Glad to hear all went well! It seems like your surgery date came up so fast :-) Did they tell you to take any gasX? I got some for my upcoming date on Aug 17th and they are in strips that dissolve on your tongue, which is perfect for us sleevers.
Take good care of yourself and keep us posted.

What a great attitude you have! Makes me glad I've decided to go through with this and that I'm not alone. Great quote by ALBERT CAMUS, I love it.
Keep us posted.

Hi There
How are you doing? Have you been able to drink any more Water, or lose any weight? I go into see Dr. Joya for VSG on the 17th. I have been on liquid preop diet for 10 days and only lost 8lbs. so I feel for you. I hope to lose even more. Maybe it's your thyroid too, have you had it checked? Good Luck!

I haven't done any pre-op nutrition, or psych support either. What I did do, was get on this FORUM and it's been a great help. Welcome and hope you use it to ease any anxieties you may have. Keep up the good work:thumbup:

You can order those Protein drinks from Lindbergh Nutrition too.
They have between 32 & 35 grams of Protein and between 2&4 carbs.
They come in chocolate, Vanilla, banana, Cookies and Cream.
They sell a good chocolate bar from OH YEAH there too, that has high protein and little carbs. Unbelievable, better than a Snickers. :biggrin2:

I like that idea...leave it in a box! You are going to your HAPPY PLACE NOW...
lol :-) I'm so excited for you!

Thanks for putting that into perspective! It's so true! lol :-)))

I noticed you live in Los Angeles, have you tried the Trader Joes greek yogurt? Or the Trader Joes chocolate and vanilla Protein Shakes/ they are 160 calories, 35 grams of Protein and only 2 carbs!
Just wanted to throw out this product I found at Whole Foods:A Better whey of Life Yogurt
It has:
15g of Protein
3g of Fiber
Nonfat
It has 14g of sugar, which isn't great, but much better than traditional yogurts. It does not taste sweet, but rather has a bit of a sour thing going on. My fave (by far) is the Acai Mixed berry, but the mango peach is good too. I have a hard time getting in all my protein, so this has helped. They are a bit pricey at about $1.60 each, but I think they are worth it and are perfect for a dessert or a mid-afternoon snack. I make sure I don't do any other carbs around when I have one.
:scared0:

I'm August 17th too :-) I have a wedding to attend on the 28th, hopefullly I will be healed enough to have fun and of course slimmed down. I had a bit of a freak out today, have any others had some last minute "jitters", like ... I don't know if I should do this?
Keep us posted.

I hear you! I actually lost about 5 lbs since Monday, I don't know if I'm doing the ticker thing correctly! I'm on liquid diet, so my brain is a bit foggy. Figuring out computer stuff isn't exactly what I feel like doing..ha!ha! My cat is eating more than I am :-)
I hope I can lose another 7-8 before the 17th! I'm going down to do Wii fit...

Good Luck! Just breathe a lot to reduce the nervousness. I get mine done the week of the 17th with Dr. Joya in Puerto Vallarta. I told my husband it feels like Christmas, the nervousness and excitement...that or going on a huge rollercoaster...lol :-)
I'll be thinking about you. I'm in So Cal too, it's extra tough being overweight in California for some reason (lots of competition). I'm with you on this journey (hugs)

My VSG is scheduled August 17th with Dr. Joya. I didn't get a whole lot of info as to what I will need while there. Susie helped me with some, thanks Susie. Who took your stitches out? Did you fly back to PV for a followup? Is there anything else I should know? According to his website all that stuff is covered. I'm Confused :-(

The liquids aren't that bad as long as I do my Protein Shake first thing in the morning!
I drink the ones from Trader Joes (chocolate and vanilla), they only have
2 grams of carbs and 35 whopping grams of Protein and 160 calories! My Dr wants me to be on just shakes and yogurt, I wish I could be on some solids.
-
O.K... it must have been another person's blog. Good luck! I'm on day 3 of liquids, 11 days to go!!!!! It's not too bad actually. Three nights is great, I was going to do it in Thailand and they keep you in for 10 nights!

I learned recently that SOY is a goitrogen, so if you have any thyroid problems, be wary of soy. It will impede your thyroid and slow down your metabolism. I noticed a lot of the Protein stuff has SOY as the main ingredient . I'm going to avoid SOY and go with whey and eventually pure protein (chicken, fish, etc). Check your labels, you will be AMAZED at how much stuff has SOY in it these days (using it as a filler because it's cheap) ! GOOD LUCK:thumbup:

Hi Susie,
I am scheduled to have VSG with Dr. Joya August 17th!
I don't hear much about him on this site. I'm concerned when I read your post
about the stitches. How long did you stay in PV? How did they treat you?
Thanks
-
Hi Down in So Cal,
I can't remember if I read your blog b4, but are you getting that new technique with your VSG? How many nights are they keeping you in the hospital?

I like Awesome Augusts!
My Sleeve is August 17th, I actually consulted a numerologist to pick the BEST date for my surgery. Hope everyone is BREATHING ... just to keep the anxiety down! Feels like Christmas :-)))

I have a bmi of 35, but my dr. wants me on yogurt and shakes 2 weeks pre-op! I've been on them 1.5days and lost 3lbs already! I don't know why I can't just do low carb, since the Protein Shakes and yogurt are more carbs. I get sleeved on Aug 17th...
-
Hi There...
I will chat! I'm on Pacific Time and have lots to talk about...
-
Hi There,
I am new to the forum and am having the Sleeve done August 17th from Dr. Joya.
I'm on day 3 of my liquid pre-op diet...getting cranky...lol :-) It sounds like you are happy and doing well with the sleeve yourself. Thanks for the advice on the diet.

Hi,
I'm considering lapband surgery. I've taken the diet pills and it made me whackey and not really lose that much weight. I hope this works! I miss the old skinny me ;-( Have some concerns over the scars: how many they make and if they ever really disappear. Has scarring been an issue for anyone? Thanks

Hi Cheri,
How are you doing? I leave tomorrow for PV, I am a bit anxious, but more excited to just get it over with. I will have a few days at the pool beforehand, to relax at least.
I'll be thinking about you on Monday!
