Hi mary,
I'm sorry to hear that you are having so much trouble but I just want you to know that you are not alone. without the recovery that oa offers, you may never get over the food. compulsive overeating is more than just what we put in our mouths, its a disease. but the good news is that we dont have to live our lives like that anymore if we just choose to start recovering. you've come to the right place. just keep going to meetings and you will see. it does get better.:Dancing_sorry::Dancing_wub:

It sounds to me as if you may be going into a manic episode. When I start to lose wieght it is easier for me to have them too. Just make an appointment with your doc and see if he can give you something to ease your irratability. I would also mention to him any other symptoms you have been having and the fact that you are banded and trying to lose weight as several of the mood stabilizer meds can cause weight gain.

My name is Kim and I'm a compulsive overeater and an addict.
I just started my abstinence today and just want to share with y'all that today was the most painful (emotionally) day that I have ever had. I have not yet been banded but will be soon and in the mean time I am trying to stop bingeing as I don't want to wind up being one of those people that you hear about that gets banded and either gains weight, never loses weight, or regains weight. I can no longer afford to be fat, I am currently having health problems because of it. I want to live life without the obssesion with food and diets and diet pills. I don't want to be in control. I just want to be free. I returned to OA recently and I am hoping and even putting my faith in the program of OA.

By the way, y'all's opinion of me wasn't warranted to even remotely asked for. So I'll only say it once, GO SCREW YOURSELVES.

I'm not offended I just think that an adult dating site would be a more suitable place for this kind of topic as there are alot of people old enough to be my grandmother on here and I don't think people should be disrespectful to older people.

Hi y'all,
I got reweighed the other day and surgeon's scale says I'm 226 and 5'2" tall so I am pretty sure that qualifies me for the surgery as far as weight is concerned. They will be filing with Tricare next week after my nutrtion class. I just wanted to ask y'all to keep your fingers crossed for me.
Thanks,

I just feel like that this site is not the place for this particular subject. And anyway it's more like someone threw their slimy, gooey dildo into my cheerios. Besides people shouldn't ask questions (or opinions in this case) they don't want to know the answer to.

Honestly,
This is completely an outside issue and I feel that group sex has absolutely nothing to issues with weight or surgery or even losing weight. I think it would be best if we all kept our sex lives in our own bedrooms, whatever they might include or who they might include. I am no prude but I did not come to LBT to even think about sex or threesomes or anything else. If you wanna have threesomes or whatever then that is a decision that only you can make. Anybody else's opinion really doesn't matter. Just do it if that's what you decide to do and keep it to yourself. Your sex life only affects you and your partner(s) and no one else.

With Tricare Prime, you need a referral just to sit on the toilet or you will have to pay 50% of the total costs. Other than needing a referral for everything though it is great.

I think Merry Minis is the perfect name for us.

From my experience working in the hospital, I personally would not recommend RNY to anyone. I have seen more patients come in and have to stay in the hospital (sometimes for 2 weeks) due to complications from RNY. I have seen everything from Vitamin and mineral deficiencies to small bowel obstructions even 2-3 years after someone has lost weight and in a few cases, emergency surgeries and I don't know what happened to those people after their surgery but I heard that a few of them died. Just some food for thought. Band patients don't usually come back.

Kellster,
I'm so glad that you want to go to meetings it took me a while to feel like i fit in there too even though I knew I belonged there anyway just gotta take things One Day at A Time or as we online OAers say ODAT. Oh yeah 2 more things: first, Keep Coming Back (KCB) and secondly, it works if you work it and your worth it.

Can't we be Santa's Snowbunnies or something I really despise Holiday Hotties that excludes any guys that might be scheduled for surgery in December.

Looks like I may be getting banded in the beginning of December. I don't yet have a date but my dr.'s office is done scheduling for November due to Thanksgiving Holiday. So I was thinking maybe we could start coming up with a name for ourselves. Hopefully something involving Christmas. Here's some I thought of:
Dashing Decembers
Dashing December Reindeer
Dancing Decembers
Pretty Poinsettias
Santas Jolly Elves
Santas Jolly Helpers
Lean Christmas Hams
IDK those are just some ideas

The only requirement for membership in OA is the DESIRE to stop eating compulsively. There is nothing in any of it that even so much as mentions surgery. So the only people's business it is really is yours and your HP's and screw what the rest of anyone else thinks!!!

Hey y'all,
Sorry to hear that everyone is having such a hard time with Dr. Ponce's office. I am however glad that Dr. Rose (my doctor) practices by himself. He has the Weight Management Center do his fills, but I know that he is also there every Tuesday. Anyway, I hope y'all get everything figures out soon. I may not be get6ting surgery as I am not sure I weigh enough for my insurance to cover the surgery and I have bad credit so I figure I will try but if they deny me I may need to appeal or try again at a later date.

Hi,
I'm Kim and I just had my consultation yesterday. I am pretty sure that Tricare is going to deny me because the scale at the surgeon's office said that I am 10 pounds lighter than my pcm's scale and also said that I am only 39.0 BMI. I hope that my diabetes my allow them to consider me but who knows. Anyway, I figure if nothing else I will just have to go through the appeals process but from what I understand, that really sucks too. Anyway, good luck to those who are having surgery today and this week. Hopefully it won't take to long for me to get all the answers from Tricare.

If you are unsure whether it is ketosis or lack of fluids, you can go to the pharmacy and buy strips that you hold in your urine that test for ketosis. Either way, the smell should go away soon but if it doesn't, I would go see my gyno.

Tricare: Question about criteria
in Insurance & Financing
Posted
hi all
I just went to a nother surgeon yesterday that is 2 hours away from me because the first surgeon I saw decided Tricare didn't pay enough. The new surgeon says I am only 98 pounds overweight and with tricare you have to be 100 pounds overweight. Anyway, now i'm not sure if tricare will approve me. I 'd like to know if anyone else was under and got approved.
