sorry tamisu about your probs, i have been getting the same kinds of pains as you on and off, but not bad enough to take even pain medication..but now i will mention it..hair not coming out..yet..touch wood!..but yes i have definatly not got those little pimply spots on the top backs of my arms as i did before i went!!..isnt that strange!..glad you mentioned that! i thought the sauna had got rid of them last week! and my skin has not had any breakouts at all..yet!..hope that keeps up! can you just buy those motillum anti nausea tablets at the chemist then?..and yes i have heard about weight loss affecting the gall bladder, and getting more stones, on one of these american obesity surgery programmes that have been on sky tv...this is the reason why they remove the gall bladder before doing gastric bypass, as it is very rapid weight loss. hope everything goes well for you. yes shoes, i felt like that, thinking it sounded dodgy and they would do a runner, but it seems that that is the way surgeons work over there..i looked on an ex pat website and it says that that is normal procedure for any op over there. it really is ok, dont worry, even the woman in my hosp room from belgium who only lived 10 mins from hosp paid like that.dont worry about the hosp or staff either they are A1!..better care than ive had here infact.gillian x -

you have done SO well!! you should be really proud of yourself!..i would be glad to be 14.3 at the mo too!..it must have been hard work for you though, and when people(usually thin) say having a band is cheating or taking the easy way out....they have no idea what they are talking about and should shut their mouths! keep up the good work english rose...you are getting there...and not slowly either!..i am 5 foot or 5 foot 1 depending on whos measurig(!)(dunno why?!) im 14stone13.5lbs..just dropped into the 14s (weh hey!!) and im hoping to get to 10 stone...it just seems miles away!..did you ever feel stuck and despondent? x -

make the most of those "little treats!!" after lunch!..you soon wont be wanting those! youll be full up on half of your lunch before you get there even!..lots of chocolate was my downfall too..still want some, but just get a mini bag of choc buttons and allow yourself one after each meal..let it just melt on your tongue and savour it..it does go down very well and easy, so youll have to be strict with yourself still!..Gillian x -

well done!!..youve done brilliantly!!. hope im reporting weight loss like yours in another 6-7 months!! i lost a stone in the first week then 2lb the week after, then put that 2lb ON the week after and just lost it again this week!!.. a few people have had the same results as this too, so im hoping this is normal!?..not having first fill for another month, that will be about 9 weeks post op, but still bit sore, have some restriction, eating half the amount as before, and not a lot of money!, so going to have to do it gradually!. are you near to your target weight now?! gillian x -

 Hi all you pre banders!.. the paracetamol tablets they give you from hosp that dissolve are disgusting, like kerry said, but they were very good(i did mine in apple juice too but drunk in one and braved it!)..i took calpol 6+ too that was good..and heard theres some sweet ones that melt on your tongue(on TV advert) suppose they will be good too..but experiment..and its only about 3 days youll need em for anyway...you can take the paracetamol AND the neurofen at the same time you know too.. so double painkiller! another tip..get some gentle laxative medecine in too, cos your body will react to new way of eating, and will be up and down for a while if you know what i mean!..one thing or another!.and get some plasters in too, youll need 5 at a time.youll prob change em about 3 times..dont get really expensive ones..as long as they have sticky all the way round (borderless) bigsister got some brilliant and cheap ones (packs of 5 too!) from lloyds chemist...called "op-site" better than the boots ones i paid a fiver for! and they stay on in shower well..and get some bio oil in to massage into your scars, i started from the day i had my blue stitch out at docs day 10..and they are looking better and flatter already.(oh and the dints have gone now TC!) even though they are still a bit sore,as the dissolving stitches dissolve. Hi fatpants, hope your feeling a bit more positive today..i know how your feeling, as do most of us on this site...and its the reason why so many of us keep it from others at work, friends and even family..we get the..Why you having that done?,just diet etc. well havent we all tried all the diets?!..i have tried everything prescription and non prescription and paid a fortune out!..every fad diet going i have done, and like everyone else...lose a bit, then put it back on including more.. most people dont understand if theyve never had a weight issue, and some who are big, are maybe jealous as they cant afford it or dont have the guts to do summat about it, and they are quick to put you down. as for husbands..mine wasnt supportive at first, moneywise or supportive, but i said i would fund it all myself, like i have by hook or by crook, he didnt discuss it,when it was all i had on my mind 24/7..so that is why i came on this forum for the support, as we are all in the same boat..he did come with us to belgium,to help out, and it was a help too. but he still doesnt understand how we feel totally. esp as he can eat as much as he wants and never puts an ounce on, or can go all day without eating too and not realise cos hes been busy!. (i do think that the getting slimmer and more confident and attractive thing was an issue though even though he denied it!) we arent all the same, we have different drives and mine is food..so we do something about it..feel good about doing summat for ourselves, then get put down by people who dont understand. it seems it is a weight off our mind when we do decide to have it done. what on earth would all these people think if we dropped dead tomorrow cos of our weight when they wouldnt support us?..theyd be sorry then!..anyway, i had days like you most def, and i snapped out of them like you will, its not as if were spending this money on a posh cruise or fur coat or summat..were putting our body through that discomfort for our health, both mentally and physicly, its not as if were wasting it!..feel proud that your doing summat for yourself...bugger everyone else! you have done fantastic flirty..keep it up, youll be at your target this summer!..me, bigsister and her daughter Lucy have just come back from the spa, its a lovely old victorian place...feel all clean and lovely now..you dont seem to notice time going by when your in there. very relaxing..its full of all women of all ages, big and small, so dont mind wearing swim suit..if anyone can see you through the steam that is. ..all the best to mmm for her op!, hope weather is ok and you get there ok, sure it will be. good luck to freckles on thursday with her pre op.too. well i havent lost anymore weight, i know im back on solids now but still only having half the amount as before band, so its got to start up again soon hasnt it?!..seems like a lot of people get stuck after the first week or two, after initial big loss while on liquids..so ill not fret, i will go slowly,if thats what my body wants to do!.x -

hi tamisu!..thanks for that info on the papaya enzyme tablets, ill go to holland and barret and see if i can get some from there. ooh, that sounded painfull when you laughed after your tummy tuck...i hope the curtains were shut or the neighbours will be wondering what the heck your husband was doing!!..I am imagining that it is maybe like when i had caesarians??..think its cos of having to have them that my belly is in a mess now(plus the fat of course!), its hanging and partially numb and muscles have just given up!..hmm, sounds lovely! -

Hi TC..I have dints in my belly too!, although they are flattening out now as the stitches are going..think it helped that i dug out a really tight panty girdle to put on!..it is one of those that come right up under the boobs and it looks disgusting and is really tight but it has helped me with the "pulling" pains i got from the stitches, and has helped them to flatten out i think. yes,as big sister says, i have been refering to my belly as looking like a deep buttoned sofa!..i looked like a deep buttoned bubbles de vere!..nice,darling!..gillian x -

hi flirty, yes it has put me off the tummy tuck thing a bit, it is quite a big op too..did you see family fat surgeons on sky?..most of the tummy tucks go great but a womans went wrong yesterday and she had to have 6 blood transfusions and nearly died cos they had cut a main vein that runs through the abdomen i think, they sorted her out in the end and it looked brill, but was scary! and that was a very top experienced surgeon in america too..i might change my mind when ive lost weight, and i might put that out of my mind, cos there are gonna be risks with every op i know. anyway flirty, sorry your disappointed with your fill..how much does your band hold and how much have you got in it now?. gillian x -

yes, like bigsister (who is now alot littler sister...3 stones littler than me i might add!) says with the solids..i did try to have stuff a bit too early..veg goes down great for me, but watch the mash...i have probs with it getting stuck, so add plenty of gravy or sauce..i had a fish in sauce day before yesterday and little peas they went down nice..only had two spoons of mash and that hurt a bit. so does bread and toast!..but its surprising what things do go down well, like the crackers and philadelphia. i had two small pieces of liver yesterday tea time..it was tender lambs liver, and i chewed well, and that was fine too, did it with gravy. carrots were fine too, but again potato got stuck (why do i keep trying it!?) weetabix and ready brek go down well too,and rice pud...a woman i work with who was banded last june has warned me of rice..think she means basamati or savoury rice..but thats like being told not to touch wet paint to me...ill just have a little try!..also sometimes boiled eggs are hard to get down, you have to really mash em up she says..ill report back when ive tried it! -

hi wishfull..i am naughty yes, but i have just found out that crackers and philadelphia light go down nice..so crackers are my new bread now!.we went to lake district (windermere)end of june last year...it p****ed it down from the minute we got there to the minute we left!..think it was beautifull though!..hope its nicer for you!.we spent our time in the cinema, pubs, restaurants, as i only had flip flops, cropped jeans and tee shirts!
