  1. Wow everyone is on a losing streak! That's so good to hear and I too like hearing all the suggestions and success stories.

Mine isn't so good this week - I weighed in this morning and gained 2 lbs. What a bummer. I've been eating some crackers with a big ole pot of chili I made last weekend and I guess it was toooo many crackers. Crackers are in time out.

You guys keep up the good work. Later.

  2. Motormouth we all have to start somewhere. This is the best place. The "cp" tab is on the home page on the left hand side right under the picture display. Click on that and it will take you to your client profile.

I think it's best to keep the doctor informed of any problems that are occuring. And it doesn't hurt to let them know the dissapointments either. Every doctor is different and how they handle their clients. I have had as little as a .25cc fill because my stomach swells after the fill and it causes too much restriction. So sometimes a little can be enough. Too much and it can be misarable. The main thing is keep on trying different things and bounce things off of us to see if anyone has the same issues.

  3. I'm thinking we all have opportunities to do better and with the holidays around the corner it seems like we're around a lot more unhealthy calorie filled junk foods. I think we have to plan ahead and have those healthy Snacks handy, like in our purse, lockers, lunch bags, etc... if we have something handy we are less likely to grab the junk food. I've been trying the South Beach snacks and although they aren't the best choices I could make they aren't the worse either. Some of them take away the sweet craving and for me that's usually what I'm looking for. I think staying up on your fills and getting them correct is real important for us to feel full for an adequate time between meals also. Try some of the South Beach snacks it might help when others are snacking also.

  4. Hi Plain, I usually eat until I'm full and try to stop before I'm over-full. So portion sizes are my problems. I usually eat double portions (guessing) before I really feel satisified. But, I'm getting a fill tomorrow and hoping that will help. My doctor takes it real slow and in the past when I get a fill my tummy and band disagree for about a week. After that it goes pretty good. Each time I can tell I can eat less and less at each meal. I'm in my fifties and my activies aren't too good either, plus I have a desk job so not much burning calories there.

  5. Wow, I'm new here. Sounds like a Congrats goes out to Apples and Long. All of you are hanging in there pretty good. I would like some ideas for staying on track over the weekends. I do good during the week(usually) but then the weekends arrive and while I'm at home I get the munchies. Old habits die hard!

  6. Hi Everyone. This is the best thread I've found for myself due to the fact I will be celebrating my 1st year band-aversary the 29th of this month. I have only lost 42 pounds and most of that was within the first 4 months. I have had some real issues with plateaus. It is great to finally know that I'm not alone with evil issues of slow weight loss. It's great to hear encouragements and ideas for continuing the fight for success. Keep up the good work.

  7. You guessed it.... I'm new to this discussion group but have been banded for 1 year the 29th of November. I have not lost the weight I thought I would. I live in Plano, Texas and Dr. Stephan Hamm is my band doctor. I've had several fills and I've also had to loosen it twice. I sure would like someone to tell me the secret to continual loosing, if there is one. The band is for a healther choice and I know we've made the right decisions. Let me hear from you.:D
