On the site I found out that the SUMMIT is going to be in San Antonio, Tx on January 23 and 24 2009, the seminars take place on the 24th, and it's $50.00. There is also an agenda that you can download so you can plan your day for the talks. Looks like most are about 1hr long. This is the 5th annual summit, looks interesting I am planning on going. Even if you take just a few things from it, I think it would we worth 50 bucks and there are suppose to be vendors there as well so....maybe some free samples to take home. Besides the fact it's in San Antonio!! What Fun!!!

with 5 or 6 meals/snacks and we need to be drinking 64oz+ of Water a day also, and with waiting 1hr before and after meals to drink, how is everyone getting all that done? What time are you starting your day?? I sometimes just snack for a meal also, but I am not satisfying my cravings. I'm not hungry, but I'm not satisfied either..any suggestions? also not dropping any weight.
Thanks

ahh... now I'm understanding what productive burping means. I'm having the non-productive burping. Mystery solved. Thanks for all your help.

I also read something about non-productive burping. How can you tell the difference in the two?
-
PB'ing... Productive Burping. Is that what that means? Is this productive burping a good thing??? or something we don't want happening? And if it is a no no, why is it a no no? What causes it and how can we keep it from happening? I get the hiccups after I eat, and then in about 30 minutes or so I have a little burp or two. I just thought they went hand in hand. Anybody else asking these same questions? Also, why are we feeling the food go thru our stoma/band? Thought the idea was to keep the food in our small pouch to feel full?
Help, I have sooooo many question,

I got my first fill DEC 3, and I can't really say I get that full feeling either, maybe more today than a week ago, but not much at all. I've heard and read on different blogs it can take up to 2 weeks before it kicks in, and now I'm reading several fills...I too am ready to get that full and satisfied feeling after a meal, but until then, I try
and limit my intake and tell myself I am full. I'm hoping that in another few weeks I get another fill and pray this one starts working for me. Good luck,

I'm in the same boat. I went for my first fill on wednesday with the fillcenters, usa located in austin. The doctor tried 2cc's and it closed me, so she backed it out to 1.5cc, still nothing would go thru, so I left with a 1cc fill, I too was told warm liquids for 48hrs, I made it 24hrs and had 1cup of chili last night for supper. I didn't feel full, this morning I made an omlete, ate most of it, still don't feel full and no restriction. After my surgery I felt restriction because of the swelling. Do you just measure your food and eat only that much? When do you get have that full and satisfied feeling? The Doctor didn't really offer any guidance or advice other than don't drink while you eat, I was rushed in and out so quick I barely remember the 10 to 15 minutes I was with the Doctor. Any ideas??

Hey Fellow Bikers.
Just found the bikers block, still somewhat new to the site and the banded life. Finally some Texas folks to chat with. Anybody gonna make it down to the Lone Star Rally in Galveston in December?

I'm new to this site and the lapband. I was banded 10/17/08. I was wondering what pb'ing means? same as throwing up? Also, can someone advise me on how much I should be eating at a meal? I was never told an amount to keep from stretching my pouch.
Thanks

I was banded on 10/17/2008 in Monterrey Mexico. My Dr. was Dr. Zapata. Everything went very well for me, and i've lost about 15 lbs so far. I'm please with the progress since it's only been a little over 2 weeks so far. I haven't mastered the art of eating just yet. It seems some days I eat better in the morning, and others it's at night.

Yep, you guessed it, another newbie to the banded life. I had surgery on Oct. 17, 08. And I too, have 10 million questions, hoping to find most of my answers on the FAQ forum.

removal of band due to reflux

I've been having a lot of reflux, started taking meds for it, I you could tell me what all you have tried to relieve the reflux I would appreciate it. I really don't want to remove the band and go with the bypass since I was a self pay patient. I had all the saline removed hoping to ease the problem, but it has not helped yet.
