Sometimes I Just Have to Say.....
I'm not in the green, but I was and rather than accept not really being able to eat I didn't. I couldn't tolerate a lot of food. I couldn't drink a gulp of water. I really should have just stayed on the liquids. I know when my insurance kick in from my upcoming new job, when I finally hired somewhere it is what it is and I will get filled. Because of my hospital scare I need to have insurance. I honestly think my problem was, that I was feeling a nice tight band, but it kind if felt like I wad becoming too tight. I really need to baby step the band. I can't afford to do that out of pocket, so I have to come up with a game plan.

Need a fill, but I don't have insurance and I'm not loosing
One of the big rules that I never followed was eating with my meal. I gotta have some water and I drank it all the time. I thought something was wrong with every one that didn't drink enough in a day. I wasn't loosing, but that was still my rationale. So I started doing that one thing and began to see my band become tighter. I don't know the others, well that relates to being 4yrs out. I'm too embarrassed to ask the doctor so please share.

Sometimes I Just Have to Say.....
Well I'm a faller off the wagon person. I was doing so good at year 2. The weight was finally starting to come off, then I got so tight that I couldn't ear or drink. I was in the hospital. The oncall surgeon, not a gastric surgeon, btw, took out all of my fluid. My doctor's began to wonder was something wrong with the band. I started getting more fluid again, but was always throwing up. I wasn't in any kind of support at the time and I thought my experience was abnormal. Year 3 was all about getting the fluid out. Well until I got to month 10 of that year. I decided then I would try to work this band. Now I have no job and no insurance. I am one of those people that is so close to the green zone, yet so far away. I do work out. I just started working with a trainer, but when the stress comes I want to eat. I don't know what to do. I keep a lot of the junk out of the house so I'm not tempted, but I'm not loosing. But honestly, I only worked out 3 days this week. I need some motivation.

Need a fill, but I don't have insurance and I'm not loosing
I am stuck. I have a 10cc band and only about 6.3ccs of Fluid. I don't have restriction. Well maybe some if I really over do it. I'm not suppose to have bread, but I can eat some. I haven't done well with following the rules. I have track calories, but lately I've been so off my game plan. I've been sad, and when I'm said I don't tend to make the best food choices. I really want to be successful n in my journey, but it seems like its not really the band's problem its me :-( I'm 4 years out and I can't seem to get it right. I feel like every time I get into the right eating groove I fall off the wagon. I do all that I can to get back on, but it doesn't work. I can't keep my light on. I chose the band for the same reasons as most, but I realize that I probably really wanted an easy fix, cause I don't want to follow the rules. What should I do to start over?

Thanks so much Hillary. I will look into this. I really need a better way if eating. I start off good, but often fall off the wagon. I honestly don't like the idea of never having pralines and cream ice cream every couple of months, but right now my focus is all about getting off this weight.- hardest bandster rule to follow for me..
I thought the same thing. It could also be the reason I don't feel so tight, or able to eat so much more.- hardest bandster rule to follow for me..
I will consider 15 minutes. I will have to really look at the clock and all :-) I know that I have never been on to follow rules. That's the problem. I have to do better. I prayed for this band. I wanted help. I didn't want to have anything cut off or rerouted. So this has to work for me. I lost 50, gained back 20ish. Something's got to give. So I'm reducing the carbs. I got this water app that reminds me to drink. I need water, because I have digestive issues. But I want success. So I will follow the rules. Well try to :-/- Lapband Or Sleeve
Congrats on the switch! The band works for a lot of people. I've started going on YouTube and looking at other band blogs. I wished I'd looked into this sites long ago, because I now I would have had a more successful journey with the band. Its really been rough on me, but I'm giving this thing until the end of the year. Honestly, I know it will work this time. I'm different. I'm really trying to eating better. Before you decide between the band and the sleeve look at the cons of having it. I honestly, don't know them. I believe the weight can come off faster with the sleeve. But it can also come back with any of the weight loss tools. The light has got to click on in your mind and heart for you to maintain any kind of weight loss you are blessed to obtain.- Paleo Diet for Bandsters
Hey guys! I'm need to this diet plan idea but really open to learning more healthier ways to eat. I've been banded 4 years. I was doing great for the first 2 years, even though it was a very slow weight loss. I started having complications right before year 3, so at that point I was done with the band. Not being able to swallow your own saliva without throwing up was too much for me to handle. They took out a lot of Fluid. My weight slowly started creeping back up. Before my 4 year anniversary, I decided that I wanted to see if I could rediscover the love. I'm only 6.3cc in my 10cc band. I've never been tighter than than 6.8. Last year, I did South Beach, and lost good. But that was before the holidays. Then, my mom was diagnosed with cancer and died. So last year was awful for me. I still have a lot going on, but I've been trying so hard to get my eating under control. I believe that low to no carbs, healthy diet works. But my emotional side craves Snacks and ice cream. This year is off to a great start, hadn't had many carbs. I have to not touch the bread when I go out to dinner. I don't know what has come over me this weekend. Nothing I ordered had carbs in it, but I ate the bread on the table. Dumb. Well anyways, I've said all this to raise the question is this diet similar to South Beach? I am allowed the artificial powders and sweets. I'm not really feeling the fake sweets so I rarely eat them. But I do like pudding. Maybe because it reminds me of ice cream :-) Ok, still a long message. Sorry in advance. I guess I'm having a moment. I need help. I want to eat right and health. I've been exercise 6 days a week. Started week before last :-) had my first trainer consultation, and I start this Tuesday. I need help with the eating. I know carbs are the devil and I need your (all of those that want to help and support). I need to master this eating thing. Thanks in advance. (Sorry again for thr long message)- hardest bandster rule to follow for me..
It helps the foods to pass threw you band faster. When you're dry you get full faster and stay fuller longer. But my problem is, I'm always thirsty. If I think about water, I'm ready to drink. I had to stop to drink while responding to these threads. I know this is a big problem for me. I wake up in the middle of the night thirsty. My body craves water. I made it a point to drink more water, but know its my down fall :-(- Huntsville Area
I was asking for the name of the hospital. If you don't want to say, that's ok. Or is Crestwood the name od the center?- the 5 day pouch test
I liked it. I lost 5 pounds. Its a good for reconnecting with your band. I know I needed to reconnect, so it worked well for me. I have been doing green smoothies more, no protein, just fruits and veggies. I feel that this has helped to loose also. I only add protein when I have a serious work out. Just doing this has tighten my band. I too don't have a lot of restriction, so it helps.- I have failed my band - SUPPORT GROUP
My goal is to loose 30 pounds by April. I got a trainer. I working hard to have a low carb diet. I'm not always good at sticking to my goals. This weekend has been difficult. I forgive myself and start a new.- Lapband Failer Wanting To Start Again

That's great. Its all about the small steps. I trying hard to stay on track. How often are you working out?- Lapband Failer Wanting To Start Again
Have you heard of the walking videos called Walk Away The Pounds? You should look into that since walking is your thing. They have one mile, 2mile and as many as 5miles. You are just walking in place. Its fun and a great work out. I'm recommitted to this band. I can't get a fill yet, because I don't have insurance right now. But I'm keeping the starches and carbs low. I'm doing protein, and veggies smoothies. I'm a week in and I've lost 6 pounds. I'm working out an hr a day. Well at least an hour. I can be lazy, but I know that exercise for me is going to get the weight off. I'm finding the exercise that works. On my lazy days, I get on the bike and ride for an hour while talking on the phone or watching a good show. I want this band to work for me. I was banded 4yrs ago. 2 of the years were hard. I had band issues and life stuff. I'm recommitted and it will work. It worked for others so it has to work for me.- the 5 day pouch test
So how's the test going for you?- the 5 day pouch test
The test went well. I lost about 6 pounds, but I ate cake. I know awful. This was my first holiday without my mom and it was really hard. So I put that back on easy. I'm now doing the 30 day green smoothie challenge. The 6 pounds are back off. I'm feeling great. I love that I'm getting a great source of natural vitamins in. I'm keeping my carb/starch intake really low. I hope to get off 15 pounds my the middle of next month :-)- I have failed my band - SUPPORT GROUP
Tabitha I don't believe that anything is wrong with you. You don't need overeaters. You could possibly use counseling to address the emotional studf going on in your life. I've started counseling myself. My emotional plate is full and I don't want to eat my way through. I like to eat. I don't think there is something wrong with enjoying food. I just need to enjoy the right foods and increase my workouts. What I'm learning that the problem that most of us are having is not the band (as most have said) its us. The band is working. In order to benefit from the band we have to work out. And not just 3 days a week it has to be 5 or more, if we want the weight to melt off. Any thing last than 5 days will just keep you where you are, give or take 10 pounds. When I'm working out the weight is coming off. If I'm barely exercising, the weight is not really going anywhere. If you read any success stories from banders, the key element was the work outs. Remember, we wanted something that would work with us as we made the commitment to change our lifestyle. We have to recommit. We have to reduce the carbs, increase the protein. I'm not talking about the protein powder, I'm taking lean meats, and it doesn't have to be lean all the time, but the processed stuff has got to go or be a a serious limit. Let's talk about what we can do to make the changes. I have recommitted and I'm more than willing to encourage whom ever. I need someone to ask me what I ate today, did I exercise. I need the reminder that, you only got 4 days in this week so what's the plan. We all need to vent, but how long will we complain?- I have failed my band - SUPPORT GROUP
I agree. I am so hard on myself. I have given up on myself. I've allowed the things that make me sad, allow me to eat. Wr can't eat our troubles away. I love carbs, but they don't love me. I wonder if the band was the best choice, but I can't take back the time. I'm only 6.5ccs in my 10cc band. I will work on slowly getting tighter, because I'm not happy with the amount of food I can eat. I'm not giving up on myself.- I Feel I want this thing out of me...
