think youll get a max of 2 or 3 mls on your first fill..and yes your husband is right (i dont like saying men are right!) your body does go into a sort of starvation mode after you have lost quite a lot in one go,and dramaticly cut your food intake down, and it tries to hang onto its fat stores, you get tired too cos its not giving you energy..i think this has happened with most of us here after the first week or two, and then you seem to have a week or two where its at standstill, but dont give up, it will start again, albeit slower..then hopefully you will lose a pound or two a week, til you have your first fill, then after a few fills, the average loss is about 2lb a week, which doesnt sound much but its over a stone every two months, or 7.5 stone in a year! good luck anyway, your doing just as you should, sounds normal, (even tho its frustrating not to drop it all overnight!..that would be great, but the magic bands not invented yet unfortunatly, or id have had one fitted.LOL!) its still hard work though isnt it! x -

you shoulda just let rip in the car, and blamed the baby!..and i had to make sure my dogs were with me at all times in the first week or so post op!..well it sounds daft but its good its coming out that way, or youd have that bad trapped wind pain in your chest and shoulder..good luck anyway....and dont forget to get all the help and rest you can, i know how hard it can be with a baby..x -

you sound like a good candidate for the band..if you dont find it too hard sticking to diet, and lose the weight, then with your fills, it will stop you from putting it back on..i think youll do well..good luck! x -

hi shoes and wishfull..yes you both have the HAGE band which is the small 10ml heliogast evolution band..so the fill guidlines are 7-9ml max. I was told that everyone is different but restriction should be just right at about 5.5ml.. so wishfull if you have 5ml in now, then hopefully another 0.5ml will do you? think they start doing daft fills soon like 0.25ml but apparantly even they can make all the difference after 5.5ml is reached. BUT, we will see!, can see mine having to go up to 7!..i know some others have..im going for 3rd fill in 2 weeks, shes gonna put up to 1ml in depending on how ive done etc..then going for 4th one 2 weeks later, hopefully that will be it..she says she tries to get you restriction in 3 fills..dunno if that will do me though! well, well see after ive done with two more days of liquids, dont know yet if i have any restriction you see. x -

hey wishfull!...you must have got good restriction then, cos i could eat a scabby donkey, then go back for his dad! let alone a cat (might have that for a snack at supper!)and i felt same as you after fill, like i could eat more..hope i get there soon..we have got to! -

wishfull and flirtylass...hope your both doing great?! this might help you with your band size...on your band "instruction booklet" (the white one with heliogast on it) there is a sticker with a barcode on it...if it says HAGA..you have the large heliogast advance band in that is a 15ml band which takes a fill of 12-14ml i believe.. or if it says HAGE it is a heliogast evolution band which is a 10ml band which takes 7-9ml max. me and bigsister have the HAGE one, i was told by my fill nurse they are excellent bands, so pleased about that.. and although my fill nurse is independent, she has yet to meet chris she says, but seems to be very happy with chris's surgery, which is nice to know..as we are also! PS, i was playing with a heliogast evolution band in wendys room today, its smaller than i thought! x -

sammy, sorry i havent welcomed you back yet, not been on forum for a few days..glad everything went well and i have dropped all my baby boys from heights like that(not on purpose..honestly!) you feel so bad, but they are all ok! they certainly forget it before you do! like you i thought the drain removal was not nice, its not so much the pain but the wierd sort of sensation that goes with it..I screamed! the others say theres was fine, so maybe ours were in tight? well, after todays fill im joining you back on liquids and soups for few days!..hopefully it will kickstart me again!.x -

Hi mmm!..not been on for few days, had technical probs!..your right about the blue stitch holding drain in, and i think if its tight they may have to just snip it out to get drain out, so maybe thats why some didnt have them to be removed..it was nothing anyway..didnt feel a thing shoes. also, shoes, look at my turkey dinosaur incident prob around 23rd jan?!..i thought i was dying!.mmm when i went for my first fill she only put me 2ml in as i had a bit of restriction and couldnt tolerate bread,rice,potatoes..but after my post fill liquid diet...i could eat anything everything and lots of it!..it shoed that i had now totally healed from the op, so it must show that you are a good healer!..i had another fill few hours ago, and she put me another 2ml in..but obviously i wont know if or how much restriction i will have till im back on solids (liquid 3 days and mushy 3 days) i did manage to lose 4lb they said tho, but i think there scales were weighing light at this venue cos i reckon i have only lost 2lb since i went 2 weeks ago. anyway, im having another fill 2 weeks today, and she says what she puts me in then should take me to about the right restriction i will need .then just go once a month for weighing, advice and fine tuning fills. so lets hope! x -
