  1. Sally, good name. I was also nervous before with the same concerns.

I had my surgery at 8 am and was home by 1.I took no pain meds and had some gas and shoulder pain but nothing major. Was out walking a little the next day and walked in the house on same day. I was an emotional eater and have handled it very well. I am on second fill and have dropped 42 pounds and 28 from goal. So just hang in there and follow your doctors orders and you will do fine.

  2. I am married but am by myself a lot and I buy my chicken breast strips and talapia in bags and then put one piece in bags and freeze. Do steamed veggies and have left overs and make small salads. If my dh wants different either I or he will cook it for him. He was so funny the other day. He has'nt had cornbread since April and he said I am so hungry for cornbread and I said well for god sake why did'nt you say so. He said well I knew you loved it to and I did'nt want to make it."how sweet" but it does'nt bother me for him to have the things that I used to think I could'nt do without because he is my biggest supporter.;)

  3. Mert and Endocollector, Welcome to you both. I drank all the liquids I wanted my first and second week out.My doctor admitted he made a mistake when he put boost and ensure on our list because they are for weight gaining. He also had slim fast but I changed to Atkins Advantage because of less calories and less sugar, still do one every morning.

Endocollector why did they not take you off plavix and asprin a little before surgery. I take an asprin a day and they told me to quit one week before surgery.Good luck to you both and it will def. get so much better.:(

  4. As I was cleaning out my closet for the second time today ( a little bragging} I was thinking of all of you and how much I enjoy this lapband board. Just wanted to let all of you know how much I appreciate all the knowledge, advice and support you have given me. I have made it a little over half way to goal. Dropped from 18-20 to 14 and this board was the first place I started when I saw the lapband advertised on T.V.

Thanks to Telly for helping me out when the gas was under my ribs and killing me to even breath. Thanks to all who gave me support when I was stuck before second fill. Thanks to my e- mail buddies-Pat from Nebreska,

Michelle from Maryland. Thanks to my chat line buddies Alison from Greece and Jucyc from Waco who by the way is going crusing with me next summer. Thanks to Jenna and Elisa for putting this together for us.

Thanks to P'Nut for posting my pictures for me and being my inspiration and keeping me laughing. I hope I have been some support to others as well .Thanks to Barb465,Altina and xelapaul for meeting me for lunch.< /p>

Again thanks to all of you for helping me get half way and I would love to meet you all which I will meet some of you next year. Can't hardly wait and you all are in my prayers every night.Oh my god special thanks to Carlene who had me for secert sam. I love all my picture frames. Thanks K@t for putting this together.:)

  5. Hey, Welcome from another Texan. This board is a great place to start.

Wish I could have gotten this band when I was fourty. I am about 3 1/2 months out and would'nt take for my band. You will find a lot of info here but please remember everyone is different. The band is a great tool and will absolutely work if you work with it.;)

  6. Hey Susan and All, Well there are no windows open in Houston.lol

but am having a wonderful day. Anytime I sling my legs and feet on the floor every morning I am having a wonderful day and since this 40 pounds is gone I can sling them over faster.lol. I pray all of you are having a great day and Susan you have been my inspriation since I started.Wish you were going on the cruise with us and am so looking forward to meeting all the others. Alison from Greece is coming to stay with me for the cruise.YEAH Thanks for starting this thread.:)

  7. Hey Missy, Welcome and don't worry about erosion and slippage. If you are comfortable with your surgeon then things will be fine. Those things are a very small percentage compared to all the sucess rates with the band.I am three months out tomorrow and have dropped 38 pounds so far and have had no problems at all and you won't either if you follow your doctors orders and work with your band. Anymore questions feel free to pm or e-mail be. The best to you.;)
