  22. OK let us all have a reality check!!! We all got the Lap Band which is well know for SLOW weight loss. If memory serves me correctly they say the average bandster loses 1 to 2 pounds a week. We are only 9 months out from surgery, a mer 36 weeks. So by my calculations we are all doing pretty DAM good! i know that some have lost much more than others, but we are all losing. We should be so proud of our selves. We are banded but we put forth the effort, the BANd is not the MAGIC cure. My niece just had the Bypass 4 weeks ago and she has already lost 35 pounds, BUT thats not what I signed up for. Slow and steady. We shouldnt beat our selves up over how much we HAVENT lost , but be proud of what we have....My good thoughts and encouragment to ALL!!!!
  23. hey mamacita, first things first...is that sigmund the seamonster as your profile pic? I sooo love that. well about you being to tight, i am gpoing through that right now. i had a fill which i thought gave me great restiction but it also gave me horrible heartburn. an esophogiagram confirmed it and i had 3 out of my 6 cc's removed to my absolute horror. i know for sure that i am now to loose and my doc and i need to get on track for getting mr to a better restricted level. i havent lost much c=since my unfill. but i am actually glad that i havent gained.
