    Wahoo !!!!! I did it!!!

Well ladies and gentlemen, It is official, I am banded! I feel a little sore mainly in the the shoulder. I am sipping my fluids and all in all doing pretty great. I know one the rest of the surgery meds wear off it will get a bit more tender but that's ok! Nothing could have prepared me for how small the incisions really seem in reallity, nor how easy it would all really be

    Sleep Apnea Evaluation

Most insurance companies will cover a sleep study and the machine. If you have to pay for it yourself it is a bit pricey, but not nearly as much as the lap-band surgery. I wish I could remember how much it cost for you, but there are different ones, there is one that they do in your home that is much cheaper. I would suggest researching different testing places.
  4. Grats Teresa You are doing great! All of you are
  5. On the acid reflux question. My doctor told me that I would probably never need acid reducers or antacids ever again. I think the reflux people talk about on here must be more af a food reflux that doesn't contain acid. I have always had problems with acid even on an empty stomach, but none int the last almost 24 hours since surgery, hoping to never again

    Period after operation enquiry

Anytime you combine obesety and menses and weightloss you get lots of weird stuff. Mine has never been regular, I hope one day with a healthy weight it may become more normal. If you are having a heavy flow and feel weak and lethargic call your doc, you can become anemic. Otherwise, light periods can go for a while before becoming a problem. Listen to your body
  7. Well it can't get fresher in my mind than today! I woke up very quickly and immediately asked for my DH. My brain worked a little before my voice. My vision was blurry kinda like a drunk person right at first. Drinking(sipping) was easy and so refreshing. Within an hour my vision was totally normal and I was on my way home! You have nothing to fear. This was my first surgery and first iv so I was a little nervous. But two thums up :thumb:

    Lap-Band and PCOS

I tried metformin but it did not help my periods resume as i'd hoped. And as for for weight loss, nothing. Basically it did nothing noticeable for me. Weightloss is supposed to be the very best thing for it. So here I go

    Lap-Band and PCOS

    thanks for the link
  11. ajenkins07, As far as I can tell you are normal I was told that after the swelling went down that I would not feel restriction (especially since I would be on liquids and then soft mushy foods that would go right through) and that I would be hungry. As for feeling crummy, you just had surgery, relax and let yourself heal, do your best on the water and protein because blood sugar fluctiations can make you very nausiated as well as dehydration. Also, ask your doctor for some anti-nausia medicine. There is no need to be miserable. And good luck
  12. Thanks Teresa, I feel totally obsessed with my surgery, now about 24 hrs away clock's tickin'

    I have a question....

As my surgery draws very near I am afraid of what happens if I get a cold? Will they have to reschedule? I have been around a few sick people this last week and am worried. Help!

    Question about "Telling People"

I am so excited that I am telling everyone! Good news travels fast :biggrin1: I know that this will be successful for me. Molly
  16. Well I guess I'm joining this group, hehe. I get banded in about 36 hours. Yes the countdown is in hours. I am looking forward to the day when my scale stops reading err, but I refuse to buy a new scale! I figure I am about 20 lbs away from the scale working for me again, so I will bide my time. Molly
  17. Casinocat, In the last year I had to make the decidion to do RNY or LB. Both are effective tools, and I belive both require your participation in order to reach and maintain your goals. No one can lose the weight but you, and no one can make the diecision but you. This decision you are sitting on is a big one. We will support you in whatever you decide . Oh, before you make a final decision, talk to your friends and family. They love you and can help you. Molly

    starting liquid diet tomorrw

My surgery is in 2 days and just hunger pains Because of my BMI my doc wanted to make sure I lost a good 10 lbs if possible before surgery so he said for me 2 weeks. After surgery he said liquids 2 weeks then soft food 2 weeks, then start incorporating real food. We will see how that goes :guess

I am still in my pre-surgery diet. My doc just said 800 calories a day for 2 weeks for me. It has been truly painful. I keep telling myself that when my stomach growls I am burning fat and after the surgery and a fill or two I need never feel hunger like this again and still lose! You can do it, I know you can. Just take it one day at a time Molly

    Easy Way OUT??

I am facing this very issue right now. My husbands ex-wife (who by the way has a pretty big bootie herself) and her mother told the kids that I was a cop out, and that this was the easy way out. It was very hurtful. But ya know what? One day I will be smaller than her, I will be healthy and happy, and she will still be frustrated slowly gaining weight while she struggles to renew commitments to diet and excersise. My way may be easier, but so what? My way will actually work!
