  1. I really haven't been feeling well since surgery so I have been really bad about getting my exercise in outside of work. But my work is really physically demanding and I work there for 7.5 hours 5 days a week. I'm constantly lifting and running around for my whole shift. I leave work really exhausted! hahaha
  2. Two of the older women at work who I've worked with forever and they are like mothers to me both said on the same day that I'm looking really bad, sick, and not myself. Now I didn't tell them about my surgery just because they are very old fashioned and don't know how they would take it so I haven't told them yet. They do know I had surgery though. I'm still on liquids so I'm very tired at work and I've been losing a lot of weight in my face so I'm sure that makes me look sickly. I didn't think these comments were offensive just funny. I know they are just looking out for my health.
  3. I just had 2 protein shakes. I'm still on liquids until friday
  4. I can barely eat anything and I have good restriction but my doctor filled my band to 3cc during surgery.
  5. Congrats on getting your date. I'm also a student but I got lucky and my surgery was 2 days after winter break started so I've had plenty of time to recover. Are you getting excited?
  6. I can't believe some of the things people will say!!! Some people just don't think.
  7. Hi Nickilin!!!! How is your band treating you?

  10. Whatever you do don't try to pull off the steri strips. It can blister if your skin isn't ready. I was playing with one of mine and pealed it back a little and sure enough I got a tiny little blister.
  11. Sports bra Liquid tylenol gas-x Thermacare shoulder neck hot pads ( helped with the shoulder pain) If you dont already have a ice pack get one it feels good on the incisions sweats for the hospital slippers for the hospital pillow for the hospital Those were all my necesities for the first few weeks
  12. hahaha I still do that! It's the people at work that kill me. Every day they have me rolling on the floor.
  13. I would never be able to do this diet without the band. The band is such a blessing and I love it. I know I'm still in the early stages but the band has really given me the kick in the pants that I needed.
  14. Hopefully you don't have to wait too long! Good luck with the lab work.
  15. I agree I don't want to even test the soda. Although my doctor says I can drink flat soda if I wan't but that doesn't sound good. Jokingly he said that I could have a carbonated soda if I wanted but I probably won't want one ever again because you get really gassy. I had some wine on xmas though and it went down fine.
  16. My problem is that I laugh a TON! Everytime someone makes me laugh my port hurts like crazy. Anyone else having this problem?
  17. My incisions are doing good. I can't see my port incision because my steri strips haven't come off there yet, but it's close. denal8 I didn't tell very many people at my work about the surgery. I've lost 33lbs since dec 1st and the funny thing is that no one has really said anything about my weight loss but i do catch some people looking. It's fine with me that they aren't saying anything, it makes it easier for me! hahaha As for what to say when people do notice you could tell them that you are taking your new years resolution seriously this year. Or that your doctor has put you on a strict diet and exercise plan.
  18. I feel your pain big time!!! I also have 4 week clear liquids. I get to move to mushies on january 9! but then I have a month of just mushies. So I don't get solid foods until february 6th! It sucks but our doctors have us do this for a reason.
  19. Is there already a thread for the 2009 weight loss chalenge?
  20. My doctor ingrained the post-op diet risks into my head. He told me that there was a lady who got her surgery in Mexico she wasn't told the risks either. well she went and ate solid foods way too early and she ripped her stiches, her band ended up slipping and then her band ended up strangling her stomach and she died. That story really freaked me out! I know all these horror stories are rare, but it is better to be safe than sorry.
