  1. Yes Yasmina, the band should be stitched in a few locations to the stomach to help better anchor it. Not all doctors do this. Rest assured that at TLBC, it is done in that manner.
  2. No problem Mandi.....Feb is your month!!! Plus I bet this time next week you will be at the 100 lb mark!!! No small feat!!! WHOOOOT !
  3. Hey....to each his/her own Mandi!!! It's your life, my friend!!! No worries about what others think....and us judge??? c'mon!!!! You'll know when your ready to wear it in public.....but I say go for it....the first time will be the toughest. Now, if you had your eyebrow pierced, I might say> "eewwwww" but still to each her own!!! (I have a tatoo.....*shrugs*.....no big deal!).
  4. Thanks everyone. Neenagh: my appt is Monday. On a good note...no vomiting for the last two days....but that may be because I've been drinking diovol and taking a pepcid complete (or whatever the $#$%# it is called!).
  5. That is ridiculous Becca.....I agree, that is NOT high and ONE reading is not sufficient to diagnose you with Hypertension. Plus, most people have higher than normal readings anyways when at the Doctors office (White Coat Syndrome). I agree, I don't think you need your GPs approval. Who the $^%^%@%$##$# does he think he is??? For sure discuss this with Dr. C's office and I bet all will be okay.
  6. Conisder it done! LOL
  7. Protein powder clogging your band??? That is so beyond ridiculous!!! Hellooooo!! Common sense people!
  8. *in awe over Maria's all powerful zapper* it is possibly more potent than my sabre, me thinks!!!
  9. That is GREAT Maria!!! WAY TO GO!!! Keep it up! :clap2:
  10. I like the way you think Loriely!
  11. Stay positive Neenagh....good luck and keep us posted!
  12. mee toooo meeee toooooo!!! Heck, do 'em all in one fell swoop!
  13. Thankfully Mr Yoda is just as (if not moreso) fair as I am....so we both end up being sun phobics together.....it was funny when we went to Mexico a year and a half ago.....no sun for us bunnies, I tell ya! But...psssssssssssst, Green & Neenagh....go to Columbia for a holiday.....when I went there (a loooong time ago - pre fat!) the guys went absobloody nuts over my red hair and white skin......they loved it, let me tell ya!!!! LOL
  14. Loriely, I did only have .5 ccs put in!!!! Cloe....I dunno....the clinic and the pharmacist told me to avoid anything with caffeine in it and tea does have caffeine (????) Astrotoes, it should be a discussion between you and your doc (or fill nurse) as to how much....but at the beginning the doc will know what is best for you....but then only you can know how tight or lose you are or how restricted you are etc....they rely on your feedback. IMHO it should be the same if you live in town or out of town (from the fill place)....I don't think it is something you should mess with. In other words, one shouldn't be filled aggressively on purpose only because they have to travel further for their fill....it is not good in the long run.
  15. hi & welcome Laura!
  16. all of it or some of it?
  17. completely???? ummm no!!!!! Whaddya talking about???? He better not and that is coitanly not my plan!! I only want .25 cc taken out (which is half of what he put in)..... That being said, the last 2 days I've been having really bad stinging pain along my esophagus....very painful...the diovan has helped some. I think it is from the excessive "vomiting" and the stomach acids coming up. I guess it is heartburn; although I'm guessing at that since I never had that before....but it IS a burning painful sensation. Not knowing it would make it worse, I drank a sip of grape juice today and OMIGAWD, I thought I had died and gone to hell.....it felt like someone took a blowtorch to my esophagus. Monday can't come soon enuf!
  18. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm....that is just plain sick!! Leave it to Billy.....I like his music but have never actually liked "him" much.
  19. Mookie.....okay, I gotta ask (don't know if I missed it elsewhere...)....you got "peed on by Billy Idol"?????? Info plse.
  20. No waaaaaaaaaaaaaay Yasmina.....you are MUCH better off doing the yogurt thing. Trust me!!! That is the one I did....but a few yrs ago I went thru the whole Optifast program (months of optifast!!) and TRUST me, you are better off!!! If they had told me to do optifast at TLBC, I would said, "ya okaaaaaay" and then just had yogurt!!! Hands down, you are in a better position!
  21. Actually Green, the last time I had it (fluro) Dr Y told me I no longer needed to have it under fluro and that I could go to the clinic but that I could ask for him to do it (to avoid any possible problems). So when I called and mentioned that to Nancy she said I was better off seeing him at his office vice the clinic otherwise I'd have to wait 3-4 hrs at the clinic and try and nab him between surgeries. So I opted for an office appt. His office is in Scarborough on Finch....which works out better for me since I don't have to get all the way downtown. Otherwise, yes, it woulda been kewl to connect; you coulda taken me to your barbershop! Oh, no worries Mandi...I have a feeling this ummmm...problem is here to stay until I get some taken out. Plus, even if I do feel "better" Mr Yoda will MAKE me go....I know I have him really worried. I've been trying to hide the amount of times I'm vomiting from him but I apparently am LOUD when I do it!!! Even if I run the water and shut the doors and turn the fan on....he still knows I'm doing it! Plus, the fact I'm even trying to hide it from him means something is "up" and I need to have this taken care of. I hope this week goes very very very quickly......it really sucks in the evening and during the night.
  22. I hear ya Neenagh...I'm a redhead too but I have blond and brown highlights put in my hair.
  23. DEFINITELY talk to your doc. The most important thing is your safety and health....forget about the weight loss for now. Nip this in the bud right away and then you can continue on your journey!
  24. no....good gawd, no freezing required!! These folks in the States who need freezing are wimps!!! LOL....and no numbing creme needed!!! LOL. Really....it hurts not more (even less so) than getting a needle; pulling out a splinter hurts more. and...take it from me....THIS statement coming from someone who was poked for 2 hrs looking for the port (okay, it did start to hurt but who wouldn't hurt after 50 pokes?). But that was an abnormality.....they generally get it on the first or second try.....piece of cake....2 mins tops.
  25. I'm tellin' ya guys....use the orange extract with the chocolate opti.....it will taste like a Terry's Chocolate.
