  1. Phazyme is much stronger than gas x and works much better. 10 months out and gas is still an ongoing problem for me.
  2. Costco now carries muscle milk lite RTD chocolate. I am very happy as it's the only kind I can drink!
  3. Muscle milk lite RTD chocolate is the only kind of protein drink I can stand to drink.
  4. I turned 55 September 10th and my body feels younger than it did at 35!
  5. I truly believe the reason people have problems with their band and lose them or have severe reflux and other problems stem from keeping the band too tight.
  6. I would say no. I like to keep my band a bit looser so I stay full after eating, but still can swallow my pills and eat without worrying about PBing often. It sounds like you are at a good point. I wouldn't mess with it and take a chance on being miserable. I have never made advance appointments for fills. I wait until I start getting hungry and eating more.
  7. Best wishes for a quick recovery!!!!!!!!
  8. Shame on your Dr. My Dr. told me to EXPECT a weight gain before my first fill. He needs to be educated in more than one area!!!!!
  9. I could not be happier with my band, This whole process has been easy and we have support groups through our clinics and we have this groupl I got to my sweet spot quickly with two god fills and food no longer was a focus for me. Hunger comes but not usually when it;s supposed to be mealtime by some preset american guidelines. I try to focus on eating when I;m hungry, I am so happy to get full and stay full for a long time. I had started taking it for granted until I had a total unfill for surgery. I was amazed at how quickly the old appetite returned and the food I was able to consume! And when that hunger roars, it;s easy to fall right back into the old eating habits. I love my band and hope I never lose it,
  10. Hopefully your Dr is aggressive enough that after the 2nd fill you will have some good restriction. It's too bad he won't let you return a month after the first as one fill does not do it for many people. Don't get discouraged.
  11. It's very common to be tight in the morning and looser as the day goes on. My Dr recommends a shake for breakfast. I always have a skinny latte in the morning and a shake later. Sometimes I don't eat food until mid afternoon or early evening because I'm just not hungry. It's important to eat something before you get too hungry or you will either eat too much or too fast at your evening meal. I eat bean dishes often and tuna salad in the afternoon. I cannot eat eggs in the morning and I know I am not too tight!!
  12. I added a couple TBS of peanut butter when my wt loss slowed and I immediately started losing again. I eat it often now. I think we often do not get enough good fat in our diet.
  13. I say enjoy it while you can! This will all change once you have fills and get good restriction. Just don't over do it in the meantime!!
  14. I also have to wonder if the Dr's are agressive enough with the fills. My Dr. was from the very beginning and I have never been hungry except when I had a total unfill for surgery. Also we need to be realistic with the amt we lose. I have never lost more than 8 pounds in a month after the initial couple of months of pre-op and post-op, but I never really exercise much either so I think that is wonderful. 1-2 pounds a week is a healthy rate to lose and it does add up. If you are hungry beyond the 1000 -1200 cals a day you should be bugging your Dr. for a proper fill because your band is not working as it should.
  15. My surgeon recommended sonoket s. It is a mild laxative with a stool softener and it works well. I take it a couple times a week usually. I also use the muracil as it does not taste like anything, but it does not seem to work as well for me. I used to take Nature's Secret super cleanse tablets every day and they worked very well. I need to go back to using them. I get them at Hi Health. It's been 10 months for me and no relief from the problem without help! I think it's forever. I have started juicing to get in more fiber now that I am close to my goal weight. I'm hoping the added fiber from fresh fruits and veggies made into smoothies will help.
  16. Just keep in mind 8 ounces is 42 grams of sugar and almost 200 cals!!!
  17. You will end up losing your band that way.
  18. I keep saying that the majority of people who have problems with reflux, gerd, and end up with band problems are keeping their band too tight. It should not hurt to eat and PB's should be the exception not the rule. Night time problems should send a person quickly for a slight unfill.
  19. You can take as much water as you wish on the plane as long as you buy it after you go through security.
  20. I was so excited to find out that I was able to have my radical hysterectomy done Davinci Robotic LAPROSCOPIC!! I immediately thought about what a piece of cake the lapband surgery was and this would be the same with little pain............wrong!! It's definitely not the most painful LAP surgery even!!
  21. That's horrible to have that problem and be a flight attendant. Maybe you could keep your band a bit looser and it might help? I have flown to Africa twice since being banded without any problems. I ate meals on the plane. I hope you can find something to help with it.
  22. I have the same thing happen often. I believe it is due to my low blood pressure. It always was very low in my 20's and more "normal" when I was heavy. Now it is very low again and I get dizzy and black out some if I stand up too quickly. My BP was 90/44 at the Dr's the other day, but they were not concerned! I guess we just have to remember not to get up too quickly!
  23. I drank soda once post banding.......drank an entire can down in a few minutes. I was tring too loosen a stuck capsule and it was suggested. OMG. The gas pain and bloating was the worst I ever had in my life. I was in tears and wanted to die and it was not for a short time, oh no, more like several hrs. I even forgot about the stuck capsule for awhile (by the way, it didn't work!) That was the one and only soda I drank post banding!
  24. I have never had trouble (at least seldom) eating 1/2 cup of food and quite the contrary lately so I think I had better continue drinking my water up until the last minute LOL!!
