  1. Hi Denise... Glad you are getting an xray. Are you still having your symptoms? If so, are they getting better, worse, same? It's worth knowing if something is going on. Let us know how you make out this week.

I go back this Friday for another flouro to see if the part of my stomach that rose above my band went back down. I'll let you know how things work out here too. I will say.. it's been wonderful having no acid reflux, no coughing, no issues for these past 3 weeks... Even if I did feel like eating anything that didn't move! Thank GOD for exercise!

  2. I started Jazzercise last night and loved it!!!

I went to a 1/2 hour of Body Sculping and 1 hour of Jazzercise.

It was so much fun!! I was able to keep up with everybody, even though I was just learning the routines.

I plan to go three times a week.

I felt great afterwards and today not too much muscule pain, not enough to keep me from going tonight.

My port hurt a little from the ab exercise but overall it was a great experience.

    Hi there!

Just wanted to let you know I also go to jazZercise and love it! it really is tons of fun and you never get sick of it. I've been going for over 3 years now... Keep on jazzin! : )

  3. thanks that gives me a good idea... i haven't had acid reflux since getting banded which i guess is really good seeming as though it used to wake me up from my sleep. i cheated on my post op diet. not completely i just bent the rules and i was a lil paranoid about every little feeling and pain... so i get my first fill tomorrow so we will see what happens.

Sounds like you are doing well....and I bet you are excited to be getting a fill tomorrow! All the best.. the band really is a great tool for losing weight.

  4. ps: I exercise 5 times a week.. (jazzercise cardio and walk) and my dr. assured me that exercising had nothing to do with a slip. Sometimes it happens if the band is initially to tight to being with, if you are tight for tooo long, etc etc etc but said that exercise doesnt factor into it. Funny, that is the first question that came out of my mouth while I was in hospital on Friday... If any of this had to do with exercise.

  5. Hi Watcher,

I had a flouroscopy on Friday and it was discovered my band had slipped. The signs something was wrong with me was two weeks ago I had really bad acid reflux, persistent coughing and waking up in the middle of the night gagging and vomiting in sleep. Was I too tight? I was able to eat 3 meals a day, drink my fluids and exercise with no problem. When I called dr's office two weeks ago and told them I could still eat solids and drink the drs asst told me it didnt sound like I was to tight but I did not feel right and I couldnt get rid of the coughing and acid reflux. That is when I had the flouroscopy. I go back in 3 weeks for another flouroscopy to see if the part of my stomach that rose above my band goes back underneath. If not, I assume I will be getting a revision or band removal. However, I'm hoping to be able to keep my band! I had my lapband surgery in March, 2006, have lost around 85 lbs and never had any problems until this past spring when it seemed I was getting filled and then unfilled just trying to find sweet spot. Don't know if this answers your question, but just wanted to let you know that for me, I didn't feel too tight and didn't have trouble getting food down, it was the acid reflux and coughing that triggered my concern. I should note that my dr said that a slippage only occurs in around 2% of people with band? How honored I feel to be among the chosen few! lol

  6. Hi

I have just found out on Friday I have a slipped band, my band has been totally unfilled, so my question is should I be on liquids or what kinds of foods should I be eating, my doc said I could go on a liquid diet but did not seem fussed weather I did or not, so I wanted to know what other people have done when they had a slipped band.

    thanks

    Magii

Hi Magii.... I am in same situation as you. I just found out this Friday (10/10/08) that my band had slipped. My Dr didnt tell me to go on liquids, etc. he just told me to try not to gain weight since I got a total unfill. I have been eating the same as I was when I had a fill HOWEVER I am noticeably hungry and really have to watch myself. I have to go back in 3 weeks for another flouroscopy and see if part of my stomach went under the band again. Do you have to go back in one or two weeks? Did your Dr tell you what is next? I'm assuming that if there is no change in my slip I will have to have a revision. Hope you are doing well and wonder if you heard from anyone else who has had a slipped band and if they went on liquids or continued on solids.

  7. Hey there Robin! Won't be long before you are banded. Are you getting excited? I'm a month out now and am so happy I had this done. I've lost 25 lbs since surgery and a total of 36 lbs including pre-op diet! I feel really good these days. : ) Will you be in Mexico a long time? Do you have to lose any weight pre-op before they'll band you? Hope to keep in touch. Angie

  8. Just wanted to say hello and to introduce myself to lapbandtalk! I'm 16 days post-op and feeling good! I'm still on a semi-liquid diet and will be for another week and a half..although it's not that bad.. I'm actually getting use to my Protein Drinks, sf pudding/jello and soup!

Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season!
