  1. Thank you for sharing your struggles !!! I'm guilty of failing my band too. I've lost 30lbs but nothing crazy. I always come on here, so I don't feel alone in this never ending struggle being the chubby girl. Ohhh and did I mention I had the surgery back in 2008 :( Recently, I thought the band slipped and had all the Fluid removed. Turns out I have kidney stones near my port site.

One day at time right ?

  2. Julie I think you are right ... The revision talk is all I see ... I lost 40 lbs and creeped 20 back since 2008. I'm currently getting mild gerd symptoms .. But it's because I am eating around the band and not excising like I should be. I wonder if the band has slipped. But I can't go through another surgery.

  3. Hang in there ... you can do !!! Drink some Crystal Light ... you might actually be thirsty ... sounds weird ... but sometimes we confuse that with hunger :/ Also... when you get the head hunger ... start doing something to get your mind off of it... it usually takes about 20 mins to not think about it anymore (the feeling will pass).

  4. Hi Ellen..

  5. Hi Ellen...Sorry for disappearing ..ive have dental issues lately. Just wanted to let you know I'm gunna try and make it to the support group at Facey in Mission Hills tomorrow night. Its the Facey on Sepulveda south of Rinadi (spelt wrong I think).I've done really well since we last talked...but vomited my Water after a 30 min cardio workout..whats up with that ? lolHope to hear from ya soon :)~Dish~

  6. Hey Ellen...

The support class is mixed with Bypass and Lapband peeps. Of course most are bypass. I'm not sure what ur experience has been with Dr Quilici by he tends to steer people to bypass rather than lapband. He says there is a higher rate of failure with the band. I still feel the band was the right choice for me. :w00t:

I was wondering...how long does the soreness stay??? It hurts everytime I get up or try to stand up straight... The adominal binder is my new best friend :w00t:

  7. Hey Ellen

U are an angel....u have been so good to me through all the up and downs of this LAP experience :) Its been a god sent to come on here and relate to someone who knows how I'm feeling or what I'm going through :)

I can't wait till next month when my support group starts again. I remember a few ladies in the class who experienced something similar to what I was feeling before and after surgery. You should come to the class sometime. Its the second and fourth thursday of the month in Mission Hills.

I can not say thank you enough for all your kind words and encouragement these last few days :w00t:

  8. Hi Ellen

I'm finally home after 3 days in the hospital. They got my nausea uncontol by cutting my pain meds in half. I started my liquid meds and broth today...so they gave me the boot :( I got an abdominal binder which helps a lot since I may have aggravated my tummy with throw up. But I hafta be honest...I had a mental breakdown yesterday morning..thinking what the hell have I done to myself. My nurse reasurred me everthing would be okay...and this would pass. Well..god bless her..cuz I feel much better today ..and just sore. While I was in the hospital...I befriended a gal (she has bypass)...and she had a mental breakdown the night before...I guess its all par for the course....

Thanks for caring and letting me vent.... :wink2:

  9. Hola pumpkin Peeps....

I'm finally home after 3 days in the hospital....So much for the overnight stay. They gave me an adominal binder while I was there...and I love it...otherwise I feel like I'm gunna bust a gut lol. The pain has subsided ..and just have soreness around the port site. I get to take a shower ..cant wait !!!

Thanks for all ur support while I was in the hospital !!!

  10. Ellen... thanks for the encouragement....I so needed that ;) I completely fell apart on the table...wondering if this was the right thing to do. I'm glad I did...cuz this is life changing :) I was hoping to go home today...but the nausea is bad...and can't keep much down. So playing it by ear....

For the person looking for a cash fill...a friend of a friend sees a doctor in thousand oaks...he charges 200 a fill...

  11. Hi  I've been reading threads on this site since Decemeber 2007 and made the decision to get banded. I started my 6 months of Nutrition classes..and finished them August 24th..and got approved for surgery Oct 9th!!! Okay okay...Im rambling.....Im having surgery Oct 24th (Thursday) and freaking out... I'm excited because I believe I'm finally going to become the butterfly I know I am...but scared of complications (slippage). I've been on the liquid diet since the 10th and its killing me !!!

*** you guys have shared sooo much and I want to say THANK YOU !!! *** Its such a personal struggle to make the decision to have surgery...and having people share their personal struggles makes you feel you're not alone

Please keep me in ur prayers!!

    ***you guys are my heros***
