  1. It shows overall ignorance of the procedure and what it involves. I applaud New Brunswick!
  2. That IS a great NSV Mandi!! No worries...in the future, if you feel like talking to the receptionist lady about the "other" part of your secret you can....but you don't need to feel obligated in any way; it is your business and you don't have to be a walking advert for the Band! You'll know if/when to talk about it to certain people. Have an AWESOME wknd in one of my former hometowns!!! Have a pint on tap at the Lower Deck for me and sing "Barretts Privateers"!
  3. You'll have a BLAST in Halifax Mandi. Yes, be sure to go to Peggy's Cove....wonderful!!! Also, you MUST MUST MUST go to the pub, "The Lower Deck" on the watefront.....you can NOT go to Halifax and NOT go there. It is THE best pub with a worldwide reputation. Nothing fancy...just long wooden table and benches where you sit with strangers (who don't stay strangers for long) but they have THE best bands and ALL of the patrons just sing sing sing!!!! I hope you go!!! Have fun!
  4. I don't see why u couldn't have it done in Ottawa....GOODLUCK!
  5. No questions are silly, so don't feel like an idiot!! Yes, you can have crystal light. And...yes, during the pre-op diet you can drink when you eat etc....no problem at all.
  6. Good luck to you Doriana....and to your hubby (sounds like he is doing VERY well!!). You can do it...you are correct though, the first 3-4 days will likely be the hardest so try try try to stick with it; I promise it will get easier (not "easy" but "easier"). It's good that you like cottage cheese; I can't stand to even look at that stuff, so I only had yogurt. Hint: eat the yogourt/cottage cheese etc really slow....make it last throughout your "mealtime".....you'll want to gobble it but try not to. Not only will it train you to eat slow but you will feel like you are having more than you really are. Also, it might help to put your yogurt/c. cheese in a lil' bowl and eat it from that instead of directly from the container (that way you know how much you are having...and more importantly you will "feel" like you are having a meal....ya know?). and....drink drink drink drink your Water....it will be even more important over the next few days as you have the carb withdrawal! YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!! (god knows if I could, anyone can!) :clap2: :clap2:
  7. HOLY CRAP CAROL!!! I would just like to say.... YOWZERS!!!! LOOKIT you go!! YOUR weight loss is AMAZING....you will be at goal in no time!!! Congrats!!! :clap2:
  8. Yea man, that all still sounds so freakin' CRAAAAZY to me. *rolls eyes* :rolleyes
  9. A few yrs ago I had to travel to a few various police training centres (including the RCMP Academy in Regina) to do a comparative analysis on their trg programs. FUN FUN FUN!!!!
  10. aaaaaaah....leave it to you Cloe to come up with that icon!
  11. ahem....I would also like to point out that I've been realllllly good and haven't said one single word about mandi's head shrinkin'....cause oooooh, there is soooooo much I could say there....she completely opened the door on THAT one. But I have refrained!!! (with some difficulty, I might add!).
  12. Alrighty...well CANADA here!! What grades are middle school??? In Canada....there is even a very small %age of High schools that have football teams!!! It's just not that big up here (in schools).... But, I get the point! LOL but....now, grown men playing football.....and all that ass slappin' is about the only thing worthwhile watching wrt football!!!
  13. Forgot to mention....yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy on your new glasses....you should have them in no time!! I just about croaked at your prescription though!!! I WISH!!!!! Mine is at -7 and -7.25 *sigh*.
  14. That is great Mandi!! I know!!! Isn't it amazing when you look at the tape at how many inches you've lost...and it's like WHERE THE HELL WAS THAT??!!! I still do it once a month as well and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend it; especially for those who are strugglin' with the pounds...cause you WILL see the inches fall off!
  15. *hands over some duct tape*. I hear it works for everything; smack some onto that scalp of yours!!! Okay, seriously though.....don't worry.....it'll stop before too long and the weight will come off eventually too. It WILL be worth it in the long run. Don't get discouraged. I know it may be easier for me to say since I didn't have any significant hair loss. I know I did have some but my hair is so damn thick it was a blessing in disguise. But just hang in there!!
  16. Your from the Prairies Mandi....ever had them prairie oysters? I heard they are supposed to be realllllllly yummy...but I'd never try 'em unless I tried 'em thinking they were something else first!! Just the thought of it makes me wanna hurl!
  17. LMOA now THAT was a good one Wheezy!
  18. Now Wheezy....do you mean "meatballs" made out of moose meat or actual Moose testicles???!!! (cause I just saw a show on prairie oysters (cow testicles) and ewwwwww!!!). I had bear balls (not testicles....bear meatbals) once and I did NOT like those at all!! Very very very gamey tasting. Blech.
  19. I'm sure Mr. Cloe would be more than willin' to speak with a German accent. Now....for me.....give me a man with an Irish or Scottish accent ANY day!!!! (not English though....ewwwww). As for the bag over his head...ummmm.....you did mean to cover his FACIAL features right? Not the lower head??!!! (hey, some can be pretty downright ugly lookin'!) ROTFLMAO
  20. ahem.....ummm....errr... Cloe, that is DEFINITELY not too much food. I tend to agree with some of the others; probably not enough....don't deprive yourself. Then again, because you just had a fill, you may be "testing the waters".....right??? Yeaaaah, that's it...... That wasn't a lot either Mandi....but yes, more than Cloe!! LOL Dr Yau told me that even if I don't "feel hungry" to be sure to eat at mealtime anyways....(he is also a huge proponent of eating THREE meals a day...that means breakfast people!). He said otherwise your body will start to feel deprived (& we know what happens when THAT happens) and he said if you don't....you will feel super hungry "all of sudden" and then reach for something you didn't plan for (ie. unhealthy etc). It makes perfect sense, really. So, I do ensure that I eat at mealtime, even if I'm not feeling the need to eat....just a few bites, ya know?
  21. That really IS awesome Mandi....well done. (does Dan smoke?) Really though, quitting smoking will even do more for you than losing the weight....so kudos to you. I never smoked a ciggie in my life so I can't honestly say that I know how you feel but I do know it must be (& will be) tough; just stick with it. You already know you can stick to things.
  22. Yes, it would be a good idea to have some sort of liquid Protein supplement for your first couple of weeks after the surgery. If I had known about this protein Water and its avail. in Canada I likely would have tried it and stuck with it if I liked the taste. Give it a whirl...try it in advance (along with a couple of other sources) so you know what you like and will "enjoy" during your post-band recovery. Now, if they could only come out with protein popsicles!!
  23. Hyuck Hyuck!!! I don't THINK so!!! Unless I post some pics of a midget-like green feller! Sounds like a good idea to me. But, yeah, noooo pics of me will be there.....mostly for then I will have absolutely noooooooooooooooo anonymity (sp?)....don't forget, I'm "wanted" so...you know....I gotta keep my photo out of the public! (that and if I post my pic my old stalker might find me).
