hi wishfull.i think it has eased slightly, tried some beans on toast this morning, had piece of toast size of a 5p and it hurt..then had about 2 forkfulls of beans and had to stop as it wouldnt go down..but as the day wore on i could get a little more down..david went to chip shop, obviously i couldnt have that, but i had small tub of chinese curry sauce that went down slow but ok, then had bit of chocolate, that always goes down!..so not had much today. family bringing usual saturday night curry over in a bit, think ill only manage the sauce though. made buns and made pudding for me and maybe bigsister...egg custard..dunno if ill even get that down though..bigsister making me some ground rice pudding and bringing it over, sure that will be ok!..i will report back tomorrow!..but at this rate i wont be having next fill, and i have got less in than what people usually have in on there third fill too..its maybe the way i eat though..i dunno? x -

thanks for that advice carrie, im scared stiff of getting an overfill..it seemed scary enough for you and you even have your mum on hand to unfill you which is really lucky for you!..but i wouldnt know what to do?!..what would our hospitals say if we went to A&E with that problem?..would they know how to un fill it properly as its a special needle?...oooh hope i dont get to ever find out! im going to go so steady!..you have 5.5 in at mo, does that feel right for you?..does it change?..will you be able to take some more fill at a different time do you think?..im getting nervous cos i have 5.25 at mo, and going in another 12 days for maybe another fill!..i know i only had fill two days ago but i have a lot of restriction now and i dont feel like i want anymore..do you think it will ease off after i have finished liquids tomorrow, and it is just initial tightness..whats your experience of this?..sorry for all questions! x -

thanks for that freckles..hope so too, but like i say, it may just be initial tightness, and may be different story next week?! and it did seem to be tighter this morning just like what you said used to happen to you..wendy said the same, that if your stressed it can feel tighter too. Aah, i hope your mum has been cheered up by the cake and balloons etc you got her today, it is hard trying to find gifts to take to folks in hospital. hope her cough gets sorted out soon too, and she starts to feel better, it would be nice if she could get moved nearer to you too, good luck x -

i do feel at the mo like i have got good restriction, but it may change i suppose as the week wears on and i wont know until im back onto solids properly. bigsister who has done exactly the same as me at the same times isnt feeling restriction yet, so maybe its just me?..im sure that because im a very quick eater, ill feel it more anyway..we'll see! i might be saying all the restriction has gone by next week! x -

yes flirty, thats what id be really scared of...an overfill!. i know its gets a bit dodgy at some point and id be scared i couldnt see the fill nurse..i even checked yesterday where she was today...just incase.. and she was in Dublin today..and i could see me flying out there to get an un-fill!..i dont think i need it but i am feeling very nervous at the mo that im near to my ideal, and bit scared of the next one in 2 weeks,if i dare have it that is!. it just shows how different we all are doesnt it?! what suits one of us is too much or too little for the other one. x -

when you get to about 5.5 tho, even 0.25 can make all the difference apparantly, so hes prob just following the guidelines, just get as much as he can safely put in, it might make all the difference..think ill only get about that put in in 2 weeks..im hoping that will be me done...for a while anyway, till i get used to it suppose! lets hope we get there next month, and start shifting again! im sure we will x -

hi kerry, bigsister was the same as me, and has the same amount in too. im much more getting used to that needle now! I made a berry smoothie this morning and had difficulty getting it down..hope it loosens off a bit though over next few days..mind you,on the other hand suppose this is what i need for a while, it might help weight come off this week at least, but wouldnt like it to feel like this for ever..im sure it will, as its just the trauma of being tightened for the first few days isnt it, then your stomach gets used to it and re-moulds itself around it (well thats what i read anyway!) hope your doing well and you have some restriction...how did your crumble go down?..your making my mouth water, but today im thinking OMG, ill never eat anything solid again!..first time im feeling nervous about coming off (and actually sticking to) the liquids..there will be no turkey dinosaur accidents this time!. hope your doing well anyway, you have prob changed your fat into muscle too, thats why your clothes are fitting looser..its the same with me too..couldnt believe id not lost owt cos i felt lighter and fitter!!..lets hope our new fills will get us moving again..i am feeling much more positive after this one i must say.when is your next one? i bet youll be up to about 6ml then?.the most they can put in ours is 7 to 9ml..so youll be not far off or maybe even be at your sweet spot then? x -

yes we got our fills yesterday in leeds..i had 1.25 put in taking me to 5.25..she said she could feel the pressure now and that i would def feel this time (she says its like when your pumping a bike tyre up from flat..you pump away feeling no pressure, then when its getting near you can feel the pressure as the needle is pushing the saline in) were going to sheffield in 2 weeks for maybe another dependidng on how we go with this one..but last night and this morning i could really feel some proper restriction, even with the smoothie i had for breakfast..maybe it was a bit thick altho i did liquidise it. i think im definatly going to be more cautious when i go to even mushy foods this time. she has these all singing dancing scales..and they do a print out personal to me, and even though they said i hadnt lost any weight, my fat mass was down by 2.5lb..so think that maybe means that the muscle mass has gone up?!..i dunno but want her gadgety scales!. and yes sammy i asked her if it was her who did the fills in london and yes it is..she does all of the clinics herself, shes a very busy lady! the clinics in london are every saturday and every sunday, and you can go to any of the clinics anywhere 2 weeks apart. the london one is on harley street. the package is worth it but i think the single fill is £80.check on their website. I am feeling hopefull that this fill will help me to start moving now, touch wood! she usually follows a rule of 3,2,1mls for fills she says for the first 3 appointments, then its fine tuning after that. x -

well i hope they work well for you and you are feeling less sore soon. they seem to be more for that problem, so will prob work better than the diclofenac, i hope. mines only just got better after nearly 11 weeks! no one else seemed to have same prob as me either, just glad its ok now. i have heard of people having there big old port removed and replaced with the newer "low profile" ports as they could see and feel them too much after losing quite a bit of weight..so thats prob what you got?!.x -

Thankyou Sammy. not sure if its wendy who does the london one..i will ask her today though..yes wendy is lovely, and has a lot of time for you to advise and listen to any problems etc.. i paid for the package when the offer was on.so it was very reasonable.i still would have paid the full price tho, as its only ten mins drive away, and worth it..lets hope they have another offer on for you soon! they do do single fills which i think are around £80-£85 though..if you look on there website youll find out all the details..ill report back later after fill! -

Thanks Freckles..just watched both parts of that video..its really good..i know its a different op, but very interesting..isnt that great that her surgery was recognised as preventative surgery by the local NHS authority and she got that care..you wouldnt get that everywhere. its got to be true though it can save money on all the future operations, medicines, medical care, and possibly disability and support benefits she would have had...and its gonna change her life too. shes only 40, and has a longer healthier life to look forward to now. My doctor reckons that the NHS will see obesity surgery as the way forward as a preventative surgery in another 5 years or so, and more people will get it..i couldnt wait that long tho! Is Michael van der Bossche from Belgium?..he sounds like chris did. hope your going on well..sorry your port area is tender, mine was very much so, and has only just almost stopped being sore..im not surprised yours is more tender as you have had one removed and another fitted havent you?..or did they just replace the band and tubing?..hope it starts to feel better soon.. "Diclofenac" seemed to help me, it took a week or so to kick in tho, i just had one in the morning when it was at its worst, and effects lasted all day. its on prescription but my husband had a packet left from an op he had on his back last year, so, i know you shouldnt but i tried it! x -

im off for my third fill in leeds this afternoon (with bigsister)..wendy has wrote on my notes that im a "needle phobic"!. i am getting better though!.. she offered to get the very nice bloke who weighed me etc in the next room in to hold my hand, she said he was very good at it...but i just gritted my teeth and got on with it!..i was on and off the table in one minute and couldnt feel anything hardly...so why do i turn to a jibbering wreck at just the thought?! i have just had an enormous bowl of museli, and it flew down.i seem fine in the morning and afternoon, but teatime meals seem to get uncomfortable..are others like this?..i think its maybe cos i just sit there and do nowt..and think a bit of walking around may help it?..hope this fill is a good one, and then having one more fill in two weeks in sheffield nearby..then i hope i "will be in a good place" as wendy calls it.I have paid for 6 months unlimited package though so will be going back for the weigh in every month in sheffield no matter what. thing is after your fill you have to wait a good week before you know your proper restriction dont you..so can only report this next week..ill let you know!. i am quite hopefull with this fill though, i know everyone is different, but being a big fast eater (or trougher!), i will feel the restriction quicker i think..although if im forced to slow down with the restriction (which will be a good thing) i may get used to that and need another prob? well see! x -
