I'm like a man with a dirty magazine...........

That's right I admit it I have been reading menus!! It's like I just can't see one and not flip through it. I love looking at food! I'm back on solids and I am making great decisions, eating small portions and getting exercise. I have lost 34 pounds since the second week in January! I just can't stop looking it's like I still have this food fascination. Now that I am on something other than liquids I feel so much better about this band and I am shocked at how quickly I get full! I guess eventually the love of looking will go away but for now I'll be the girl with the stack of menus under her mattress

    Feeling Hopeful

Thanks I talked to my nurse this morning and she said pretty much the same thing. I did another 30 minutes this morning although after 20 I was ready to quit! How are you doing with exercise?

I did 30 minutes on the treadmill after my port incision was really bothering me. I'm 4 days post op, how long does this usually hurt for?

Take it slow but the more you push yourself the more amazing you are going to feel about yourself. Eventually the exercise will be a part of your routine and you won't be able to imagine life without it!! Good luck

    3 days post op...........

So I had my band put in on Friday the 6th by Dr Cobean at Maine Medical center. It's now Sunday night and I have decided not to go to work tomorrow. I did go to my anatomy class last night but I think I just overdid it this weekend and the gas pains are the ones that are getting me down:angry:. Even the port site doesn't hurt as much as all the gas in my stomach. I'm trying to get my liquids in but today I only got 2 protein shakes down and some water. I thought having to be around everyone in my family while they were eating and stuff was going to be really hard but honestly I'm hardly even thinking about food. I am so grateful to everyone on here who's stories I read and who gave me the courage to believe in myself and get this done. Thank you!!

    February '09 bandsters?

okay so I am now officially banded Woo Hoo!!!! It happened yesterday and really wasn't all that bad. They brought me in at 7:30 and started an IV, I met the anesthesiologist who was really nice. Then Dr Cobean came in to say hi which is when I started freaking out because it all became so real. So the nurse came in and gave me the most amazing "cocktail" in my IV and honestly after that I couldn't care what happened. Soon as I knew I was waking up and it was over. They made me drink some water and get up a little bit before it was time to go home. I did feel really nauseated when I woke up even swalllowing saliva felt strange but that passed. If my port pain wasn't here I would feel pretty good but that actually hurts alot, hopefully it wont last too long. I'm having a sugar free italian ice right now. I don't feel like I can handle protein shakes right now. How has everyone else been about drinking the day after?

    February '09 bandsters?

I am soooo happy for you!! Thank you for sharing I go in tomorrow morning at the same place as you so I'm not as nervous !! I have to be there at 7:30 originally it was 8:00 but they called today and want me there early., which isn't a big deal since I live like 3 miinutes away. I am so nervous about the anesthesia that's the scariest part for me so I hope I don't freak out too bad once I get there. I'll let you know how it goes!
