    Diet Pills

Yeah Susan, No your not missing anything. I feel the same way and am almost at goal with my band. Keep the right restriction and you won't need diet pills. What in the world for? Or maybe I don't know, but at my age and as many diet pills that I have taken, yes I do know. Throw them away girls and excerise and keep good restriction and watch those pounds fall and watch that energy level go up.
  2. Melissa, I know we have to be at the cruise line around 12 P.M. on the 17th. and I believe we depart arount 4 P.M.Are you going to be there the Sat. night before. Of those of us that are we need to plan a get together. See ya soon.
  3. I have'nt ask for help in a long time but I am still around. Being playing with the 60's ( 160's ) way to long.Would somebody give them a good swift kick in the butt and get them out of my way. Oh excuse me. I think it's me that has to do that. Well done to you all.

    Prayer Request

Good Morning Everyone, Could I please put in a prayer request for my daughter. I just returned yesterday from West Texas. The doctors did six bands around her vessels and a liver stent in hopes of no ruptures. She has liver failure. They have done all they can do for her. She is in a rehabilatation hospital now trying to get her strength back. This is my child that got hooked on drugs and later on pain pills and liquor and has ruined her liver plus she is bi-polar. A very beautiful and sweet person to have never been able to get a hold on life. I turned this over to God a long time ago when I finally woke up and knew Mom could'nt fix this problem. I just ask that you say a little prayer for her and pray for me to have the strength to get thru it all. Thanks so very much. Sallyjo
  5. I also have a 9.75. Like Sherrijo my first fifty went real fast. The next ten real slow and now the last nine or ten very slow but I know I will make it. I am now at 1.8cc. Was at 2 but had to have a little taken out and now after almost three weeks feel as I need a little more in.Good luck to you.

    new guy in missouri

Welcome from Texas Spark and great luck to you on the lapband. As Robin said the only regret you will have is why did'nt I know about this before now. I am almost at my goal (ticker wrong) and would do this again in a heart beat. Keep us up-dated.

    Panic Eating

Ladies this surgery is not painful. Sure your tummy is sore and swollen and you have gas but nothing you can't deal with. Do a lot of walking inside if it is to cold outside and don't just go to bed when you get home. If you have low pain tolerence then ask your doctor for pain meds. I never had any and did just fine and remember it is all so worth it. I wish you all the best of luck but really try not to worry so much. I need to change my ticker cause I am about nine pounds from goal.
  8. Need to change my ticker. That should read 9 pounds from goal.
  9. Hey all you guys quit being nervous and scared evrything will be just fine during and after. Yeah I can say that now. I was the same way about April 25,2006. But guess what I was scared and nervous for no reason. It has been a very smooth and exciting ride and I am almost at goal. Seems like the time has just flown by. Just remember to follow your doctors orders and you will be on your way. Good luck to all of you.
  10. Rosalie, All of our doctors are different on post op directions. I was one week liquids which was three protein drinks a day with sugar free jello and sugar free popicles and chicken broth. The second week was the same except I could have cream soups and the third week was mushie foods and no soild foods until the fourth week. Now nine months later I am nine pounds from goal and I still have that same protein drink every morning for breakfast. The best of luck to you.

    I need to stop smoking

hey guys, good luck to all of you. Wed. is my quit date. I started Chantix last Wed. I have been smoking since I was 17 and that was a long time ago. It is so dumb of me to get all this weight off and still damage my bod with cigs. I need all the support I can get and I will give the same. Kathy I am proud of you.
  12. I love our LBT forum. It has not swayed me one way or the other and I have followed my doctors orders and lo and behold I believe he must be right as I am almost at goal but I have made two of the best friends and many more e-mail good friends on this board that I never would have met otherwise.I have traveled and spent the weekend with one of my lapband buddies and it was like we had known each other forever and the other I get to meet this summer. So if any of you live close to your band buddies get to know them. Even tho I have'nt met my Greeklish buddie I can tell you I already love her. The best to all our lapbanders.
  13. Yoda this has happened to me twice since I was banded last April except mine did'nt start until about three weeks from fills done under flouro. They can't explain it to me as of why but both times I have had to go for an unfill. I and you know this is not the way it is supposed to be. Yes I really lost the pounds also and tried to wait it out but it did'nt work that way. I never got any relief until they took a little out. What is so aggravating for me is even tho I only had .2 taken out I had just the right restriction for about five days afterwards and now hardly none at all so I would say have very little taken out. This band shes a bitch, my fill is now at the same level it was when I had to get my first unfill, but I've got her down to about 10 from goal so hang in there we will get er done and good luck.
  14. Oh am I and we so proud of you. You go girlfriend. I love you and will take you no matter how much more you lose but I am so happy for you.I feel ashamed of myself at the few pounds I have left to reach goal but I want to try and be a little under by cruise time. I have been bouncing the same few pounds back and forth and we all know why that happens heh? Our time is getting so close and I for one am getting more excited.
  15. Ladies stop worring that you might not be able to do this simply because we are older. I am about to be sixty three and had my surgery last April and am nine pounds from goal. Just work that band and it will happen. Good luck to all of you.
  16. Hey Everyone that is going cruising and you Houston people that are not. Ali will be here from Greece and Jucyc from Waco and lets all plan on lunch on Sat. June 16th or the ones that are going straight to Galveston maybe we could all meet for dinner Sat. night. Let me know if anyone is interested and I will set it all up.
  17. I am counting down the days worse than a kid counting down until school is out or for Christmas. It will be here before we know it. Quit being scared about your long flight and you know who you are. lol:rolleyes:

Im new and have a question

I am so sorry to see this happen to anyone but don't tell me this isn't bulimic and why did any other doctors not know she had a lapband. Don't you know x-rays show the band. I don't know what motive is behind this picture but this absolutely did not happen just because she had the lapband.I would almost bet you my life on it.

What does the "sweet spot" feel like?

Well girls I have wondered since the end of April. I think I finally found it. It was my fifth fill on Nov.21. It finally kicked in four weeks later(second time this has happened to me) Went last Friday and had .2cc taken out leaving me at 1.8. I know it has only been four days but I am never hungry but I can eat. I just have to remind myself to eat and I do. Now this may not be a sweet spot for yall but I call it heaven. I am nine pounds from goal. Kat I am so proud of you.Keep up the good work and everyone else also.:welldone:

Welcome to lapband from Texas Tony. You are doing wonderful. Isn't this lapband the best thing since sliced bread ( which I have'nt had any in over eight months now) and don't even miss it. I am nine pounds from goal and thinking about going down ten more pounds. Hang in there buddy it is a great ride.
  21. Hey Linda, I live in Longview and would love to start a support group. I have asked once but only had a reply from to far away. I know there must be some more bandsters in our area.
  22. Welcome all you new bandsters. Starting a new year. I am almost at goal but I get so excited when I see all of you just starting your new life. Good luck to all of you.

I was just on the ( my time to quit sight) and then came to lapband and what did I find? Others trying to quit also. What a great day.I am only 15 pounds from goal and have got to quit smoking per my cardiologist and myself. Getting the weight off and then killing myself with those nasty a-- cigarettes. Good to see some one on the new med I was reading about. Going to the doctor next week and find out about it. I need all the support I can get and will also give all I can. Good luck to all who are trying to quit and have a great New Year.

    Any caregivers out there?

Carlene you are to funny. I am so glad you have such a sense of humor. I can laugh at you but it was'nt funny when I was in the same ole row boat. I took care of my mom for such a long time and then got my grandaughter who is also 14 now for about a year. My sweet son and daughter-in-law stepped in and said Mom let us raise her and as much as I love her it did'nt take me to long to agree. He aslo has two daughters. I'm gonna come up to Arlington and go to one of your dinner support meetings after the new year. Anyway I got up this morn. and was 15 pounds from goal. Take care and have a wonderful Christmas.
