    Public Smoking Bans

I applaude your town for voting the ban in and for your gov who is trying to get it banned state wide. The mayor may or may not succeed , but either way in the end it sounds like it will work out. I dont' agree it's bad for business if anything it is neatral. Syre some smokers will spend less time in bars but non-smokers now feel freer to spend more time there so it evens out. Smokers always say we are taking away their rights but honestly, smoking affects everyone around you. My parents smoked the entire time I wa growing up and because of that my brother had terrible asthma and I had chronic bronchitis. I spent half of my childhood on antbiotics. Since grwoing up and leaving home I have not had bronchitis once!

    BID...Anyone?

Well all I have to say is that my self body image is seriously warped. I have no clue what I really look like. I look in the mirror and I see fat. I know I've lost 85lbs but all I see is the 90 I still need to lose and wondering if I will be happy then with how I look. I look at people who say they are 1x and I think hah, you are in denial cause you are no 18-20 you're bigger than me! But then I llok in the mirror and even though I am down to a 24 I still think I look like the old 34 that I used to be. I know the scale says I'm smaller and I know my clothes are smaller but I still think I look the same. I'm honestly not sure if I will ever be able to get past it. Maybe it will get easier as I get closer to goal, I sure hope so. I think it's safe to say that body image is the biggest struggle of all for us bandsters or any wls patient for that matter.

    *APRIL* BANDITS May Challenge

Well Betty I think I cought your under the weather. I have been headachey and just exhausted all day, my throat has been a little sore too. I have been enjoying skinny cow for my ice cream cravings. 1 fills you up and is 140cal. It'a an ice cream sandwhich and it even has 3g of fiber! I looked at the B&J and I looked at the skinny cow and I made the right choice, yay me! Now if I could just feel better! Julie, compulsive maybe but definitely amazing and extraordinary in a very good way :fish: Betty and Efficka I like your challenge names they're great  As for the 60's I doubt I will see them till I get a fill again. This not having restriction is just killing me. At least I am munching on rice cakes instead of chips and skinny cow instead of B&J but still I am just getting too many calories for me to lose. I am averageing about 1600 per day and for me that is just way too much, sad but true.

    *APRIL* BANDITS May Challenge

Wow Julie, I do have to say that you are not an average bandster by any stretch of the imaginiation, you indeed are a super bandster and an inspiration to us all. It's funny I was at 10 and it was way too much, now I am back at 9 after my unfill and can eat anything it's terrible! 9.5 I think really is perfet for me. You might be surprised at the difference even .25cc's makes when you are so close to restriction. The difference for me over .5cc's is wide open and on the tighter side of perfect. It does take some experimenting to figure our where "perfect restriction" is. Efficka, call it whatever you want! If one of the 3 doesn't fit your lifestyle make one up! The bronze silver and gold are merely guidlines and ideas. There are lots of metals out there

Welcome Faith I hope they give you your date soon, you have waited so long, you deserve to get your surgery tomorrow! hehe. I just want to say that I am the most non hateful person in the world. I always naturally find the good in people. But when it comes to my dh's ex, I HATE her and it makes me feel terrible for feeling that way, argghh:angry . I don't know how to get rid of this feeling, everytime she does someting I feel this way and then I forgive her because that is my nature and then she just hurts us again. My hubby and I decided not to let her do this to us again even if we have to take legal action, going to the attorneys in about 30min. Meanwhile I haven't eaten anything today, I am too upset to eat and that takes a lot let me tell you. Thank you for letting me vent I needed it today. I don't know what I would do without all of you :target: Josette, I cannot even comment on losing your mom because losing my own so recently it just hurts too much to think about, but please know that I know how hard it is to stay focuesd when you hurt. As for DQ I bought a Peanut Buster Parfait recently 710cal btw ehem. I wasn't able to eat more than a few bites because it was during my way too tight 2 weeks but I left it in the car for several hours. I went back to throw it out and it was still a mushy consistency, It never melted just got warm, eww. That proves to me right there that that stuff is not ice cream, it is some scary chemical stuff. If I am gonna have ice cream and pay that much I'm getting Ben&Jerry's from now on!

Grats Tann you are doing great! Josette, I hear ya. We have been dealing with an absolute nightmare with DH's ex. The scale is slowly moving in the wrong direction and I have no restriction :target: I need to get it together and deal with my stress in a healthier way. There are actual studies that show that despite calories stress will make you gain weight! So I can be good as gold and still gain if I'm stressed out enough, and believe me I am losing it.

I can do Friday at 11, starbucks oh and I went to NWWLS and had Dr Montgomery. Do you guys that go there know that they are gonna be doing a satellite office here in Tacoma and are currently looking for the office space? They will be down here 2 mondays a month and it will be Esther that comes down. It will be so nice not to have to drive up to Everett!

    Girls with facial hair?

After working as an esthetician (skin care specialist) for many years I can tell you that you are not alone, many many women struggle with major facial hair issues and elswhere on the body that we would consider odd or unfeminine. Theoretically hormonal hair will go away when the hormones are in balance again. That said, weight loss will not necessarily make that happen, it might it might not. Personally I have PCOS so this is something I struggle with daily and I hate it. It has gotten worse as I have gotten older and fatter. Now that I am losing and almost halfway to goal the hair has not gone away yet, I am still hopeful. Either way, my present to me when I hit goal is going to be laser hair removal. Their are clinics who will guarantee their work after 5 or 6 treatments, if the hair ever comes back further treatments are free! I know people who have had this done and are still hair free, it really is permanent if you don't have an ongoing issue to make it come back like hormones, which is why I am waiting till my weight is down all the way. Your hair may be simply genetic in which case laser should work for you since your hair is dark. New lasers are picking up lighter hairs but still the best results are with pigmented hair, the more pigment the better for removal purposes.

    4cc band....I want to know....what is full?

All I know is that the 10cc bacn can be filled to a little over 30cc's before it will burst. I would assume that a 4cc could then be filled to 12 before bursting. That said, no one would ever need it filled that much ever! If you ever reach a point where you are not restricted enough and your doctor won't fill you further based on fear of a number get a second opinion and a flouro

    Road to "TWOterville"

Happy May Day Ya know though Libra I bet we aren't eating too much to lose a little bit of weight or maybe we really are maintaining right now, but I have noticed over the last year that when the scale doesn't move the inches do and vice versa. We just have to keep plugging along. Think about the old days when we ate 2000-3000 calories a day and we slowly gained, then we maintained at a weight for a long time maybe even a year or two before starting to gain again. We are doing that in reverse now. Except instead of months or years to gain 10 lbs we are losing that amount in weeks, so the process is faster but it is still a process. Our bodies don't always respond the way we think they should, they are way too smart for that. I also think that nutritionally speaking sometimes it's good for us to be a little loose so we can eat more of the nutrients that we normally get only via Vitamins. So we get that rouphage in our diet for our colons now and then too. I am trying really hard to see this time being without restriction as a positive. It is strange to know that the difference between wide open and perfect is .5 in a 10cc band, that seems wildly crazy but it is what it is :girl_hug: and by the middle of May I will have that restriction back. I also promise to be happy there for a long time and not search to be always tighter.

    APRIL Bandits' Exercise Challenge!

Julie you are awesome, you go girl! Tracey you are doing so great! Keep it up I am over the omgosh I can eat phenomenon and am now sitting here with no amount of any real restriction. Early in the day I have some but by evening it's almost all gone. I am however taking advantage of this lack of restriction to fill up even my head! on veggies and fruit. Big salads with under 50 calories! and bowls of melon, yumm. I think tomorrow I might een try an apple! I just can't eem to do under 1000 caloires withou the restriction but I am staying below 1500 and eating all good healthy calories! Maybe having this period of healthy food at a little higher calorie range will help jump start my metabolism a little and help me lose a little more regularly, who knows. My scale isn't moving but my clothes are fitting differently, so I know I am losing inches. Tomorrow is a new month and I have to get to the gym and get in that habit again! These last two weeks I got way to slack, so I'm kicking myself in the heiny to get me moving again Who's starting the new months thread, Julie? Boo?

    Road to "TWOterville"

lol, no one ever posts over the weekend on this thread, it cracks me up. Well I am doing good, I have my calories under control despite no decent amount of restriction. To fight hunger I have liberally enjoying a real treat called salad. I have been having sometimes large bowls of lettuce with cucumber and green onions with ff italian dressing. An almost calorie free treat. Lettuce is hard for me when I have good restriction and I can only eat a little bit of it, but right now it's easy as can be I have alao enjoyed some of the early fruits of the season, with a bowl of mixed melon :hungry: . I am choosihng healthy food like raw fruits and veggies to snack on! This is major for me! The scale is fluttering but seemingly going nowhere. I have noticed that I am losing inches though. I haven't measured or anything but I am noticing in the last week my clothes are fitting differently, so hopefullythe scale will move soon!

Family friend died from lapband surgery last week

I think the death risk is something like 1 in 1000 as opposed to rny being 1 in 200 (or 1 in 100, I've seen both stats) We think of it as so safe but the truth is no matter how safe a surgery is surgery there is always a risk. It doesn't matter how low the death rate is it is terrible for the person and their family if they are that 1 person. I hope and pray that her family understands that she did this for them, so that she could be healthy and enjoy life. A tragedy that that desire was not met.

    APRIL Bandits' Exercise Challenge!

Juile and Dawn need to contact Inamed. I bet they could make a small fortune being theit poster girls! Good job ladies. Kat I am still praying, I hope they move Rick to the better hospital first thing tomorrow and get him all better quick! Betty, good for you not giving up when you went a little over. I wish I could say the same, but yesterday was like a floodgate opened after the bbq. Today the tide is slowed and I WILL be on track. It is way too late to make my April challenge but Monday I will be going to the gym anyway. This is the most I have excersized in years so I did good, I may not have met my goal but I made great improvement!

Wow Libra you look amazing! Thanks everyone for the words of support, now I just have to fight the demons that tell me I want food even when I don't. It is really hard after feeling so deprived when I was too tight. I feel like a starved person who finally is given food. Sigh, it will all work
