OMG...chips and choc...i will never stop thinking of that!!..but you can still have a little bit of it after..i have my bit of choc on a friday night now..instead of every night and infact all day every day and night!..the band does nothing to stop your head choc and chip hunger unfortunatly!...but saying that..one of the things that is very uncomfortable to eat is...chips, i tried 2 of my husbands from the chippy in week 2 after op..and i was in pain..so im put off now, although it is getting easier now, i really need these fills i have booked, as apart from bread and potato things..i can eat anything now, and quite a bit of it too!..not put any weight back on though which is main thing. but hope it will get moving again in the right direction soon!..youll be so excited and nervous now, only few days!!.and this time next week youll be on here telling us all about your op..hope it all goes fantastic, i was dubious before i went,i must admit. but wouldnt think twice about having it done now,Chris, the hosp and staff are A1!..gillian x

ah thanks Angie!.. i thought that 5 stone was some going!!..2.5 stone is more like it!!..its coming off gradually, and thats good, ill be so pleased when i have lost 2.5 stone!..ill have to take up swimming..going for first fill tomorrow, and second one in 2 weeks, then every month after..hope it wont take more than 6 cos my six months unlimited fill package ends in 6 months!..i hopefully will start moving again next week...yes, i have to be patient!..it could take 2 years to lose it, and as long as i do, ill try not to fret..as long as i dont put any on, and hopefully take few pounds a month off!..its all going in the right direction albeit slowly! x

bigsister...what you dont know is that i asked to be put in different building to you even....i didnt want you dipping into my wispa stash!!.ha!.. but yes it is true,i was sent off to another building through a sort of bridge corridor..i was miles away..i went down at 8am..i was led to believe the same that the patients who had problems or were heavier may be the ones needing extra care, so they were the first ones, and as i did have problems, and i was probably the heaviest...maybe thats why..i was in the post op special care for hours, and sent to 2 different rooms after that. i didnt see bigsister till we were about to go home. it seemed my recovery was the last in the room too, and i had oxygen for the longest..so maybe chris knew this would happen and put me first of the day?

so glad to see yoy back freckles, glad everything went well and your not in much pain..thanks for putting your photo on, it does look like you are having a little tipple?!..was it a calpol shot!? .lets hope that you make a great and quick recovery, and your mum does too..you must be worried though, and i hope all goes well with the next few weeks especially, as youll be sore, and that you and your mum get all the help possible for your good recoveries...good luck!!(oh by the way, the barium we had in hosp for the xray worked great as laxative!!..but after that i used lactolose, for week or so..its mild liquid laxative and helps a lot...its just cos of all the drugs youve had in your system, plus the lack of food suppose!!) x

yes like wishfull says (me wishfull and bigsister went at same time) we really wish we had stayed one extra night like you are doing..we had to get up about 3 am that morning to go to airport, about 12 hours after leaving hospital (and it was charleroi aiport an hour extra travel) so it was not ideal, and just that one day makes one hell of a difference, dont know about Bruges im afraid!..think there are lots of art galleries to see though?!..it will be nice break before your surgery, as you wont feel like doing anything after, if someone would have told me there was a fifty pound note at the side of my bed i wouldnt have been bothered to move!. x

second and subsequent fills in sheffield just 10 mins away from home so thats good, but having extra one this tues in leeds thats about 40 mins journey, but surgery is bang opposite train station..were (me and bigsister) gonna have a look around leeds after too, supposed to be ok for shopping there, will only have an hour suppose, otherwise get there couple of hours early and shop before.and have a coffee, if were allowed, after fill?! its at 1.30pm i think our appointment. x

hi wishfull, i did post you a reply yesterday, but it dissappeared when i hit send!..cant even remember exactly what i put now, but it was about the jury service...can you get out of it at all? hopefully it wont be a long case if not, i know a woman from work did it last year and it took 2 weeks and it was big case of a doctor who sexually abused young female patients..she obviously didnt or couldnt tell us what the case was but it was in local papers on front page that night.. i think your prob talking a week at most..unless its a murder or summat, and they are pleading not guilty. i wish id get called up! was it spire that you looked into for fills and it was amazingly high price?! sammy was looking into them too. i think they try to push price up with xray by sounds of it,when port is easily found without?. hope your doing well anyway, can you feel the restriction from your first fill? we will catch up with you soon as were having second fill same day as you..then will have em every month, i dont wanna do it too quick with fortnightly fills each time..its took me enough time to get used to this restriction i have got from empty band!, but def ready for it now..i even had beans on toast this morning, couldnt even do toast last week...bread still a no no though. it will do me good to do the liquids for a few days again, as i have come to a standstill....and its really frustrating!! x

good on you!..into your pre op now,so your really counting down quickly now!..youll be banded before you know it and youll be so glad you had a last supper, but do make sure you have your last last supper at the hotel night before op!..try the steak cos youll never get to eat it again, its painfull after your banded.. i did terrible on my pre op diet i might add, infact i prob only did about a day..my liver was fine though, so dont beat yourself up over any incidents with bit of choc etc!..we know we cant stick to diets, thats why were here!..this forces you to..i think ive called the band..."enforced willpower" before?! i think wishfull tried to book with spire, and it was astronomical price! they shouldnt need to give you xray to find port as its very easily found by an experienced fill nurse and takes minutes.. think its their way of pushing price up..so if it suits you to get to see chris..your best sticking to him, you can always change after, and apparantly (ill tell you this tues!) there is no discomfort after fill and you can drive and do everything.wishfull drove miles straight after hers other week and was fine. the first fill takes longer i think as they put the most in and then pull it back into syringe to test for leaks before pushing it back through (this is what boboboldy told me) and then his second fill took less than one minute. anyway good luck with your pre op diet and try to get bit of exercise in too, just walking, as others found this beneficial to feeling better quicker after op..it makes sense, gillian x

hi Sammy, have you looked at the aftercare packages from WLS?..they are 6 months 12 months or 2 years..unlimited fills and unfills and all advice etc..they are held all over country, so you might have one nearer to you?..me and bigsister have found one only 10 mins drive away from us at bupa hosp, so are really pleased we dont have to travel..its worth a vist to their website for you, you never know (dont know where you live tho, so cant say if there will be one close)..wendy the fill nurse is familiar with doctor chris bands and noticed a few on forum do use WLS

wishfull, glad you have tested the pancake for me, ill be having one little one tonight!, hope its slips through ok!..dont worry about your meal, just eat a bit of what you know is ok and goes down well off each plate, hopefully youll have plenty of time in between courses for it to go down, push some onto daves plate and i bet no one even notices..i know your not to drink for 15 mins after meals, but make sure you have some still drink available if you feel owt getting stuck to help it down. summat got stuck when i went for chinese, and i ended up grabbing davids lager (much to his disgust!) and although it helped it down, i then got trapped wind hurting me cos of the fizz!..enjoy your circus tonight, hope dave has a great birthday x

Hi boboboldy..its torture isnt it going to mac donalds!!.and we still have to treat our kids when its birthdays too!..like you i went for a chinese at the weekend it was the buffet food so just tried a bit of everything to test how it went down..im going for my first fill with wendy at WLS next tuesday..Im scared stiff, not cos of any pain but cos of the thought of the needle..i can imagine myself coming out with no fill cos im scared of flinching or that she wont get the needle in cos im shaking or too tensed up..i wonder if anyone else is/was like this??. i know its not gonna be that bad cos of the way people cant wait for their next fills..but im full of dread!..does she do everyone the same? are you laid down, stood up or what?..im sure shes lovely but i have visions about her having blood dripping fangs and a blood splattered white coat on!!..im sure im worrying for nowt and will tell you.."Oh it was nothing at all!" next tues!..im going for my fills (unlimited 6 month plan) in sheffield 10 mins drive away, but you can attend other venues so im going to the leeds one on tues cos really need that fill and then 2 weeks later going again to the sheffield one and then just once a month after that.. i hope you have a good fill anyway and hope you get the restriction you need to start your weight loss off again..good luck! gillian x
