  1. Hi there, great to hear you're doing well. When do you get your first fill? I'm doing great, down 44 pounds total and finally have restriction, (didn't need to get anything taken out). It took 3 fills to get there, but it's nice! I actually live in Miami Heights too and usually just drive through Cleves to get to Kroger or the Cleves Drive Inn for dinner, lol. I just got over bronchitis and then gastro, but now I'm feeling much better...finally! Can't wait for warm weather to start walking more because I'm sure that will speed up my weight loss.

  2. I'm doing well. I had my third fill about a week ago, and I'm trying to decide if it's ok, or if maybe the Dr. should take out 1/4-1/2 ml. I have to be very careful about chewing and what I eat now so I don't get anything stuck. I'm going to give it a little longer before I decide. I'm glad your surgery went well. I hope you're enjoying your time off work!

  3. I live in Miami Heights too, my address is North Bend. I am an RN, I'm a nursing manager at Children's in the ER. Where do you work? I'm excited for you, lap-bands are WONDERFUL! I am ecstatic with my band, I can't promote it enough. The mild post-op stuff was manageable, I took 3 weeks off work, and I'm thrilled with my results. I was fortunate with my insurance, I didn't have to wait 6 months, and I was approved within a week of applying. I knew it would be easy as many people at Children's are getting the band or bypass. I think it's included in our insurance because we do the bypass surgery on kids, but I don't know. It's really cool to meet someone that lives close! I've been thinking about a membership at Curves in Miami Heights, it's not even a block from my house, but I haven't looked into it yet. I know work doesn't count as exercise, but I'm so tired after being on my feet all day, and my department and hospital are huge, I know I walk a ton.

  4. Hi there, I went back to work last Monday and was just over three weeks post band. I had my schedule arranged to do light duty until yesterday, so I had four weeks total post-band that I didn't do patient care or lifting. I was paranoid that I would mess up my band by lifting, and since I work in an ER, I didn't know when I would have to wrestle with a psych patient or have to do CPR spur of the moment. My physician was very generous and let me basically name when I wanted to go back, (within reason). Actually walking into the department for the first time post band was really cool. Some people knew I had been banded and they told me how great I was looking, others who didn't know kept asking me if my hair was different, lol. I have lost 24 pounds, and I already have more energy and the work day goes much better, plus I'm in a better mood!

What kind of nursing do you do?

  5. Sounds like we're a lot alike. I have a black 95 Cobra vert that is my daily driver, and an 87 GT that I like to drag race with. My husband has also owned many Mustangs, and currently has a 92 lx coupe that he is putting a turbo kit on, (he likes to drag race as well). I enjoy going to car shows too, and used to enter my 95 all the time, until the paint started to look like it was a daily driver :)

I get banded this Friday, (November 3rd) and I can't wait! I'm sure I'll slip up along the way, but hope I have more good days than bad ones. It's great to meet you, where are you from?
