AARGH!..just wrote you a good reply, then deleted it by mistake!!..anyway, hope you will find some restriction after your fill..bet your sick of the mushies!..maybe the banana thing was an indication that you will feel more restriction on solids?.glad your feeling well and going back to work. the lady who put half stone on, did she eventually lose it after a fill do you know? knowing me..that will be me too..half stone!..while the others do well.. but like you say everyone has a different story and suppose mine will be different to bigsisters and wishfull (same day) ans TC27 (10 days after) and others being done this month too! well all be letting you know how we got on! anyway keep up your morale, youll get there, suppose it may be after one or two or three fills even, but when you start to lose, remember the others who had success at the beginning will prob start to slow down...i have read that it takes 2 years to lose what you are going to, whether you do it quickly or slowly... I know we all want some immediate results, its only natural,but...keep remembering...two years!!..thats how im looking at it anyway!. Gillian x

OH YES!! PPS. does anyone know if there is any problem with acrylic/silk nails during surgery?.. i dont have them but my friend has just finished training and has asked me if she can do mine for free, and i quite fancied it!..anyone had em on over there? thats it for today folks...over and out!:wink_smile: gillian x

i have just started mine today and it was going ok til now, i was clearing kids xmas bags away when i found about 4 after eights in bottom of one!..guess what..its not going so well now!..I have planned soup with loadsa fresh veggies in for tea for myself..david having steak, kids prob some fish fingers or nuggets..hope i dont crack then..its only 10 days now..OMG!

Glad your doing so well, but poor you finding that out just before christmas..I know how much that hurts. and youll be on an emotional rollercoaster right now. stay focused on your weight and on yourself, and getting your confidence back, im sure your weightloss will help you with that..look after yourself, hope everything works out the way you want it to, it wont be overnight, but keep it up..all the best wishes, gillian x

Just seen your youtube videos miss flump!!..its the first time i have ever looked on youtube!...they are really good, full of information, and its nice to see what the hospital and hotel looks like instead of just an image in my head..it looks all clean and professional i must say..You look great too and I wish you all the best with your weight loss!..i am being done in 1 week and 6 days..so its reasuring to see and read your posts..thankyou!..while i was on youtube i looked at some other videos of surgery etc, and some other peoples stories..nice to see how well so many people are doing!!...anyway, thanks for making, and letting us see your videos! all the best Gillian x

:cursing: WOT!. nearly a whole page gone and i havent posted yet!..cant let that happen!.. Welcome Mattylew!!..thanks for all your advice..us prebandsters are absorbing every little bit of info like sponges!..and had some great advice the last few days!...I changed my money at M&S like bigsister, and only the day after it had dropped from 99 to 98...it seems like this is happening every day...and aparantly its going down til march, so id get some changed if your going soon!. anyone who has already been banded, can you tell me if you have to remove your rings? cos if so i had better get to the firestation for em cutting off! cos i have put more weight on and dunno if they will come off!. hopefully i will get them made smaller for next year!..I reckon Dr Chris is off for couple of weeks as i wanted to be banded this week but no surgery, and was originally booked in for next week, but it was cancelled til week after...unless anyone else is getting done?..he prob deserves a break, he sounds like a busy man!..hope hes all refreshed and ready for us then on 16th!:confused: Gillian x

mum did suggest it to me!..she kept me some magazine article to show me..cos i was always on about my weight and diets not working etc and she was watching me get bigger and bigger..mind you, it will save her money me having it done wont it!..I am that fridge raider! I have changed my cash to euros today..and it made a very surprisingly small envelope!..i bet i count it over and over again to make sure!....anyway going up to bigsisters in a bit....so happy new year everyone...its the year of being slimmer for us all! x

Hi TC!..yes arent they doing well!..that will be us soon!..im sure you will find someone on the same day as you..if not on the forum, there is bound to be someone else in your room. i bet some unlucky pre banders havent even joined this forum!!..they dont know what theyre missing do they!. when you get TLs memoirs, you will see its a bit more than we probably imagined,but i am gratefull to her being honest. Hi TL!...just read it!..its really good, you have described everything in detail and very honestly...which is what we want really..Its no picnic or no walk in the park youve been on!..Im not put off, but im so glad you have told us even the not so pleasant details, as we wont feel that its abnormal if these things happen to us..its funny how people can react differently to the same surgery, as you and MS did isnt it.. anyway, i bet youre relieved your out the other side now..and i hope you have a great new year...(and a slimmer 41st birthday!) thanks again for sending it me..Gillian x

Hi M. It sounds like theyre band might be filled a bit too much and they should get it slightly unfilled?. A freind of mine who has been banded says that you do have to drink slower and that fizzy drinks such as coca cola are harder to swallow, but she still drinks as much, she just takes her time, and you should try to drink less with a meal also, as it washes the food through the band quicker apparantly, so you dont feel as full. best wishes Gillian

I bet your not on your own in feeling that way, think well all feel that way either initially or weeks down the line..im expecting to feel that way anyway at some point!..(and i bet you are reporting even better weight loss than ever next week!) we are just over 2 weeks to being banded..I hope our ops and recoveries all go as well as yours..(must admit i dont like the sound of the injections though!!)..keep up your good work!! x

Hi Wishfull, cant believe you were making it longer than it is lol!.I think its this time of year..how fast it has come round eh!?. I keep having wierd dreams about it now had one last night,where i lose the cash or miss the plane or cant find the hosp etc!..mind you they are chocolate fuelled dreams!..I am doing well getting rid of all the xmas goodies, and had a baileys smoothie last night in my new "smoothie2go" xmas prezzie!..ice cream,double cream and loadsa baileys!!!..how nice (and calorie full) was that?!..you can chuck a banana in too if your feeling healthy!..I will save all the fruit till next week tho, for our liver shrinking diet! its davids birthday on friday,curry house calls, so my pre op diet will start after that...or maybe monday! I can imagine Dr Chris will tell me my liver was the biggest hes ever seen! I will not be proud! have you changed any euros yet?...I best hurry up, its predicting to go lower and lower until march..great! its less than 99p now..that was the best rate around too at M&S yesterday.. see you very soon now..we wont know who were looking for though!!..wear a pink carnation at airport! x

Aah, dont get discouraged TL!..I can imagine ther will be a lot of fluid retention after having the op?..people lose that at different rates dont they. I remember after abdominal surgery losing 2lbs a day for a week,without dieting..it was all the fluid around the surgery site. Im sure it will start coming off, maybe more when you get on to solids like you say..fluids go down too easy. and when youve had your fill im sure everything will speed up. I am prepared to be on a bit of a downer to start off with, as you find that you have to put more effort in than you thought, but come a few months down the line,Im sure youll get on track,and get used to eating and not eating certain foods..I dont think that there is any fluid put in the band at first is there?. anyway, sorry your feeling disheartened..hope you can give us better reports next week (i bet anything you can!!)..keep up your good work anyway, it sounds as if your doing everything right..and its got to come off. good luck! Hi tropical lagoon!!..cant believe how well your doing!!..it must have gone so well for you and I bet it was a big relief to be back home...even if you didnt get your christmas dinner!..I am just trying out my christmas present..a smoothie maker, in preparation!..have just been experimenting with fruit..lovely and surprisingly filling....but my eyes were averted to the alcoholic recipes im afraid...gin and strawberries, vodka, ice and lemons....and something for bigsister....Baileys and ice cream smoothie!...ooh, the calories!...that will be a special treat!. anyway Im glad your back home ok,and hope your new year gets off to a flying weight loss start!
