Am I the only one with a 4 week post-op liquid diet?

Ok, so I see some of my fellow December bandsters are now on mushies and even getting "stuck" on solid foods... Am I the only one that is on a 4 week liquid post-op diet?

The last thing that I had to "chew" was Thanksgiving dinner! I will be able to start eating solids on January 8th... but that is still over a week and a half away! uggggggg....

Just wanted to know if there is anyone else out there feeling my "pain" :)

Do you have a mushy phase at all in your post-op diet? I had two weeks liquids broke up between clear and full liquids and then two weeks mushies. Finally on Jan 5th, one month after surgery, I get to go to solids.

I feel your pain big time!!! I also have 4 week clear liquids. I get to move to mushies on january 9! but then I have a month of just mushies. So I don't get solid foods until february 6th! It sucks but our doctors have us do this for a reason.

It is very confusing, you would think there was a "standard protocol" for being banded. I had a 4 day clear liquid preop, followed by a 2 week clear; 2 week full liquids and then on to 2 weeks of soft/mushie. After each fill, it goes back to 2 days of each. I finish my 2 weeks of clear today!! Yeah - I already made some homemade potato soup to have tomorrow - pureed, but that is okay. I am at "regular" foods on Jan 30th, just in time for my first fill and another round of the liquids. While it is frustrating - especially here at the holidays, I understand the medical reason, so plan to do my best to stick with it. Good luck to all of us Holiday Hotties!
