Hi TC...same as me, I have never been as big as this in my life, i ate for england when i made the date for my op, and put loadsa weight on on top!..i now have at least 6, maybe 7 stone to lose..my pre op diet has gone rubbish!..i have 4 more days to at least put a bit of effort into it!..dunno if its worth it now!? you are 11 days after us, so not long for you too, lets hope you get some nice friendly english people in your room, so you can give eachother some support. hope your pre op diet goes better than mine...think bigsister and wishfull are struggling too..me and bigsister had curry last night and then chocolate and then i made baileys,double cream and ice cream smoothies!..oops..slimfast for 4 days?! Aah, thanks freckles!..only 4 days to go!!! im busy trying to arrange money, kids, dogs still so i think ill be shaking like a leaf come thurs when we fly...dunno about fri..if i could, id have a stiff drink!!..think ill be bricking it!.well be home next sunday morning, so hopefully i can get on here and let you know how its gone this time next week!..depends how i feel! .hope everything falls nicely into place for your op,even if you have to change the date. dr chris will see you the morning of your op instead of the night before, thats what hes doing with us 3. so dont worry about the time of your flight so much...Gillian x

hi freckles you can fly into brussells international, which is very near ...only 15 mins in taxi i think to hosp,hotel etc..the flights are much more expensive to here though, we got our return flights to charleroi for about £70 per couple..and then going three ways share with taxi i think, so it will still work out a lot cheaper for us..when i looked at the flights to brussels international, it was about £350 per couple. eurostar is a very quick and convieient way to get there too..amazingly fast from st pancras to brussels. gillian x

i dont know whether its a calorie diet or a fat free diet? I think its fat free, well im hoping so cos im just eating boiled sweets!..Ill be lovely and slim, but have no teeth!.no, i think its to do with your liver and fat? so im filling up on cereals etc...does anyone else know if its just fat free/low fat diet? Hi TC!..Ihave been pre op dieting all week now, lost nearly two pounds then put one back on again...my stomach knows its going to be punished after all these years of accepting too much so is getting worried!. it must be size of a football at the mo!..it will be size of an egg or summat next week. yes, wish you were going on the same day as us too, the rooms take 3 but i would like to be in another room to wishfull and bigsister, cos theyll tease me...have you seen em picking on me already!, i am so upset!..LOL..its a good job i have broad shoulders isnt it!...(they will hopefully be slim shoulders next year!).. no but seriously it would be nice for you to be going with someone who you know from the forum wouldnt it, I know it makes me feel better even though i was prepared to go completely alone if i had to. If there is 4 to 5 ops a day then there has got to be someone in with you, some poor person who hasnt found this forum yet, but we will all be thinking of you on your day and hoping your doing well, and looking forward to you reporting on here as soon as you can when your back!..ill be on my way in a week..cant believe it! getting nervous like you too! sure your euros will come in time..i have still gotta get some more too. yes i went to makro and bought a catering pack of wispas yesterday for my suitcase and another for the plane journey!..oh, ye of little faith!..your as bad as bigsister! lol!. well just for that, i hope im first op in! my pre op diet is still going not too bad...but seem to have put a pound on!. never mind, that pushes me further up to the top of the op list!..this has turned competative now hasnt it!.. gillian x

Aah mmm, Im nervous too!..but dont tell anyone will you!.I just want to get it all over and done with now..were going a week tomorrow, and it doesnt seem real!..Ihave a hundred and one thoughts going through my head and having wierd dreams about it happening too..Ill prob think im dreaming when i wake up next friday too...except,i think it might hurt a bit!.anyway, ill cope with it, and hopefully can tell you its nothing to worry about,and dont know why i was nervous!...your not getting second thoughts are you?..we'll be fine! x

you might get one that quick, quite poss, as i was first offered one with only 6 weeks to go, and i know others have too. i had to wait for mine another 2 months though to save up the money. think you will get one after your hol, mind you remember the pre op diet!..good luck anyway, hope it all goes better for you with this band, Gillian x

Hi Freckles! welcome, your not an old trout!..your experienced!..and sorry your old band got a hole, have you still got it in,or did they take it out? thats bad luck..hope you find your new one is even better!..you did so well before too,and you will do again. at least it hasnt put you off, and it just shows how they do work.. hope you get the date you want and that it all goes well for you...Doctor Chris does these bands all day, i read that he was the second busiest band surgeon in the world, and one of the most experienced..Im happy to be being banded by him..Gillian x

Hi Jojo I haven't weighed for a day or two as the last time I weighed I had gained 2lbs. I am pre-menstrual so have put it down to that, but all my cravings have appeared like an old friend and yes I want to demolish everything in sight.... I did actually go back to Curves for the first time this evening and explained to the instructor that I had to take it really easy. As the pressure was off, I found I quite enjoyed the experience - first time in ages. I haven't been since I started the pre-op diet in Dec, and I have a cough and sore throat so had a few reasons to take it easy. It says in the literature that you are ok to go walking and cycling 2 weeks after surgery so I guessed a gentle 30 minute workout (avoiding the sit-up machine) in Curves would be fine. As for Bristol on 22, yes I booked direct with Frederik whilst in Brussels and am due for the 2.45 slot. I actually don't finish work til 1.15 that day and its a good hour and 15 mins away if traffic is good so I'm not sure you'll still be about. It would be nice to put a few faces to names though. Dr Chris told me in Belgium that the appetite only starts to decrease after about the 3rd fill, so I am not expecting miracles til then. Maybe you will start to feel it after this one Jojo. I'm gonna be seeing my students for the first time tomorrow and know they will have expected me to have shrunk before their very eyes. It's time for some tough talking to them I guess - to ease the pressure on me, lol. I actually bought a magazine over Christmas with Fern Britton in and it shows pics of her over 2 years losing the weight. I'm thinking of taking that article in with me. Pity she kept on saying she was a size 18 all those years ago eh. I sort of knew I wouldn't be one of the lucky ones who had the weight just falling off them - it never has with any other diet/exercise regime I've followed. At least I've made a start back on the ol' excercise. They do recommend 2 x 30 mins a day :tongue2: As for bad vibes, well it is nice to be faced with all the facts, not just the positive ones as you say Gillian, as it doesn't make you feel like a failure when you don't follow the norm. I'm not gonna weigh again til Sunday so I'll let you know how I do then..... TL well, all the best for your sunday weigh in!..yes i want to know the neg as well a s the pos!. Im glad you said that about doctor Chris saying that you dont really feel much restriction til your third fill.. some of the older bandsters have dissappeared but if any are tuning in..could you give us your experience of this, if you have had a third fill please!?.. anyway, keep going, its got to come off eventually..keep thinking..its a 2 year thing..im sure ill be like you too, but im gonna keep that " year thing in my mind! I reckon in another few months it will be falling off you! x

hi tropical, just wanted to know how you are getting on, are you going to bristol on the 22nd, if so my app is 2 o'clock and my friends at 2.15 so we should be able to have a quick chat. i had a fill last month 1st dec so this will be the second. i'm afraid to say that my band has made no difference to my appetite whatsoever, also i feel hardly any restriction i have not been on the forum for a while because i didnt want to give any negative vibes, i'm just hoping next fill will make a difference. Lets hope so JoJo!!..all the best luck, dont worry about negative vibes, we want to know everything, pos or neg!..it will help us to feel normal after, if things arent going to plan..Gillian x
