  1. At this point, I like Biden the best. I like Obama as well, but I think that he doesn't have enough political experience yet. I'll vote for Hillary if she is the candidate chosen, but she rubs me the wrong way sometimes. The thing is, the Iraqi people weren't our business. We are not the police of the world, especially when we are cherry-picking the destinations of our troops. Was Saddam a horrible dictator, ordering the murders, rapes, and torture of his people? Doubtless. Was he a danger to us? No. Did he actually serve as a deterrent to his countrymen joining Al-Qaida? I think so. Is that deterrent in place now that he's dead? Nope. It depends on what you consider terrorist attacks. Were the Crusades terrorist attacks? Were the attacks on Native American villages terrorist attacks? I am sure the people killed thought so. Ask an Irish person if Christians commit terrorist attacks. I am pretty sure they would agree that they do. On the other hand, I've never seen a Buddhist terrorist. I am not saying that they necessarily reduce the screening, but I do think they should start screening people of other nationalities and religions. Well, you tell me. Which is the more imminent threat? The people who know they are being watched and screened for? Or the people who know that our backs are turned and that we aren't looking for a blonde, blue-eyed man or woman?
  2. I am referring to people like Timothy McVey and the Oklahoma City bombers. I am referring to the whiter than white Christian extremists, the KKK, militias, etc. The thing I am most scared of is that while we are profiling for Muslim extremists, we overlook the Christian ones. I agree that our country has to be ready to fight. Believe me, I am not a pacifist. I think we should go to war when it is warranted. I just don't think it is warranted now, at least not the war in Iraq. If we were fighting a war against Al-Qaida or the Taliban, more power to us. But we didn't attack Iraq because of Al-Qaida or the Taliban. Really? What about the hundreds of Muslim men that were secretly arrested and held after 9/11? What about the Canadian man that we had deported to Syria and tortured? One of the things that gets my goat is that we, as a nation, say that we don't have to follow the Geneva Convention when we capture people or arrest them, because they are accused terrorists and "they aren't part of a uniformed army" or some such crap like that, and then we expect our soldiers to be treated fairly.

    Anti-Semitism In France!

I don't believe in it, but I think it is the only way to get through to you. When you are talking to someone that only speaks Japanese, you use Japanese, correct? Your very words deny what you believe in. You can't attack someone's beliefs and then say you love them. A person's belief system is intrinsic to them, a part of them. You can't hate only part of a person. ETA: Very words, not every action. Obviously, I don't know squat about what you do off the board.

    Anti-Semitism In France!

If someone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? 1 John 4:20

    Anti-Semitism In France!

Actually, I was saying that I hope God sees what your true intentions were, and I hope he sees your attitude towards other beliefs, too. The true measure of a person is in what they do, not what they say.

Haven't you ever heard of Bullshit? It's a CARD GAME, for Pete's sake. One that KIDS PLAY! The point of it is to figure out when someone is lying about their cards. I used that terminology to infer that you were lying!

    Any Younger Bansters Here?

I am 23, and I know what you are going through. A lot of the people I talk to say that I am too young to do this, but I feel that I am preventing a lot of problems by doing it. Like someone else said, I am doing this proactively instead of waiting until I DO have a lot of problems and having surgery then.
  9. I view the paranoia over terrorism as just that, paranoia. We have a much greater chance of getting killed in a car than we do of dying in a terror attack, yet we still drive cars. All this paranoia isn't stopping anything. If anything, I believe it makes us more likely to be attacked, since we apparently have no qualms about stepping on people's rights in the process. One of my biggest objections to the whole mess is that we are focusing entirely on Muslim terrorists, when there is a whole crop of home-grown terrorists right here in the U.S. What happens when they finally realize that we have inadvertently given them a green light to attack us while our attentions are turned to the Middle East?

    Anti-Semitism In France!

I call bullshit. Calling people idiots isn't exactly unintentional. For the record, I am also thrilled that you found something that makes you happy. I just don't think that gives you the right to act like an ass about other people's beliefs. And again, it isn't who was saying it that pissed people off, it was HOW you were saying it. I don't go up to Christians and say, "I'm SO sorry that you will never find the eternal paradise you are looking for. Let me rescue you from your misguided ways!" But apparently, you see nothing wrong in doing just that to those of us who are Christians.

Some doctors require all patients to have a psych eval. It just depends on which doctor you have.

    Anti-Semitism In France!

I know you didn't direct this question to me, but I'll put my two cents in, anyway. The arguement that Jesus never existed is as serious as an arguement that he did. Neither one can be proven. Let me put it this way: Bill supposedly died 70 years ago. Jack writes that Jane told him that she had heard of Bill. Ellen writes that Karen said she learned from Cathy that Bill had done something amazing. There are lots of documents where the writers say they know people who have seen Bill, but none of the authors have personally seen him. No one living has a memory of ever seeing Bill. There are no historical artifacts or documents from the time he was supposedly alive confirming Bill's existence. Did Bill exist? I can say there is a giant green cat lounging in my backyard. I can tell people there is a giant green cat lounging in my back yard. They can tell people there is a giant green cat lounging in my back yard. They can write that there is a giant green cat lounging in my back yard. That doesn't mean there IS a giant green cat lounging in my back yard.

    What I'm scared of...

I'd agree with you here if the band had only been in use for a short time. In the U.S., it HAS only been used for a relatively short period of time, but it has been used internationally for years. The U.S. was kind-of late on the draw.
  15. You haven't had any fills yet, so I doubt you would feel any major restriction. Right now, the band is basically sitting around your stomach, it hasn't been tightened yet.

    Acne

I have used the gel form of this, which is the stronger of the two. The cream didn't really do much for me, but the gel really works. I have to watch out, though, cause it REALLY dries out my skin, so I can't use it every day.

    Anti-Semitism In France!

No, it wasn't. The tone was set by YOU. Like someone else posted (I can't remember who), it isn't so much WHAT you say, as it is HOW you say it. From the first question you asked about her tag, you were insulting.

    Anti-Semitism In France!

Actually, Ron, I said that I doubted God would let bigots into heaven, or something to that effect. I never said or implied that YOU were a bigot. If you feel that comment was describing you, I am afraid that says something about how you secretly feel about yourself. On the other hand, you directly implied that I was either a theif, liar, murderer, or bigot with this comment:
