I get really angry with these doctors because they have no empathy at all. they think were are just fat and have done horrible things to get ourselves at the weight we are at.

My doctor makes me wait 9 weeks before even talking about a fill.
  5. Can anyone help me to understand why 1 person has no problems with eating pasta, pizza and breads (in small amounts) and others have major issues and can't eat them at all? I don't understand the medical side of this difference? If anyone can help I would appreciate it. Thanks!

  7. This is great. Congrats! When were you banded? I keep wondering to myself when am I going to feel "normal" again. I was just banded 12/9 but want it to come soon. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks and keep up the good work.
  8. I was banded on 12/9/08 and I feel the port (or do I)? It burns a little and feels like when I bend over it feels strange. I feel like I am going to tear it when I bend over. Is this normal?
  9. I was also banded on 12/9/08. How are you doing?
  10. HI, Good Luck. It is truly a journey. I was banded on 12/9 and I only had real bad nausea because of the anesthia (reaction ti it). Go slow with everything and you should be fine. As far as motivation my young children motivate me to get this done to be able to go and play with them and not get tired. I am having a bit of nausea with the mashed potatoes so I may try to avoid this. But as long as I push the liquids (lemon crystal light has been my friend) I seem to be ok. Good luck!!!!

Just banded on 12/9. I asked my doctor what would tell me if I need a fill or not in the future and he said I may never need a fill. I have read things on these blogs and that didn't seem right to me. Anybody else told that? Also any tips for a new bander that have helped you? I could use any. Grieving the fact that it might be a few weeks before real food. Thanks!:rolleyes2:

  13. Hi, I have a surgery date of 12/9 and have some questions. I would like it a lot if I could talk to someone about things. If you are willing to be a mentor this would be GREAT! My first question is - is there a lot of pain with this after the surgery? How sick were you (nausea/vomitting). I live 2 1/2 hours away from where I am having surgery and wonder if when I am discharged should I stay in town for 1 more day or would it be safe to go home. Thanks!
  14. I haven't had my surgery yet so I am curious I thought that your stomach wouldn't allow you to eat 6 cookies or you would get really sick? Just wondering to prepare myself for what I have to do. Thanks!

I have my surgery date for 12/30 and then they called and said that they could do it earlier 12/9. Is this the right decision to make? People say gastric is the way to go but I don't want that invasive procedure. I am very very concerned that I will feel the port and when my 2 year olds play with me they will hurt the band in some way and cause issues with band or port. Any one have any great advice - I could sure use it right now!!!:mad2:
