I was banded on 12/12/08. Highest - 324 lbs. Current - 225 lbs. Goal - 170 lbs. I've had 2 fills. I'm at about 5.6cc's in a 10cc band. I'm going to get another fill on the 5th. I've had REALLY good restriction because my swelling from surgery isn't going down as fast as most people. But I'm not at my sweet spot. a take a liquid vitamin D suppliment. but I take flinstones for my multi vitamin. I need better vitamins though because I'm loosing my hair. hahahaha

first of all everyone looks AMAZING!!!! here are a few things I made today. I'm offically down 98lbs.

yeah I didn't tell all of my friends. I think some of them think I'm anorexic but I tell them that I'm just being better about portion sizes. hahaha

ok so I'm bad I probably go out drinking about once a week with friends. well before the band I could drink a TON before I felt it. now I'm the biggest light weight EVER. I normally have about 3 cran vodkas and I'm done. Eating is a little tough. I haven't told all my friends about my surgery and I think that they think I'm anorexic. They are constantly teasing me about how I can't finish anything I order. hahaha but I'm so glad I did this now instead of later.

here is one NSV I've had. About a month ago I went over to my friends house. I hadn't seen her boyfriend since right before my surgery. well the next day when I saw my friend she said that after I left she over heard her boyfriend calling his friends and saying "oh my god sarah was over and she looks completely different! she looks really good!". It's always nice to hear what people say about your weight loss when you're not around! hahaha

I think it's normal for the process to go really quick but that wasn't the case for me. I had all the testing done but my insurance said that I had to do a 6 month diet first. by the time I was done with that I had to re-do all my testing. My insurance did finally approve me though.

yeah don't stress the psych eval they basically want to make sure you have realistic expectations.

some NSAIDs are fine on the stomach. I'm perscribed celebrex by my lap-band doctor.

I'm just shy of having lost 100lbs(I can't believe it!) so I thought I would post some collages I made!!!!

I love my band! I also didn't know which way to go but I'm really glad I went with the band. The deciding factor was that if I get pregnant I don't have to worry about malabsorbtion and I can get an unfill so that I can get enough food. Also with bypass your pouch can stretch and you can't do anything about it. With the band if you lose restriction you just get a fill. As for the sweets you probably wouldn't be able to get full off of them because they would go right through your port. you need to choose foods that stick in your pouch so that you don't get hungry.

I wasn't hungry until I started eating mushie foods a month after surgery.

my doctor is really agressive so when he put in the band he filled it to 3cc's and I had my first fill on friday and he added another 2.75cc's so now I'm at 5.75cc's and I have good restriction. but last week when I still had just the 3cc's I really didn't have too much restriction.

If you feel like you want to chew something just chew on some gum. it really helps
