I like Lucky Losers or March Madness! I am hoping to have surgery end of March. I should know early March what the date will be.

I am like others...and have told people. I'd shout it from the rooftops if I could (that I am getting banded). I am so proud of myself that I realize that I need help to be healthy (rather than living a lie and continuing to do nothing about it, and getting bigger in the process). It's not a surprise that I am this way. I have found that people admire my choice, and are helping me in anyway they can. Be proud. Tell everyone so they can support you!! :cursing:

$20 a class?? For 6 classes?? That's $120 - not what we had to pay at our first class (for the program).

How long was your psych eval?

No....I am talking about the 6 months of classes you need to attend prior to surgery. There is a fee associated with the classes/program.

I'm excited....went to class #2 last night...lost 9 pounds since last weigh-in!! Woo hoo

Hi Everyone, I am really new to this. I just started the Lap Band journey 2 weeks ago. In my state, and for insurane reasons....I have 5 1/2 more months before I can get approved for the produce to be covered by my insurance (they do this to weed out those who won't stick with the diet post-op). I have been reading others post and it really has given me encouragement for my upcoming journey. I am really excited for this new beginning to my life. I appreciate everyone openess and stories. Here's to us!

There are several guys going through my program. And who cares in the end, it's all about us getting healthier!

I know I am late to this, I just joined today.... I live in Pgh, and am going through the Magee program. I am so excited for this opportunity. I just started...and have 5 1/2 more months before I can get approved.

Things I won't miss.... ~buying plus size clothes ~ugly clothing options ~compairing myself to others ~noticing I'm the biggest person in the room ~wearing elastic for the majority of my pants ~worried about having to share a seat on the shuttle ~thinking the shuttle "dips" when I get on or off ~people looking at me when I eat out ~getting tired ~feeling like a monster trapped in this body ~fat people jokes I can't wait for my surgery!!
